@@L0rdLogan Microsoft can't do that because they don't control the software distribution for their platform unlike Apple did with iOS until recently, and they can't do that either because regulators.
@@footballnewscr neither was I at any time comparing it to windows…. More options for my m1 the better…. Nintendo and Sega took roms off a rom site they don’t even own, when they don’t even sell the games in any capacity anymore, they don’t care about game preservation so why should we pay for them?
Technically the golden era was when you could just run bootcamp and play every windows game ever 😂

Finally, we've gone full circle.
We had a 360 dev kit based on a Mac, now we're playing actual 360 games ON a mac.

@@fluddsskark Yes, to be exact, it was not the regular public dev kit, it was the Internal Alpha XDK and Partner Alpha XDK which were indeed based on Off-the-shelf G5 Macs. But they were later replaced by X360 based dev kits.
@@GregoireDuval so the only thing they had was the softwares. we need an internet archive dump of the mac devkits

I hope you do a video with an M1 or M1 Pro laptop. I’ve heard that some things don’t work there like they do on a more recent Mac (aside from the obvious Ray Tracing)

Great video, very informative! I'm considering buying a macbook pro M3 18GB RAM for video editing and would also like to play Cyberpunk and alan wake 2 in high settings( not through streaming) . Did apple make some progress on simplifying this procedure already, or it would take much effort with average results ?
I highly doubt it'll play Cyberpunk or Alan Wake 2 on high settings (maybe on the lowest settings) but that's just sepculation.

Intel Macs can Boot Camp and run the Xenia emulator from there.

Hey Andrew Tsai, I really love your content and everything you post and share, but I genuinely feel that you might be mistaken here. First it's definitely amazing that games are coming to Mac (+native for M Cpu), but what's the benefit if you need to buy a model that costs 30-40K just to run them?? It's already better to compromise and buy a Windows desktop that is 70% cheaper. Personally, I have a desktop running Windows intended for gaming and other tasks, and a laptop with an M1 Pro primarily for studies. I play on it very little, mainly emulators, but it's still frustrating that I need a super expensive Mac to run a games even from 2010...

Stop this Vulkan nonsense sense, it has been explained so many times. Metal is better, sure it needs devs to support it but with GPTK is not impossible for sure. For a market like this supporting Vulkan would be like zero interest in Metal from many devs so you could forgot many of the new titles we are getting. Also Metal is faster also with ray tracing support.
This is just a proof of concept, you don’t need an high end machine to play native Mac titles or many games via CrossOver.
Nobody is saying this is the best way to run games at all, just that it is possible- Andrew has said many times in different videos that this is not the ideal way to play Windows games, but it *is* cool that you can even do it, and that certain titles run well. I think the point is that if you have a mac already, you can run some stuff, not that you should buy a mac for gaming.. how is it a mistake to demonstrate this?
Welp, technically the Xbox 360 was literally a glorified PowerPC Mac.
All three 7th gen consoles used PowerPC CPUs

You could backport Sequoia's Rosetta files to Sonoma to have AVX2 support, there's a guide on r/macgaming
