A few days later - Here's my Configuration Code which you can use to map it how I've mapped it, if you're having trouble getting it set up fCo8bDFd (I'll keep tweaking this, and updating the code...)
If you give this a try, my advice is this. The instructions work, but they're a bit wonky. Start by getting the gyro working while plugged in. Then, get it running wireless. In both cases, getting the connection confirmed to the USB receiver *before* powering on the Xbox helped a lot. Now it's just detecting immediately with wireless. The curves and deadzones and sensitivity will take fine tuning for sure. Be prepared to drive around with the phone app by your side on the couch and tweak it. But it's so worth it in the end. Lastly, is probably what I should, have done first. Never underestimate the power of a battery device that's been left to charge fully overnight. I had a lot better luck on day 2 and it's been working great ever since. Ready for Forza Motorsport on gyro Xbox controller, and cannot wait! If you try it out and make a video, please link it here - I'd love to see! Good luck. This changes everything.
If the controller starts to freak out or spin views, be prepared to re-load your saved profile into your active slot. This ends up being a faster fix than trying to debug or re-map the gyro. (Usually it seems to be the gyro mapping switching from left stick to right stick for some reason). Just reload your saved version.
