I wish I could have got the ergos better but the flipper has to take up some space. I figured the functionality and narrow profile was worth making the ergos a little different. I actually grip the knife with a pinch grip with my thumb and index finger on either side of the pivot. It’s weird because people will grab it normally to show grip then change their grip to actually cut something. Just something I noticed. Anyhow, thanks for the video!
Spyderco should have just done it in micarta scales! Would ANYONE say “why are the scales micarta? I wanted pretend carbon fiber scales!” So many people switch out the scales for aftermarket.

Having looked at the smock on a number of occasions and thinking that I might have to get one, I think that I really have to get one 😄👍 I really enjoyed your take on the smock Jake, 'thanks' !
Jake, just a quick question. I just run out of the alcohol that I use to clean my disassembled knives and I bought some 70% ethyl alcohol (it said on the bottle ‘rubbing alcohol’) and am wondering if I can use it as a substitute knife cleaner?
The second D-tent is present for legal reasons as without it could be considered a 'gravity knife' and is therefore not legal in a large number of countries and American states.
Straight neutral grip is meant to give more force in usage. Will be good if it came with a harder use steel for the blade to fit the design as a standard.
This is great, I was wondering why my smocks action was not as “drop shutty” as my PM3. I pulled that 2nd detent out, and I am a happy man .
I have one on the way. Cannot wait to play with it!!

The Ace Grand is one of my favorite knives. I carry and use mine regularly 🤘🏻

I’ve actually never tried cleaning knives with rubbing alcohol, I imagine it would work though 🤷🏼♂️
great review! im kind of scared to take apart my smock but I def want to take out that 2nd detent! i love when my knives are drop shut :)
The one I had went pretty smoothly on the disassembly and the reassembly 👍🏻
