Nice one Gabe. I already quit my job, in process of selling my house then planning to get 5 year multi entry visa for India. Travel round the country on foot and use it as a base to explore the rest of Asia. I've travelled a fair bit but it's channels like yours that inspired me to travel more! Some financial risk but worst case scenario I just go back to my old job. Nothing to lose!

Gabriel, what I like so much about you is that you bring us along on your travels. We travel with you. You do not go somewhere and do a once-a-week travelog. You do videos constantly so that we are with you in (almost) real-time. It is great. I love traveling with you. Thank you so much! This trip to India is going to be fun. It already is!

Welcome back to India Gabe! I'm sure you won't see this comment but do consider visiting the North East someday. I know you've visited Sikkim but do visit Assam, Meghalaya, Aizawl and Arunachal Pradesh!!
I really want to visit the northeast so we'll see, maybe I will this trip but it might have to wait. I'm sure I will spend a while in the Himalayas first and then decide where to go next.

My best hack to survive this no sleep-landing in 11 am situation, is to sleep for an hour or so, survive the day till 20-21 pm and sleep like a log til 7-8am works for me every time

Gabriel you do know that most international airports have lounges? You do not need a business ticket to use the facilities… some credit cards offer an x amount of visits to airport lounges. You can even purchase a ticket to enter the lounge. Apart from food, many have comfortable lounge chairs to sleep on instead of airport floors. Some even have rooms to sleep and washrooms to shower in. You have been to so many countries and it has’t occurred to you to use a lounge in such a situation? Personally I would have flown to Beijing or Hong Kong and taken the train to Tibet to see the mountains from the other side since you have already been there. You can stop at Xi’An to view the terracotta soldiers too before continuing on to Tibet.
I've used lounges at times. I almost booked a room at the airport, good thing I didn't because it would have been at the wrong terminal. That terminal was under construction, not sure if there were any lounges open there.

I feel the need to tell you that your layover will become a delight if you have lounge access, specially in Asia. The best lounges are in Asia, great food, nice sofas ans chairs to relax. In the US not so much nowadays as most are overcrowded. Well, I hope you enjoy India.
