Very good to see goals being achieved and the cooperation in the community of watch enthusiasts. That style is amazing and highly versatile, and the brand is excellent of course. Regarding the gold, although i agree on its softness i couldn't avoid remember the diver Bret Gilliam, whose pure gold Submariner was mentioned in Hodinkee. The man was savage with his watch, using it tru to its original function as a diving tool - despite the precious metal; it was even damaged by a shark.
36 mm subtle & functional elegance ... a gentleman's watch wear it in good health ! Produced from 1969 onwards, as Tudor introduced the Shield logo replacing the Tudor Rose, these Oyster Prince Date+Day came in both 36 mm and 37,5 mm Jumbo, the largest TUDOR watches in the Prince line.
Hello Tim, it is a marvelous watch. I bought mine end of December 2021, my plan was to get the Arabic numerals with the black dial, but I was just one or two days too late. So I bought exactly your model from Hong Kong and I was one of the last people to get one. Honestly I fell in love with the golden dial. Nice video and enjoy your Tudor
I have a 36mm black bay in steel and gold with the black dial, now discontinued. the subtle brushed gold finish on it makes it my favorite two tone watch. I do love this day date too though! good presentation
Great watch. My suggestion to secure one of these would be to opt for the slightly earlier version. These had a Rolex signed crown and caseback. They are still pretty available and affordable, which I think is odd considering how much of an oddity they are. You won’t see anything like that again from the Rolex/Tudor family.
I have an older version of this watch on an aftermarket leather strap. It has a plexiglass crystal, but I really like this watch. I have always wanted a Rolex Day Date, but this is probably as close as I am going to get.
Brilliant video Tim - keep it up. Congratulations on the NWA- I love this reference and have the black dial version which I did a review of on the Scottish Watches Watches: Unboxed TH-cam channel.
Great review Tim. I love this series from Tudor and have the version with the black California dial and an older version with a stunning gold linen dial with Rolex signed crown and case. Hope you enjoy wearing yours!
Stunning watch. I almost bought the same one just a few months back. The 36mm Date Days were going for $2200 and the 34mm Dates were going for around $2k.
I have often thought about finding a Tudor Prince like that. So much better than the Style or Glamour lines and a better size than the Royal at 38mm plus you get the cyclops which is a bonus for my aging eyes. Fantastic watch, Tim.
Funny you post this video today, I just bought mine yesterday on C24. Exact same configuration than yours except I went for romans. Exceptional piece, all the best from vintage Datejusts + a day complication which like you said is only reserved to precious metal pieces at Rolex side. Not only you don't need full gold for the softness of it but also for its weight. It's even worse with platinum. Even the bracelet is better engineered and will avoid too much stretch since articulations of the links are made of SS instead of hollowed gold links on the DJ. Great review, great video :)
Congratulations, Tim. It's gorgeous, isn't it? I just got mine too in March (2 tone datejust with champagne dial) after hearing rumours about its discontinuation.
Beautiful piece and two tone is back. Im so glad I pulled the trigger on a 76213-0016 last November from jetco instead of waiting. They are getting harder to find now
Great watch, I have one of these with the white dial and gold romans. Picked it up about a year ago - old new stock from a HK seller. This is my favourite watch and I'm never going to sell it. I think it really stands on its own feet despite obvious comparisons to the datejust/day date, given you can get configurations in this watch that you can't get with rolex. The serviceability of the ETA is excellent too. Enjoy the watch.
I have this exact watch. It's a beauty and still available to buy in the far east, brand new. Mine is a fully refurbished 1997 model. Which means it has the rolex motif on the case, crown etc - Never need another watch, its that good. Folded jubilee bracelet in the old rolex style unfortunately but very comfortable and lightweight
I have the salmon version of that exact same dial with white gold bezel and that steel bracelet w/o the gold. I love this watch! There no way I am spending 30k on a Rolex day date (if I ever do, it will be the green dial with gold romans - love that watch.
I adore it CBTim. One of my favourite watch designs. Ever. A surprising amount of presence too. I have a Ricoh Dynamic, which is a vintage day-date copy and even on my 7.75” wrist it wears fine. I really think I need to consider buying myself one of these. A not unrealistic goal if I’m patient and dedicated. Congratulations Tim. I love it and it’s very ‘you’. Edit: I have a thing for the vintage style, light weight bracelets and clasps too. I buy them from Strapsco. May not be the newest tech, but comfort wise? I love a bit of jingle-jangle!!
The Vice President! Congratulations! Love Tudor two tones. I own a Black Bay S&G and hoping to get my grubby hands on the 36 S&G as an Explorer two tone alternative.
Thank you for the great review! I've found a couple of new Prince Date Day watches on Jetco again, assume it's back in stock? Would you advise to buy from there?
Congrats, beautiful watch. I am currently in consolidation phase, so I am selling a lot of watches from my collection as I want to add a couple of grails of mine in the near future, one of them is the Rolex Tridor, which this Tudor looks very similar to.
@@sebastientrippelsdorf3705 Hey Sébastien, yes I have a couple of vintage watches for sale. Eldor Chronograph, Alpine dress watch and a couple of others as well.

Wonderful little watch. Great style. I'm not a fan of Rolex's and family's cyclops, but that's just my personal taste: it is very practical, and it is a defining trait of the Rolex family.
I would definitely buy a linen dial one but prices went up alot if you look at the big uhrforum over 150 pages now since 2020. Feel like missing a boat by a huge margin as you did.
What a great watch. Really beautiful. Had to laugh a little when you showed the bracelet, thinking of that endless train of watchyoutubers complaining about pressed clasps with no microadjusts on 200 dollar watches.
Hello Hernn Tim would you please help me as I am looking exactly for the same Tudor 76213 What would be a fair price to pay for a good condition used one Thank you Al
You can find the Date Day regularly stocked at The Watch Company (TWC) in Japan as well as "Jack Road" another very well known and regarded watch dealer in Japan .
The Date Day that I want is the same model but with the blue dial and the bezel in white yellow gold, so much gold is too much for me :) Unfortunately, the rise in prices that you have mentioned has doubled, or tripled, the price :(
The Date Day is still in production and has been for the past 40+ years. There are some 20+ variants to this model and listed on Tudor's website for the Asia region. Since 2020 these models run-on on the T603 movement (base Sellita).
I have the all steel version with silver dial...I love the watch, what still really bugs me is, that Tudor castrated the lug tips compared to the Rolex version of this case. They cut the very ends off...makes the case a bit more stubby and less elegant than its Rolex siblings. Older variants of this watch didn't have that thou.
Lol if you were listening production stopped a decade ago which means no new ones are being made, there aren't any "mint" watches available. Can find ones in very good condition but mint isn't a thing anymore.
This is too weird... I literally bought the same model with black dial today on Chrono24. This watch is true treasure considering it's been discontinued and I doubt Tudor will make a fluted bezel watch for a while now.
Helo, this watch very good i liking it because it can be watch. İ want buy becaus it is not to money for me budged. thanks for this. good bye and how much money this is.
Its funny because not that long ago in the European market these watches when they were rolex/tudor hybrids (such as they were) were not very desirable and viewed as the poor man's rolex. 20+ years later they are very desirable!
Oh hey! My former watch! Thanks for showcasing the watch. It looks great on you. If anyone needs to do a deal with Tim, he is a true gentleman.
