      Hey I appreciate that....I wanted to help someone out if I could. I know when I was looking for this info I was having trouble because nobody really was giving all the info. I decided to make a video with ALL the info needed to accomplish this look if you liked it. Thanks for watching.

      Thank you for this video, I have 1987 REGAL LTD 275/40/17 rear and 245 /40/17 8 inches wheels I dropped the car 2 inches on all four corners, so with your set up I'm going try rear tires in the front and see how they work out in that case I go 10 inches wide into the back with a 305 without notching the frame, thanks for sharing with us your video.

    Nice ride brother. I've done many G-Body's so I was hoping to give you a little info. The cracks on your tires are from impact with the fender. The soft compound will stretch and tear when the weight of the car impacts the rotating tire. Harder compound tires will cut but they won't tear. I also had a mustang with same issue so I've experienced this on 5 separate cars.

    • @CutlassVibes

      Hey brother I sure do appreciate the info. Thanks for the explanation I'm always open to learning and listening to what others have experienced. Thank you for watching.

    It looks like you went with Factory backspacing which is very important for correct suspension geometry.

      I haven't had any issues with suspension or anything, so I am glad this setup has worked well for me. Thanks for watching Cutlass Vibes.

    I want to know if the 275 tire × 9 inch wheels in the front can accommodate a 3 inch dropped will work without rubbing by turning radious and clearing the top of the fender plastic

    • @CutlassVibes
      @CutlassVibes  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Mine are 275 and I did a 2 inch drop with a 9 inch wheel with 4.5 backspace and it worked good. 3 inch drop will be pushing it but I'm not sure if it will clear since I have not done that before.

    might wanna consider getting those welds redone on the frame notch because damn those are some booger welds theres a reason people use kits because the piece that replaces the removed part is thicker then OE steel to retain some strength in the fram

    I don't get the backspacing differences. I fit 17x9 on 275/40's on all 4 corners. Came with 4.5" backspacing and had to run a half inch spacer. Love your ride man.

    • @CutlassVibes
      @CutlassVibes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bet yours is a cool setup as well...I wanted a certain look and I take trips on my car occasionally, so I didn't want to run spacers at all. Like for example your 4.5" backspacing in the rear plus your 1/2" spacer equals the 5" backspacing I have with no spacer at all. I'm glad you love the ride sir I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.

    I just got an 81 monte carlo and was wondering what the widest you can go on the front is? I want to do 10in wide basset or arrow race wheels on all 4 corners but i don't know if 10 will fit the front so any ideas? 10.5in fit the rear because my fathers Oldsmobile has 10.5 drag slicks on the back. So i know i have room on the back.

      Oh nice....well I have 9in with 4.5 backspace in the front with a 275 tire and on big dips it hits just a tad bit. Not sure if a 10 would work but please let me know if you find out. That would be a nice setup! Thanks for watching Cutlass Vibes.

    • @Bacongaming406

      Sorry. I mean rims are 18X 9.25

    • @CutlassVibes
      @CutlassVibes  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh ok I was about to say that sounds like a lot of backspace. I'm sure that it's really an 18 X 9 just might not measure exactly what they say. It will work...every once in a while when I hit a big dip my tire touches just a little bitty bit. Maybe going 1 size less wide would be perfect just so it doesn't touch any at all.
