Amazing casting from this guy carrying this and last match solo for 2 hrs each time. Great job!
It's far easier to criticize than it is to solo cast for 2 hours during technical delays etc. so I'm more impressed by him than you.
Tasteless used to do that back in the day for entire seasons of the Gom TV tournaments. Go check some of that out and compare. Then look at yourself in the mirror and try actually telling yourself that rapid is a good caster.
I love the casting and seriously great effort, but I simply don't find rapid's voice as nice on the ear as tastosis for some reason.

Rapid does such a good job solo casting. As someone who has done it in the past, I know how crazy difficult it is (and how much your throat hurts after). Great work!
People need to support Rapid more. It's difficult enough to cast solo, but to talk so effortlessly on the fly for such a long time to cover empty space between matches and during technical delays is even harder. Tasteless was just a trainwreck when he used to have to do it.

Where did artosis go?
Only, it _certainly_ wasn't effortless. He is a bit awkward, and self-aware of it, to the point of it being something of a nuisance. Although, he is much more enjoyable when he is solocasting, as opposed to making failed attempts at banter with a co-caster.
He's no less awkward than Tasteless and Artosis, who are both quirky in their own rights. The main difference is that we're just used to Tasteless and Artosis.

I remember when Wolf solo casted GSL Code A years ago too. I think he did that more than once as well, heroic efforts and well done by Wolf at the time. Rapid did better than I expected doing this solo as well.

Game 3,Flash's build was sooo meta after seeing the carriers, marines can shit on carriers alone since they have high dps and the fact that carriers kill 1 unit at the time, but bisu saw the barracs and prepare with reavers, such a good game.
man what a class act, respecting his opponent even after beating him. Really shows the respect these two have for each other.
Except he didn't even gg in the final game, he left Bisu hanging.

Whoever casted the first game missed the fact that Bisu tried to go for hidden tech, and as soon as Flash saw less than 3 pylons he sent the scv to scout that 3rd base. Star sense by Flash. Yes, the SCV died, but that wasn't the important part.
solo casting this epic series would be an impressive task for anything , props to sub caster boo to asl for only hiring 1 backup.........

I'm really disappointed in Bisu's play today. He is so much better online, he takes so many games from Flash usually, and here it looks like he just got stomped. Sloppy play unfortunately.
Flash is beast though anyways.. as we all know.
Some people perform worse in offline tournaments cuz they dont feel comfortable. And it looks like it doesnt bother Flash at all.
his zealots micro was terrible, sending to confront 1st line of the attackers over and over again instead getting them inside where tanks were on siege to force tanks bombard each other, waves of zealots usually took a few vultures down before disappearing while tanks remained all full health
Bisu being close to flash is a myth. At any point in time, if flash wants to win, he just does (see game 4). Terran is brutally OP vs P at this level, bisu has no chance.
Rapid - You are only getting better and better and your comfort with casting is growing apparent. Making fun of your own mistakes and exhaustion all with a smile on your face.
You got the filler material down pat. Just need a little more game analysis (e.g. predictions, possible counters) and you'll be golden.

The fact that Flash keeps winning games by adopting similar strategy may seem very boring, but i still respect him very much due to his CONSISTENCY OF GOOD PERFORMANCE & GREAT FORM. The capability of keep improving & reproducing high quality of performance time after time is something that all progamers hope to achieve. So far i think Flash has succeeded it. Therefore he has gained very much respect among his peers & other Starcraft progamers. However this is always ignored by those viewers who only watch Starcraft Broodwar games for entertainment.
I would describe Flash as a GREAT COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF Terran player due to his specialty in macro game play, especially his ability to make accurate & timely decision in the battlefield. I think by now his numerous victories against players across all 3 races have gave him a PSYCHOLOGICAL ADVANTAGE over his opponents in all formal competitions. His strong defence & counterattacks always stretches his opponent to puzzle out how to defeat him. I guessed Bisu did not perform well mainly because of this psychological disadvantage & he failed to figure out the right way in this match.

basically my prediction here. Bisu's aweome, but at PvT? his multitasking needs serious adjustment. he has the very best multitasking ability out of any broodwar player, even Flash in my opinion, but it's applied badly in this matchup.

I honestly do not understand the Rapid hate. He may not have the deep insights like Artosis, but he still provides good information, easy to listen to, and is still very entertaining. The fact that he can still do commentary during technical difficulties without any awkward silence shows that he is very talented at what he does. Making good small talk when nothing is going on is more difficult than making small talk during a crappy date.
Rapid gets better with every cast too. Especially this one - game 1 started with a pause. Camera pans to Rapid and he just tap dances out of his ass for 10 minutes. Really impressive.
He shows a lot of awareness too. He knows he's making mistakes in his strategic commentary and mispronunciation but plays it off well.

Not entertaining and pretty cringe to anyone who's seen competitive Brood War until this point. Game 4 proves this with Rapid not knowing that early Stargate meant Carriers on CROSSING FIELD which is a great Carrier map. He really needs to learn more BW history. Like, entertaining commentary is good but its not fooling anyone who actually has seen pro BW for a while.
He was terrible. Would not watch again. Annoyed me so bad. Bring back a real announcer, anyone other than him please!

What is bisu doing wrong on 2nd game? He has map control, 5/6 bases and fast arbiters against a terran that is turtling in 3 bases that will run out of resources.
His engangements were terrible... In the first big battle, he basically helped the Terran with that statis, it acted like a building wall defending the siege tanks.. Bisu murdered so many of his units pointlessly.
FeroxX inmediatly later, Flash realised a strong push and he expanded. Flash understand better than no one what he has to do in every momment.

I was rooting for Bisu but Flash in the finals will be exciting to see as always.
1/256 chance for a ranged unit to randomly miss. 53.125% chance to miss if unit is attacking high ground. certain doodads create a miss effect too.

He didn't do a lot of zealot drops in the last game either. Seemed off. I'm happy for Flash but I expected it to be much closer.
He said that he doesn't like using templer and arbiter together in his broadcast. I don't know why, but I think that is one of his beliefs..
To anyone who likes Rapid vs Tastosis, you need to watch previous SC1 BW championship games. There's so much knowledge that Rapid misses out on and points that he misses out that its not funny.

Not Bisu’s best games. If Flash didn’t go for style points he’d have easy 3-0, but it’s sad, I’ve seen Bishu play so much better than this. I guess Flash is just in Bisu’s head.

flash makes tvp looks like a ridicoulously unfair match up. turtle on 3 bases, push with mech ball, win.
I think vultures are too strong for their cost per unit after upgrades: 75 mins for 3 mines, strong anti infantry (and anti shield vs protoss), extreme speed.

so... 2 reaver shots were missing in the first engage to start game one. was that a remastered issue or did Bisu forget to make scarabs?
You can see when the observer picks the reaver that there are 5 scarabs 33:45

Bisu's TvP is just not as stellar as his TvZ. He is good a multi-tasking harrass and small scale micro. But in TvP frontal engagement, he lacks the finesse to beat the best Terran in the world.
And no it is not due to PvT being Terran favored. It is actually a slightly protoss favored matchup. There were players better in this matchup and I would remind ppl of Jangbi defeating Fantasy in the last two OSL finals.
theoretically PvT is protoss favored in the sense that protoss can get tier 1 units to combat terran's tier 2 units, but in actuality terran winrate in TvP is higher.
I don't think that is true.
I can't find good BW stats summary now. But I definitely remember P>T>Z>P is winrate statistic based in Korea. Most top Terran players struggle in PvT. The only exceptions were Flash and Fantasy(also the reason they were the only 2 consistently top-ranked Terran). But even for Flash you would see TvP is his least dominate matchup.
It is not theoretical based. The biggest reason for Terran struggling in TvP is that T had to give up map control early game. A lot of Terrans either straight up die before they get 3rd expansion or fall too far behind.
how does protoss beat the Terran death ball?
There were tons of games where Flash lost to protoss after maxing out. Just check some Flash vs Jangbi or Best games. I remember there was a game Best built 33 gateways to power through Flash's max out army.
Or you find even more from players not named Flash.

I have to admit, for such an epic game (which I'm still watching), I really wish Tastosis could be casting. I love those guys and they do the best job. That said, I gotta give credit to this Rapid guy. Good job man. That is insane pressure to be casting such a high stakes game, all by yourself. You have a cute style. I appreciate it. It ain't tastosis, but kudos all the same.

Bisu really didnt play like his normal self this set. Against Baxter he was on fire...hitting from everywhere. Flash certainly had holes in his defense that could have been exploited. Sucks to see Bisu lose. I like Flash but its kind of boring seeing him dominate lol. herO is going to have a hard time winning in the grand finals But I would love to see it come down to a game 5!

Bisu got nervous and made terrible decisions, combined with silly mistakes. The Statis Field on the tanks in front of the bridge was just plain dumb. Bisu could won if he calmed down.
iccup core Yeah I agree. He was way too nervous, completely butchered his micro in whole series.
He also stasis his 4 zlots that we’re closest to tanks which would have helped a lot. Instead they blocked his other zlots. Then later he stasis his shuttle. :( Poor Bisu. But wth it’s Flash so even a guy of Bisu’s grade would be nervous.
Can someone explain the mass bio strat in game 3? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. You have to invest a bunch into building more production, and time to build up enough marines. Then the marines are vulnerable to reaver and zealots. Wouldn't lots of goliaths be a better play? Or was it just a matter of it being scouted before the bio was able to build critical mass?
TheWhiteDragon factories take much longer to build than rax. So he just made m&m which are good vs carriers, but then bisu just made reavers when he saw 8 rax so it didn't end well
I think Bisu went out of his way to scout with only 2 carriers because he feared this could happen. Had Flash been able to surprise Bisu a little later with the same push but with a Bisu who only had speed zealots and dragoons under his carriers, Flash would have won before storm. Bisu was wise to predict this as a possibility and knowing his carriers had been scouted, he used those to confirm.
at 1:00:20 Bisu only needed to keep Flash in his base but Bisu sent his whole army to kill 4 vultures come on man.. Bisu could've played a lot better i think
Yeah, Bisu played that terribly.. That were the point where he lost that match...
Flash is just on another level compared to the other pros... The dmg output from tanks+mines is really scary when you fight with zealots+goons and arbiter play is kinda dicy. Depends a lot on what you can freeze and how much is left. Feels to me like storm shuttles are more effective? Or avoiding the army and attack where the army is not with recall? But I'm no broodwar player :D

There's a lot of comments about Terran being more powerful/unbalanced. Can anyone explain why? It's a serious question. I don't know much about Starcraft.
vadernl There's a slight bias to the strongest Terran players in the history of BW being more stable and consistent than the strongest Zerg and Protoss. But all races have plenty of champions. In my opinion Flash trains as hard as his old days, and has lots of money motivating him to do so. Bisu trained hard for this tournament but in general there's less than 5 pros who really put everything into BW now. Unfortunately we're not seeing any new names in Brood War.
But as a simple matter of fact everyone who played this game a long time agrees Protoss is slightly favoured over Terran. Zerg favoured over Protoss, Terran over Zerg.
The more important point is that no Terran matchup is hard to play safe and stable in. Where PvP and ZvZ are more volitile. Terran can always focus and strong safe play. That's a psychological advantage.
The large number of Terran imba comments is just political. People are parroting.
Rapid just earned my respect, amazing job and I enjoyed his commentary.

Terran isn't as imbalanced as you newbs think it is. You're undermining the skill of the players by attributing their victories to race imbalance.
Except all Terran has to do is sit on 3 bases and there's nothing P can do about it. P has to wait for the tanks to go out into the center to engage. There is no counterplay to the superior defense, other than expanding all over the entire map and building 30 gateways. Meanwhile all it takes is 6 vultures skirting into your 5th to lose a big part of your economy, which you need to battle vs the 3 base terran. If that doesn't sound like imbalance then I don't know what does.

Also if he was in a hurry to stasis before EMP, maybe stasis on the SV would still be a LOT better than stasis on the FRONT tanks...
