Bro, just wanted to give you a heartfelt congratulations. Feels like not that long ago you were at 10k subscribers now you’re 100k+!! I remember first finding your channel in the comment section of by any means basketball saying to Coleman how he inspired you to start your own channel. Now you’re out here leading and inspiring others! Definitely something I aspire to and I’m happy to see how much you’ve grown! You’ve earned it and keep it going 🔥🔥🔥
This video carries so much weight people don't even know the fact that you can get a hezi without making a carry. Being able to produce for your team, and possibly carry them to the finals through a simple move is amazing.
This is a great video, thanks for sharing. The most important part for any of these moves - you need to have a good (and fast) jump shot. This makes defenders anxious and more likely to react on a hesi.
I think for a casual hooper, the stepback hesi is the best one, since the casual hooper probably won't bite on it, giving you an open shot. And if they do, it's an easy blowby.
In the basics part u mention how ur footwork should look like your shooting, but certain hezis like the sub-zero one, all the examples had players with one of their foot significantly behind the other, almost like a negative step. So I don't think having your footwork has to completely set to shoot
I could have worded it better. The hesi footwork should look like the pullup footwork you're pretending to do. A hesi pull starts with that split stance w/ staggered feet. Hence the sub zero hesi starts in that exact same position. Then at some point the moves stop looking the same when you decide to shot fake & drive.
@@CoachFrikki True, I just mentioned it cause little details like these are what separate your videos from others and is why I enjoy them the most. Like every video u post I actually learn something and can apply it to my game
This is all very situational. If you can imitate getting into your shooting form/rhythm then it'll be the most effective but if you're playing quickly and your defender is aware of your shooting ability, they will jump the second u look up and look anywhere close to getting into your shot. When you play quicker, that negative step helps explode out of your shot like Ronaldo Segu's unique hesi.
@@CoachFrikki answer this, kevin durant sits 8th all time in efficiency rating, he takes 18.7 shots per game...13.8 of those are midrange...and 4.9 is 3pt...he gets 13.5 pts a game from midrange and only 5.5 pts from 3pt...he shoots a much more efficient shot from midrange than 3, so are we to just abandon the midrange at all? Even if you can be very efficient in it? Edit: (These numbers are Kevin's career average)
@@ShadowMageYT Kevin Durants midrange percentage for his career is 45.7%. Which is 0.914 PPP. Which is really inefficient compared to his 1.15 PPP on threes and 1.47 PPP at the rim. But looking at one player is not a good way to prove a point. Just look at the averages, and you'll see that the midrange shot is the most inefficient shot in the game. Which is why teams are shooting it less every year.
@@CoachFrikki Yeah that's for sure true, and you are definitely right that it's the most inefficient shot...I didn't even look at PPP so thats news for me, but still you can't deny that the fadeway is a great move even if the "midrange" is inefficient...thank you for making these videos, they really are helpful!
I accidentally did this without even knowing, I was about to go up for a shot when the defender jumped so I just went right past him, the trick is for you to actually do everything like ur actually gonna shoot and then pull this move
Hey Coach I got a question. How do I get past my defender? When someone’s infront of me I’ll try to dribble and do like a btl to hesi but it doesn’t work that often.
@@kxdenj8563 tru dat. I mean shii, I look at curry highlights for hours on end ( along with kyrie and dame). watching for hours , you’ll pick up the tendencies … eventually💯
Byanymeansbasketball analyzed ronaldo segu's hezi and he mentioned how the hezi should be brief almost like a slight change of pace, the hezi doesn't even have to completly get the defender to jump for you to get past them, so it should always be quick, plus the slower ur hezi the more likely you'll carry it
Segu has an insane hesi game for sure. I had some clips of him - but dropped them because By Any Means Basketball just made a breakdown of his hesi a few days earlier.

I would like to see how to be locked in video

2:36 (one drible pullup hesi)
3:11 (fake stepback)
3:43 (snatch + hesi)
4:09 (croosover + hesi)

Love the music
Agreed! It's a remix of a soundtrack from Avatar the show.

Yeah that soundtrack is too good.
Last Airbender music goes crazy
Coach thanx for the amazing content
Could you please make a video what are the top10 moves that a guard should have
Another thing to keep in mind is that you should have a good to great jump shot to make this move more effective
Thank you Coach!!!
Shot fake hesitation is translated to “worship the Buddha “ in Chinese (拜佛)which is super vivid and descriptive to me
Cool beats coach 👍 and as always content

You should do a video on fadeaway

The btl so lethal
love this helps my game a lot

oh
Literally what he says in the video
1:37 definitely was a carry and there's nothing you can say about that, his hand is clearly under the ball
It's only a carry if he dribbles it

don't look at the ball, focus on him so you won't be easily faked, but you also need to practice footwork so you can keep up with him ☺️
Any tips on how to shoot better?
4:35 clean, 4:42 travel.
Player breakdown ( Damian Lillard, kyrie Irving, Stephen Curry)
I’d like to know why a hesi isn’t a carry?
rule number one:
be able to make the shot.
carry
Hey Coach I got a question. How do I get past my defender? When someone’s infront of me I’ll try to dribble and do like a btl to hesi but it doesn’t work that often.
Just get better
Main thing is to get your shoulder to their hip. The side of the hip that’s closest to you
Did yall see that one hesi ??
Which one was the best in your opinion?
At 4:44 sus look illegal
What exactly is a subzero hesi? a float dribble into a toe tap?
Hang your dribble, fake the pullup, then bounce off your back foot and blow by.
carry.
letsgooo!!
Can you breakdown curry’s playstyle pleas

Does it matter about the speed of your hesi. Like do you have to do it quick or slow or it doesnt matter?

no, just carry the ball. Put your hand under the ball, the more you do the more you'll be able to hide that you're carrying and then you're good.
can you talk about ronaldo segu's hesi
He's got a dirty one! Might cover it one day. Just didn't want to do it right after By Any Means Basketball did a breakdown on him.
