      You are right! Spain has surprisingly good white wines for a country most associate with red wine. I just love the combination of fragrant aromas and vibrant acidity in Albariño.

    Try to taste Godello wine (with protected geographical indication) also from Galicia. It is a land of wine (red and white) because it was a land of churchs hehehe. Something about the most famous wine of Galicia, ribeiro, it was, probably, the first wine that crossed the Atlantic ocean, with Cristobal Colon.

      I am a big fan of Godello! I didn't know the story about Columbus. Interesting.

    Though Alvarinho aka Albarino they are the same grape,what will the key difference in general?Alvarinho planted in Minho(Vinho Verde),climate slightly more cooler?

    • @JackyBlisson
      @JackyBlisson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! It is hard to generalize as Albariño & Alvarinho styles can change based on microclimate and producer but overall, Rías Baixas Albariño tends to have more bold peach and tropical fruit aromas, slightly fuller body, and mineral/saline notes.

      @@JackyBlisson am I right that viticulture practice can actually alter the sugar ripeness of the grape(leaf to fruit ratio etc) and also do humidity of the environment will have some impact on the grapes sugar ripeness?

    • @JackyBlisson
      @JackyBlisson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@clairenclarenceful You are right. There are many viticultural practices that can alter fruit ripeness (from pruning, to canopy management - leaf cover techniques, to when you harvest, etc.)

      It is one of the castros. These are native pre-Roman hillfort settlements from the Iron Age. There are quite a few in the area. I believe this one is the castro of Santa Trega in the municipality of A Guarda.
