I think in future videos if you don't reach 100 dollars, you should give the remaining amount to the food vendor you liked best through the video. Would be fun and probably a big boost to their business if they were rewarded for making unique and amazing food!
The problem with doing this in some countries where the tip could be easily 50+ dollars, you're just making that person a target for thieves and the like. You could genuinely put that person's health and business at risk with such tips, tips they're likely to reject because of the aforementioned issue.

12:00 OMG, Indonesian also have that and I've been craving for it since it's Jakarta speciality traditional dessert. We call it kue cucur, making it is sooo hard because you need to ferment the dough & frying technique to get that shape.
I've been here for 10 years. My second year here I wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving. I go to a very good western restaurant to order turkey potatoes apple pie. this is 2015. I spent $100 dollars for this meal. I asked my Cambodian GF why no one was happy and smiling. She explained to me that the $100 I spent would have fed 2 families for 2 months. She explained that I bought an over size chicken, cheap potatoes and gravy with an apple pie at a price to feed 2 "families" for 2 months.
Westerners now days has reached a point of shallowness that they have nothing to brag about except how much money they spent on this or that .with all do respect Typical. Americans . And they get amazed by other cultural prospective thats basically less than normal for the entire non-Western world . These are family members. My information came from a rich family member. He also taught me how to bargain. I was stunned. They usually charge us 3x for anything. He told my family not to live here because American people are too nice compare to them. My friend and in-law gave me the same advise. It's a beautiful country to visit and it's affordable.
I went to Phnom Penh for work back in 2016 and it's a pretty interesting country. I live in the Philippines but I noticed how both different and similar are Cambodian dishes to Filipino food, especially the rice cakes and fruit based desserts. Would love to come back and visit Siam Reap as well.
@@borni8925that’s not banhMi, this is how we had it. You can put all the ingredients in but it’s will be too soggy due to the pickle juice and ruin the taste. There is another version which more similar to banhMi which we use Pork roll instead of real meat.

Great video, seriously the variety of Cambodian dishes in this video is amazing, like the squid teeth (more like squid gums), horse shoe crabs and the fact that Cambodia has their own version of mayo which is sweet and also towards the end the desserts are with eggs and different meats blew my mind, i think this might be the only country to successfully incorporate meat into desserts.
As a Vietnamese, i find cambodian food so good to taste, its a combination of Vietnamese food, Chinese food and Thai food which I think most SEA people can eat easily.
i remember some vietnamese chef saying, the difference between the vietnamese sandwich and the khmer sandwich is the meat. vietnamese uses more lean meat, while khmer like to use the more fatty meat. both are good tho.
@@sonievkay The bread is the exact same thing we all inherited from the Franch. About the meat yes we put all kinds of meat in the bread just like any sandwich. We even dip it in coffee or cacao drink. I think the difference is Vietnam is proud to represent it as Vietnamese food while Khmer doesn't see it as Khmer food although it is a part of our heritage and history. The bread Sonny eats in this video is stuff with cow sausage(not very common stuffing 20% ) but 80% of the time we stuff it with grilled beef ( sach ko ang )or beef/pork patte (sach patte). I see no difference between Banh mi and the Khmer Nompang dak sach because the concept of stuffing the bread with meat is literally that of bread stuff with meat. The garnishing like the pickle and papaya salad is also the same. The real difference is how we made this stuffing, garnish and pickles. Khmer don't mind when Vietnamese call Banh mi their food but some Vietnamese think that Khmer doesn't have Banh mi and it is a dish copy from Vietnam😂 They might as well think the French don't eat baguette in Cambodia during the colonial of 90 years or something😂

Hey Sonny, I appreciate you pronouncing the Capital of Cambodia as Phnom Penh and NOT Nom Penh... Phnom means mountain and nom means cookie... well anyways I appreciate and live your show, btw I was in Ho Chi Minh city in October 31st, I know you live in Vietnam, not sure if it's Ho chi minh but anyways I was also in Cambodia in November and left November 10th... both country were fun and inexpensive, if people didn't know Siem Reap Cambodia is where all the nice scenery and temples are ... its a must and after go to Pub Street, they'll love it
