      @@chrisdmac_ Yes VN5157761 front and VN5157861 for the back (1inch thicker) but rear tire can be really wide without rubbing and can have 20” wheel no issues. Mine ended up being tiny FYI

    Will look better if hood & mirrors painted!!! Either gloss black hood, mirrors yellow,
    & yellow SS stripes on black hood, or yellow hood & black stripes. Nice car!!

    Nice ride! I have a 87’ Cutlass, I have 18”x8 Ridler wheels. I want to put 245/45 tires on all 4. Do you know if they will rub?

    I may have missed it, but is it a stock suspension car? The stance is just right, and staggering the wheels with big lips really look good. Nice to have the info on back spacing.

      Thank you, the front has 2" lowering springs and the rear is stock with air shocks.

      Engine is a 383 stroker with 2.5" dual exhaust through thrush welded mufflers.

    How much room is between the tire and the rear frame? Could you go with a half inch different offset to bring the wheel closer to the frame?

      The tire has about a half inch gap from the frame so if it would work it would be extremely close to rubbing.

    Did you lift the suspension or left it original I got 17 for mine and I have to redo thet suspension and I would like to know if I have to lift it some

      No lift, it does have air shocks set to about 40psi

    Im looking into Ridler wheels. 18x8s on the front and 18x9.5s in the back. 4.5in spacing for both, but I was curious what the offset is for your wheels.

      Sorry don't know the offset just know the fronts are 17x8 with 4" back spacing and rears are 18x9.5 with 4.5" b.s. hope this helps.

      Oh yea! Its exactly like the 1978-1987 Chevy Malibu. The only difference is the rear. Malibu has a trunk where the El Camino got a pick up truck bed. Its a G body for sure. Its classified a Sports Coupe Pick up. (A k a The Best Of Both Worlds)

      Front is 2" lower, rear is just stock with air shocks.

    Is your car lowered any at all? Would this wheel and tire setup work with a 2” drop all the around?

      Yes the front has Hotchkis 2" lowering springs and the rear has air shocks that I use to adjust the height. So you should be fine but as I said in the video my car rubs very lightly on one side in the rear. I hope this helps you!

      You can always Roll the inside of the Rear Fender Lip. Car looks good.

    That is not a G-body ! That is a A-Body ended in 1981 , G-Body started in 1982

      Thanks for the reply email.
      Our archive records indicate that the El Camino was an “A” body 1AW80 model up until 1981. It then was ”G” body beginning in 1982 as a 1GW80 model.

      @@87next2last1 78-81 were a different gbody no metric chassis. 82-87 are the "better" gbodys they share the exact same frame brakes etc they are NOTHING like a 64-77 abody I've had the 85 grand prix 83 Cutlass and a 78 malibu

      The fronts are -12mm and the rears are -18mm
