TIP if your opponent is running fast side by side, slow down because he's probably going to immediately stop and absolutely destroy your ankles beyond recognition. Also, try to develop a 3rd eye while guarding because it can and WILL make you a great defender.

Actually not a big fan of how AI did his crossover (to hang the ball wide). He made it work because of his insane athleticism, handles and long wingspan. Most people are gonna want to start their crossover tighter, like Harden does.
i might try what I saw later and I'll comment again iff it was help full, but i did learn a lot from the contact part and I love after he guy did a little dancy dance at 7:13
"Used mainly when driving strongside" -- is that because it's the overloaded side so you're going to run into traffic and it makes sense to get yourself some space for an easy jumper instead? Or does that mean with your dominant hand? (since they then mention weak hand)
The under the legs snatch just makes more sense when driving strongside because of how your body turns. It's easier to do and easier to shoot out of when going to your strong side.
when you shoot your shooting hand is in front of your body right? but imagine your driving down your weakside, that means your shooting hand is facing towards the hoop no? And so when you cross into your stronghand, it'll be in the back of your body, which makes it awkward to shoot, so you'd have to get an extra dribble in to change your stance, while driving on your strong side, after you crossover you only need to step back and shoot or jumper
It’s a good move to get space and time for an open look. But defenders will fall cause they try to recover. It’s bad defense. The defense already sold on the drive and gave up the shot. Why try to recover . Just live the results. You can’t defend every thing without help defense
Maybe, but the btl move helps keep it away from the defender, because in the clips their sometimes reach their hand out and they might make you lose the ball
Pushing off is not a foul if the off arm that you're pushing with is close to your body and you're close to your defender, meaning that you won't have enough room to extend that off arm. A push off should be more of a bump than an a shove. If you extend that off arm on your push off it will be an offensive foul because it will be like a stiff arm from running back in football.
Don't get pushed by James Harden when he was about to pull such a move. You would end up with a broken ankle, feel like shit, and a foul, and he would make the free throw afterward.
If you're creating contact you aren't necessarily breaking their ankles your just bodying them smh. Every single example you've shown the defender falls the moment they get pushed, shoulder checked or whatever. They aren't falling because of the cross over, so is it really an ankle breaker? An ankle breaker is when you make someone fall without contact.
A lot of the clips had no contact. A lot had minimal contact. If the push off is smooth I'd call it an ankle breaker. The move + change of direction does 80% of the work, the contact helps with the last 20% to make it even more effective. Basketball is a contact sport. Both the offense and defense can initiate contact in certain situations. Nothing wrong with that. But I respect your opinion.
If you play defense with 100% effort it will happen every once in a while. Just gotta put in work to minimize the chances of it happening. Play more, become more athletic & improve your balance.
You got it wrong Frikki. Snatching at the front is best because it uses the same mechanics as a crossover. Second thing, pushing the defender with your offhand is dirty play. I don't care if it's legal or not. Shoulder is okay if you aren't actually charging like a bull. Last. Jordan's last shot with the Bulls. I hate that shot because of the dirty hand on the defender's hip. There is no way for him to keep balance if he is shoved to the ground. It's dangerous and can cause injuries. Really tempted to downvote this one honestly. You should prioritize clean play without contact before anything. 😕
Defense can chest bump, handcheck a bit and put a forearm on your back in the post. Offense can swipe w/ their off arm, bump when driving and push a bit off. Basketball is a physical game. Don't see how the push off is any different than other ways players use contact.
Who is the GOAT at breaking ankles?
Kyrie
Nikhil Wadhawan
Hi coach if I send u my highlights would u tell my strengths and weekneses and if yes pls send your email
Kyrie and I’m not sure it’s even a question

thing is if you slow down he'd get through you, the best thing you can do is train them ankles and turn it into steel

Out of the 5 stop move, should I try to master one move first and spam that move? Or should I practice all 5 and improve slowly?
1 skill trained 1000 times is better than 1000 skills trained 1 time
Great stuff as always

when you stop, does it really have to be a BTL move? or can i just pound the ball as a stop?
Maybe, but the btl move helps keep it away from the defender, because in the clips their sometimes reach their hand out and they might make you lose the ball
R.I.P to all the defenders on this video lmao
