  • “We went to Urgent Care just to rule out like a stress fracture. From that moment on, everything changed.” - Claire’s Mom
From that moment on, Claire would no longer just be a typical kid. Claire would be a little girl with bone cancer. Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, Claire’s mother searched for an option that would save her daughter’s leg from amputation. Amanda Cooper just didn’t want to believe that amputation was the only answer, especially for a little girl who eats, sleeps and breathes gymnastics. Amanda wanted her daughter to have a chance to grow up, grow tall. Amanda's unwavering perseverance for answers led the family to Nationwide Children's Hospital where Dr. Kim Bjorklund (bit.ly/48pWk1O) specializes in pediatric microsurgery and collaborates with a team of world-renowned pediatric oncologists to give children options beyond amputation. For Claire, it was the perfect combination of expertise and the results weren't just lifesaving. They were life changing.
