this steering rack is from a Mitsubishi Outlander 😂 you can install a steering rack from a simple Lancer with front-wheel drive, but you need to redesign one oil supply line so that it does not rest against the transfer case. Who am I writing this to anyway, no one will read it 🥴
I read this my man, to build nearly any Mitsubishi at the current time you have to be able to re-engineer parts to fit if you want to keep these cars roadworthy. Jafro is the best at doing this for sure!
Nice to see the Evo IV, hopefully she’ll get some love soon. Building the IV is gonna be fun to watch. If You think the parts for the 8/9 Evo’s are scarce the IV is worse. But you can use a lot of OEM Mirage parts luckily.

@@enzob9696 pretty much anything Mitsubishi is hard to find parts for.... Thanks to Nissan having controlling interest in Mitsubishi I doubt they will ever make more parts. Maybe they will? Nissan has a parts program for the GTRs now, but they of course made the parts crazy expensive. Anything Mitsubishi that is remotely sought-after like the 3KGT, Evo & DSM. I know Devin is against doing a DSM but he could Evo swap a 2G Eclipse (420a powered) like Miguel DSM did on his channel. I think Devin could really build it better since he has more knowledge and experience building cars in general. The Evo IV on this channel is the same color as my IV, except mine has a Sunroof and a few goodies added to it. I am in the process of building LED headlights for my IV. I really think he could make the IV very nice if he can get the title issue sorted.

@@rayjhay8624 Me too! I can't wait to see what he would do with it. Because to build/restore that IV, he'll have to be very creative to get the ole girl back to her former glory. Swap an Evo 8 Rear End, delete the AYC pump....Evo 10 brakes, 3KGTVR4 BMC that car would stop on a dime and give you 9 cents back. Evo 8 PowerPlant build the Evo IV trans since it is stronger than the Evo 8/9 variants. Not that I thought about this build much...lol

When you shrink tint you should be doing that on the outside first. Bubbles don't go away on their own. Try injecting some isopropyl in after working the bubble near the top edge. It will promote adhesive

That's how you learn Devin! Side windows look solid! Bigger windows like front and rear is more challenging due the surface being bigger. You'll get the hang of it.
I think if you can wrap a car, you can nail this if you get the technique in.
thats because theres much more curve to shrink. the risk is also higher because if you mess up- depending on how far you are in, you will have to restart.
Use the heat gun and get the bubbles out/ shrink the tint on the outside then transfer to inside.

Haha when I tinted my truck windows(it took me many tries) one stray Juneau dog hair ended up behind it and it stayed there for a few years until I replaced the tint

So, being a type R owner here. When I got my windows tinted, The guy I used who was a track coach of mine, he owns his own tint Business in Pehlam, AL called Tint One. He keeps a separate piece of glass for the rear hatch on these generation Civics. He said it makes his life a whole lot easier to tint that specific piece when he can do it off the car.

Get a Wagner heat gun, I started with that same gun and it doesn’t heat up fast enough for proper shrinking. It also started shooting sparks 😂, wet shrink on the outside before you lay it on the inside. If it lays perfect outside minus some edges because of trim it’ll lay perfect inside. Also distilled water helps for better slip mixture. Good tools make all the difference as well. I taught myself to tint as well, glad to see you’re willing to do the same! 🤙🏼💪🏼
Also get some dryer sheets for rear windows/windshields get them damp and wipe it all over the window, it makes a non-static coating and shrinking will be a lot easier. It’s a game changer!
Hb is a lot easier than sedans, especially new ones for tinting

Evo parts are often priced to rip people off you usually have to go to a specialist but expect too pay. When I restored my VI some parts where shocking.
I would really like to see some content on the Evo 4. It would be good to get an update on it and see where the car is up to
If you get a minute you should take a look at the Evo RS that Chelsea DeNofa has on his channel. He’s the master of suspension setups. It would be worth you while. ✌️
If it Japan ?! It built by Koyo or Aisin .and piston still built by Mahle , the steering rack you buy is made of seals from China , it cost US. Ea.$85-$120 if you buy high volumes from China and sold in U.S for $350 or more in U.S
You are lucky you don’t live in the UK. Here you CANT tint the front side windows or the windscreen. You can’t for wheels that stick out from the wings. I guess you have laws that suck in the US also though. Respect that you’re always trying to do new stuff.
I've always found it easier to just pull the door glass and apply tint while it's on a towel on a table.. idk how the pros do it on the car. skills lol

Not sure if you have done it or its been recommended before have you checked to pressure the power steering pump is putting out ive seen it on Toyota before excessive pressure blowing out the rack seals

My ES has a ralliart rack. I read somewhere that it's the same as the evo. I know the ratio is better than my stock one. So if someone has the info this might help.
You need to form the shape of the back glass while it’s on the outside. Do this in an H pattern. Do this dry. Then wet it down before pulling off the backing, and transfer. Being cautious to not damage the defrost lines.

I follow glacier window tinting on TikTok he heats the tint also and I think you have to slap the microfiber for it to really hold. I’d love to tint
