The Simpsons: Bart meets Radioactive Man was also made in is honor. Both games were released in December '92. He worked on a couple of games before that.

Tom B. Heidt had both Home Alone and Bartman Meets Radioavtice Man commemorating him. They were both released in December '92. He worked on both games, although he seemingly died July 27th of '92.
the reason ha 2 shares a jump sound with the nes simpsons games despite different developers is because all of them were farmed out to the same contractor, Imageneering Inc, which ironicly was run by former activision staff.
Best intro song of all times in my opinion.

The beginning of this episode always cracked me up. The first part was from a collaboration he did with another show that didn’t have foul language, hence “crappy” and “poop”. Then once the credits roll, he immediately lets us know we’re watching an AVGN episode by naming the N-E-FUCKIN’-S. 😂

I know this is old news, but the 2 companies mentioned are completely wrong.
Acclaim and THQ were publishers to their respected games. Both Bart vs. the Space Mutants and Home Alone 2 were developed for the NES (and SNES for Home Alone) by Imageering, a former in-house studio of Absolute Entertainment. Imageering was known for developing many games for 3rd party publisher, including Acclaim and THQ.
R.I.P. THQ.

Publishers and developers are usually not the same in the video game world, and that holds true here. This was, in fact, made by the company that did the _Bart vs..._ games.

This is my favorite AVGN episode.
I used to have the SNES version of this. Sounds like it was a bit more functional than the NES version but it wasn't a good game by any means.

The two games have similar sounds because they both had the same development team (both were developed by Imagineering)
I remember playing this game and I had no problem with the elevators. I just waited there long enough. Until the elevator dropped me off, and then I got confused as shit.

God, I remember playing the Game Boy version of this as a kid. It took forever for me to figure out the elevator thing too. This game is infuriating in every way, and I was honestly well above the target age when I played it, so that should say something about how successful it was (not at all).

The reason why the games has the same sound is a long story, but THQ was founded by the same Guy who founded LJN and LJN was bought 1987 by acclaim and I believe THQ still had some assets from LJN and used them. Also, the dead developer who’s name you see in the in memory of message was a developer from Acclaim and LJN who died earlier that year.
I think that story is better than the game.

I actually played this game all the time and loved it. I was allways an SNES guy.
The thing I hated was the elevator. It was just too hard to deal with, and we played like a million times before we figured out that you just had to go through it.
