After looking into some of the most important wine countries in our previous series, France, Italy, Portugal, I want to start with you today a journey through the third biggest wine-producing nation in the world, and one of the most ancient ones, and really one of my very personal favorites for sure, yes we’re talking about Spain. Today, I just want to give you a quick round up of what Spain is all about as I’m sure many do not necessarily realize how diverse Spanish wine is. We’ve all heard about Rioja, made from the Tempranillo red grape, but what else is there around the Iberian Peninsula? What do the Spaniards drink with their Paella, it cannot be all red and all Rioja right, let’s find out…
00:00 - Beyond Rioja… Red Wines from Spain
    02:35 - Wines from Rioja
03:25 - Red Wines of Castilla
    06:12 - Wines from Catalonia
    08:48 - Aragon and Navarra
10:38 - The “Vinos de Pago”

Rioja is what got me into wine. Still to this day , I enjoy Tempranillo along with Sangiovese, and Syrah.

I love Spanish wine! Specially the dry reds with an oxidative character, which tastes of dried fruit.
