    Beautiful car!! I’ve had that same exact Grant GT chrome steering wheel. It’s a beast when the sun shines on it! Lol

    I am in love with ElCo. My 1978 is originally a metallic blue-green but was flat black when I purchased it I was considering repainting it the original color but seeing your baby in that glossy black is making me reconsider.

    Stick shift was with diesel motors but your conversion is great. I like the seats from a malibu inside for buckets with console. I just got done putting a 454 BBC into my 1979 elco. You should consider that next as they fit perfectly under stock hood and make burnouts and wheel stands so much easier then the 305 it came with! Ha-ha-ha..

    I had a new 1979 El Camino SS silver body, maroon rocker panels.
    Which ever year you owned, that was the best looking one ever made.
    Mine was.

      68 69 and 70 are considered the best looking with the 70 being best all around if its the 454

      I'm not sure they did...either column shift or a floor shifter with a 2-3 speed hooked up. Hurst shifter seems like a custom job.

    • @davestewart2067
      @davestewart2067 ปีที่แล้ว

      Floor shifted three speed Saginaw was the base transmission. Four speed was optional. Very few were built with manual shift.

      @@debellis5828 lol, j wrote that comment a year ago before I finished building my El Camino, I believe it only applied to earlier generations, Gbodys had so much variety, my SS has power windows but others don't. For the Gbodys, it is very hard to tell a real SS from a fake one. The only thing I can think of, would be whether or not it has a bench seat ot bucket seats, but I could probably be wrong about that too
