      @kakurakh7365 I don't know the reason why, but I loved the food in Thailand more. Maybe it's something about the ingredients used. The street food was not for me. Seim reap in Cambodia was awesome. Pub Street is a must visit. Lots of good restaurants.

    Wow I'm Southeast Asian from Singapore but Cambodian cuisine has always been very off the radar and unfamiliar to me. In fact I don't think there are any places in Singapore serving Cambodian cuisine despite how geographically close we are. Interesting to see that the food is actually quite unique, healthy and very very colourful with the use of flowers. This just made me want to visit for the food. Kuy teav / hu tieu is definitely a dish likely created by Teochew Chinese migrants in Cambodia though

    • @marchmen
      @marchmen 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Correct. Cambodian cuisine is sort of unfamiliar, but its existence would be unique in its way. I do appreciate to see Singaporean cuisine comes into existence in Phnom Penh. Will try your cuisine one day in Cambodia or SG heheh. To some extent, Kuy Teav is a dish that is sort of influenced by Chinese migrants in Cambodia long time agoooo.

    Cambodia is easily one of the most amazing countries I've ever been. Such a tragic history which wasn't really all that long ago. People were so nice and it was the first place I got to experience Bioluminescent Plankton which i'll never ever forget. Got to try some of the best food I've ever had, but also some of the worst lol. Only complaint would've been the Cicadas, I swear they come with megaphones over there.

I grew up in Cambodia where my family ran a wedding food business for over 30 years and I got to eat a great variety of delicious food. Love all the Cambodian cuisine! The Kuy Teav Phnom Penh, Nom Banh Chok, Bok La'hong, Amok, Numpang Bate, Cha Kreung, Somlor Machu and Borbor Kreung etc... So yum yum, now I live in the USA I'm not able to eat some authentic Cambodian food like in Cambodia.

    I don't know how many people are aware of this but there currently is a somewhat online culture war going on between Thailand and Cambodia. They keep claiming that one stole some culture from another and I would like to use the opportunity of this video exploring Cambodian food (as a Thai person myself) to spread awareness and to say that I appreciate both Thai and Cambodian culture, each have their own unique food. I do not wish for the two countries to go to war over some cultural claiming.

      Yeah, as far as I can see they're different enough already, with all the hundreds years of their own developments after influencing each others for centuries, since the fall of Khmer Empire. even if there are some similarities it can't be helped. This is why I always support you, Sonny. Good introduction I like that there is a mix of humor, creating a happy atmosphere. In addition to discussing the food, you conducted interviews with locals to gain insight into and a voice for both the cuisine and the locals themselves. This effectively told the story of the food by bringing viewers into the lives of the chefs, cooks, and locals.

    Probably best Cambodian episode I’ve seen from any food show. I agree Krueng is probably what makes our food unique.

    14:38 I wonder if the chef misspoke about the age of the roasted pig. I think he meant to say it was 7 weeks old and not 7 months. At 7 months, a hog would normally be 250+ lbs.

    The content of this entire video was so much more and better than what that title and thumbnail gave off. Pretty good BEFRS episode that was actually pleasant to watch. Delicious food and wonderful introduction to the culture. I hope more of your future videos are like this instead of gross, shocking, or just controversial stuff all the time.

    Sonny deserves a lot of credit for what he does. He is so respectful with other cultures and really enjoys the culinary experience. Honestly I think he os the only person that I know bringing people together. Honestly amazing 🤩

    Thank you Sonny and team for showing our food🇰🇭 we really appreciate this. As a Cambodian, Samlor Korko (សម្លកកូរ) is one of My Most Favorite food since I was young. My mom always do it for me even it has complicated vegetable, but still Amazing food for me and most of Cambodian. Send our heart to You!
