I was going to do one of these but did a para 3 carbon fiber with the clip and backspacer and meton boss plug . It’s sweet . This or the para 2 is on the list or the yojimbo . I ve had luck with good hard steel from spyderco so modding them out makes that much better for me personally and I enjoy using them . Their s45VN has been a dream and well over 300 edc cuts still sharp .
They really have had the best heat treated S45VN steel I have run into to date for me, as well. Sounds like a fun build and project, which came out like you wanted. 👍
@@c.brimstone8906 I honestly do not know, but there have been exclusives in many variants. Spyderco has done M390 and 3V. I am hoping for a Cru-Wear or Magnacut at some point. 👍
Thank you. It’s still in my collection. I get close to selling it and then change my mind after handling it. Recently, I rounded the corners on the scales and love it like a new knife all over again. LOL!!
Why are they still making in these in s30v as production. I don’t understand. They upgraded the pm2 and para 3 to s45, not sure why this is still s30. Same thing with shaman.
Well, 2 things… 1.) they do make special variants with higher end steels that regularly get special drops. My Spyderco Shaman is in Elmax steel; 2.) Spyderco has one of the very best production steel heat treats done to their steels in the USA and Taiwan. Their CPM-S30V steel is better heat treated than many companies S35VN or S45VN of mid-tech companies. Do I wish it was better than S30V? Yes, but it’s not bad variant.
That is absolutely your right to feel that way, but I am not aware of any patents on these clips. I bought my PacificSons clips well before I ever discovered Lynch Clips and MXG Gear. I have used all 3 and think it is a matter of personal preference. I can tell you that the last clips I have been buying in the past 2+ years were all from Lynch mainly and then from MXG for my Hinderer when I had it. My Shaman, AD20.5, QSP Penguin Plus, KUNWU Tao S all have Lynch. I use a Lynch keychain clip for my pocket that has saved my card remote battery and cannot recommend it enough.
Love the Smock. It's my most carried knife.
Love the smock👌
It’s a classic and I do enjoy it.
Awesome build
Thanks! 👍

Agreed! Thats the reason I got two haha the s30v and the m390 got the first one acid/stone washed
I can understand that. I’d get an M390, 3V, Cru-Wear, etc. if I could find one!!
@@Robs_Nerdy_Knives is there actually a Cru-Wear Version? That would be awesome. Thought the only Version I am missing is the M4. Haha

Great video sir, well thought out and well executed

@@Robs_Nerdy_Knives that's awesome it's wild when just a small change can do that to a item..
You know, that’s such a good point… I feel a Rob’s Ramblings!!

That clip is straight up knock off rip off of Lynch. Not cool to promote it, imho.
