    Portuguese Alvarinho is produced in a sub-region of vinho verde, it's called monção e melgaço, and wines made only from this grape are not semi sparkle, they are still wines, they can be very fresh with lots of minerality or buttery like, try some soalheiros, anselmo mendes, provam, etc you won't regret.

    Portuguese Alvarinho is not sparkling and is the real one. The Galelo Albarinho is a well done experiment, growing grapes in such wet and moderate/windy North Atlantic region, you would never expect much out of the wine but, hey, they did it!
    And btw, vinho verde is a wine that is not aged, is consumed on the next year. Green or verde means just that, is not really the color as one might think. The Galelo Albarinho is also not aged in barrels and therefore is also verde…
