Gabriel , I was very pleased to see the sports group of skaters at the site you were exploring . They spoke very well ,we’re very polite, informed , and showed great respect to you ! Most called you “sir”. Someone is doing quite a good job of training those children ! I am a “boomer” from the USA, and were taught politeness , yes sir , yes ma’am ,no sir or ma’am . You should visit Kedarnath, THE most important Hindu temple in the Himalayas. 14K feet. Most powerful place. It’s like the Mecca of the Hindus. It’s an amazing hike too.

Nov 1 and heading to Leh is poor planning but might be a great adventure! Hope you make it there and back before the snow comes. I'm hooked. Good luck!
Hi Gabriel, Nice to get out and see the area these temples are also like castles or small cities. Much like different Kingdoms around India the reason for their different languages or dialects is twenty-two separate official languages and a total of 121 languages and 270 mother tongues and home to the world's oldest language Hindi or Sanskrit. This vast cultural diversity accounts for over seven hundred different languages spoken in India.
according to last census conducted in 2011 India has about 19,569 mother tongues, of which almost 1,369 are considered dialects and only 121 are recognized as languages (the acceptance criterion being that the language has 10,000 or more speakers). in 2001 census there were 780 languages and 1621 dialects in India. how come there are so much reduction in just 10 years time in languages and dialects! whatever the reason India is still the most diverse place on earth.
Very timely. My son is heading off to India for the first time early next year. He will be studying engineering in Mandi for seven weeks. I hope he takes the time to explore this beautiful region after his coursework is finished. India is awesome!

Your taxi looks like hatchback, it’s not safe for the drive from manali to spiti valley, I’ve done that circuit before, there’s snowfall and black ice now so be careful in what you go with
Yeah I'll check weather conditions and the best options for getting out there once I get to Manali. If there's a bus or jeep going then I'm sure they do the route regularly and are prepared for the conditions. Weather is all sunshine for now, it'll be cold but unlikely to snow much. I'll keep my eyes on the forecast.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos There was heavy snowfall 2 weeks ago all from manali to beyond, I lived there for 6 months so I keep getting updates from friends from there. If bus is open then they all leave for Kaza ( spiti ) around 6 am, I’d suggest to stay in manali for day or 2, route to spiti is tough but worthwhile. If you need more info bout that area lemme know. Also I’d suggest not to go to Parvati valley this year, there was heavy landslides in July so roads are in terrible condition currently
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Btw do you ride motorcycles? Cause that way it’d be much easier to do kaza or Leh, plus these destinations are often preferred to be done via riding motorcycle & ofc much cheaper that way
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Great to hear you made it, looks like they fixed roads somewhat. 2 months back Parvati valley was fully disconnected. Yea scooters won’t work for kaza. If you get time, I suggest you to travel to Triloknath. It’s on the other side of Tandi bridge when you’re on the way to keylong-leh, calm valley with no rush & has world’s only temple that Buddhist & Hindus worship together. Manali itself would be fun this time, due to landslides most tourists are not coming in this valley so you’ve rushfree zone. If you could ride bikes I’d have joined in spiti circuit
I'm sorry. I can't get past the fact that you left your big pack in a taxi with a driver you just met. You are a much great risk taker than I had previously thought. Now, all I want to know...is the guy still there waiting for you? Did he go through your stuff? The mountains are beautiful. I'm really enjoying this trip.
I vibe things out constantly when I travel. This guy was trustworthy. Also, I have him on video, and he was seen with me by lots of people at the gate of the fort. He would be risking his job and jail time if he took off with my stuff and would be easy to find. It wasn't a situation where theft was likely.
Not all cabbies are thieves. There is very little risk if you hire a cab from a Taxi Stand. This guy is known to the other cabbies and also to the police so, he will not do anything stupid.
Most of the times in North India, they have a lot of affinity towards cows so usually people feed them so I guess some people let lose their 1 or 2 cows that they own freely. Maybe to save money and energy to graze them. Usually women before making meal they make one roti for cow and often feed one of the regular cows. Also the affinity towards cows decreases when moving Southern States. There are very less cows to be seen there.
I remember on my trip to India seeing all the cows everywhere, and also lots of goats and chickens! Very different from where I live in a big city in California! 😂I loved it, though. I chose India as a destination because I wanted to experience a culture vastly different than my own.
Damn two samosas and one omlette in that dhaba for 140 bucks! I hate it when shopkeepers do this to foreigners. Also 6000 for Mandi is too much so of course he wants to take you to Spiti.

@@GabrielTravelerVideos Fun fact - Spiti Valley opened to tourism in 1992; it was shut till then even for Indians

Amazing find 18:00
How would you compare the drastic elevation gain to The High Atlas south of Marrakech?
I will never be able to travel to India. Your videos are very cool and interesting.
Perhaps you shouldn't travel anywhere.
Gabe, there's a critical mass now of your supporters that are wishing for a Gabe, Harald meet up. Can you treat us to this? Thanks in advance.
Spiti is a gem of a place! Have fun Gabe!
The Spiti Valley sounds amazing, but it is almost November... Hope you get there. I love the Kangra Fort. Kangra is not far from Dalhousie, about a 3hr drive north. I was there in the 80s and it's in my top few places I've ever been... but it's also the only part of the Himalayas I've visited.
It's November in 2.5 hours. Gonna be cold up there. 🥶
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Hey gabe, so u haven't made it up there yet?? :D yeah in winters temp in spiti can go down to -30 c!
@@GabrielTravelerVideos You might be trapped there all winter!
@@goostrey4210 That's what I hope to avoid. The forecast is all sunshine for now. Cold will be unpleasant, but more importantly I'll have to watch out for any coming snowstorms and get out beforehand.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Good luck! Whatever happens, I'm sure it will make for some amazing videos.
Will you go to Tibet
Lovely video, your biggest fan is Harald bouldar, lol,he always refers your channel on his vlog, have u been to Nainital mr Gabriel?i have never been there but i heard its beautiful,i know u went to Mussoorie and Rishikesh
Cause that way it’d be much easier to do kaza or Leh, plus these destinations are often preferred to be done via riding motorcycle & ofc much cheaper that way
I'm in Manikaran now, roads were open. I don't ride a motorcycle, just scooters. I'll be sure to get the latest info in Manali.
If you could ride bikes I’d have joined in spiti circuit

i love lord krishna 🙏❤️
Those guys who told you they are from baghpat in u.p .I'm also from Baghpat 😅
That's hilarious 😂
I wish I had Gabe's ability to vibe things out. I think I'm too naive.
@@ErvuJukl And, I can't trust anyone at all. Like The Three Little Bears, Gabe is just right lol.
@@dianeb5380 you're funny 😂

Why are cows walking around near the streets? What Do they eat ? Shouldn’t they be in a pasture eating grass somewhere?
Welcome to India, where the cows roam free. 😁
Cows will eat anything. Usually posters and paper notices and bills because they are made from plants. Also plastics, wires, rubbish... It's kinda sad
I remember on my trip to India seeing all the cows everywhere, and also lots of goats and chickens! Very different from where I live in a big city in California! 😂I loved it, though. I chose India as a destination because I wanted to experience a culture vastly different than my own.
THAT BULL AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH PRICELESS MOMENT
Will you be there for Diwali? Would be neat to see.
Duralu and Diwali have very good food and booze
yes, its an amazing festival.@@DeputyDog-mh1yo
Hey Gabe, how were the Himalayas formed?
By collision of Oceanic- Continental plates

She was, sadly she's out from adventuring for a little while with a broken hand. She just posted about it on instagram.

Very true, many Hindu people turned their backs on their own culture and history, very sad.
Damn two samosas and one omlette in that dhaba for 140 bucks! I hate it when shopkeepers do this to foreigners. Also 6000 for Mandi is too much so of course he wants to take you to Spiti.
That's like $1.50 USD, is that not cheap for breakfast?
@@christinelamb1167 Not at that type of establishment and those items.
