Holdo was able to use light speed to ram the ship because Snoke's flagship had a light speed tracking device that basically created a small light speed bubble. It got hit, and transferred all of that energy into normal space (and all of the ships in its path).
Tim Earls set the CGI size figures from season 5 onward. That made the White Star bigger, and probably the Centauri ships as well. Earthforce stayed about the same.
It might have been Interesting to see two of the first order escort ships do something that resembled the Picard manoeuver. I know I know, wrong universe! However it would make about as much sense as the rest of the film. Jar Jar is back and he is one of the writers, He-sir killing the franchise from behind the scenes
I heard a theory on the Raddus ramming technique, based around the very sensor that was used to track the Resistance ships. Since the sensor basicly created a warp bubble WITHIN Snoke's Dreadnaught, what we have is a ramming attack that intended to use the mass shadow of it's target to get close enough to last till it rammed the other ship, but instead slammed into an un-anticipated warp-bubble, with the energy bleed-off and explosion as matter inter-connected for a moment with matter destroying the surrounding ships and sundering one "wing" off the target ship. I seriously doubt the Dreadnaught is down for the count, as the pieces just have to be stabalized long enough to re-attach them (mind you, that will be no quick job). Mind you, the real reason is it just looked too cool not to do, but that might explain it "in universe." Just my .02 credits.
They don’t use the hyperspace ram tactic often because it doesn’t do as much damage as you would think. The Raddus did the amount of damage that it did is because of its advanced shields. The Raddus sliced open the supremacy but during that the Shields were disconnected from the generator and thrown forward into the rest of the fleet at the same speed the Raddus was going during its collision with the supremacy.
Admiral Ackbar should've been the one doing the suicide run. Why? Because that is something he would do without a second thought. Until like a certain Vice Admiral who just appeared for no reason other then to be a bitch because she and Leia were lovers for like one night and haven't gotten over it. So she takes the resistance's flagship The Raddus and uses it as a lightspeed ram. It is too bad that Vice Admiral Holdo didn't die on her own ship.
‘Whose the ones who put solar panels on their ship’. The same people who neglect their pilot’s safety by not including shields or life support. Didn’t think about that did you ben
Lucas Clark Exactly. They care more about the (space) environment than they do people, just like a real San Francisco Liberal, unless of course it's an "undocumented" alien.
I liked the ships in the Resistance Fleet; i didn't like that those 4 ships were the only ships in the Resistance Navy when compared to the Rebel Navy. I know they were trying to make the Resistance look more desperate than the Rebel Alliance, but still.
Great video Ben! I really enjoyed when you mention how Eco friendly the First Order is. Continue to spread the truth that the First Order is really the good guys and are Eco friendly!
in 10+ years when we all are already over bitching over everything we will look back and say every single ship name and have them on the top of our heads because its starwars. Why do we even cara about original trilogy ships if they never EVER appear again (capitalships)?
I really felt that the Resistance should have had a few Resurgent-class ships of its own since the New Republic should have confiscated the assets and resources of Kuat Drive Yards and Sienar Fleet Systems and build its own fleet - without needing any Mon Calamari assistance. The Raddus should have been an addition star cruiser and not the flagship.
"Where as the Northeastern United States is like Hoth right now." As someone who lives in Chicago and spent vacation in New York City I can affirm that this is true.
The _Harmony of the Seas_ once held the title of largest passenger liner in the world, being recently surpassed by the _Symphony of the Seas._ As for gun turrets on the _Titanic,_ it's not that far off, because her nearly-identical sister ship _Olympic_ had some on her during her service as a troopship during the First World War.
My fix for the plot gap that everyone speaks of when talking about the hyperspace ramming is that for some reason the first order dropped support for interdiction field technology which would have formally been included in both rebel and imperial starships. (An interdiction field generator prevents a ship from entering hyperspace or pulls it out of hyperspace when inside of its field, which the imperials would have surely been smart enough to do with the death star)
I know right. Rose's sister was hanging in the bomb room, meaning there's artificial gravity in the room that can propel the bombs. The official explanation made it into more of a EM gun though
Chris, if you have something that is mass enought in space, then it is possible for it to have alittle bit of gravity. That is something that NASA talking about to use to move debris or asteroids with satellite sized things. I mean they will use them as small tug boats. Also, if we see on a ship from Star Wars, then there is most likely artificial gravity as we seem the crew walking around and so on. That gravity field might be just big enought to effect the bombs from the bombers. Beside we also see how close those bombers fly to the ships before they releasing the bombs
Storm Commando That and it could have it's "own gravity". It is hard to explain what I mean, but it is possible. Heck NASA had even talk about using satellite sized crafts to use as "tug boats" when we talking about old debris, space junk or small asteroids. Try to watch It's Okay To Be Smart's video about asteroid mining and space junk. He is coming in on it about "tug boats" and mico gravity in those two videos
Agreed, it's all gloomy and mucky, especially during the christmas season. You can barely see any sunlight and vacating in Southeast Asia like Thailand would be a good choice for Brits
I love how you point out that the bombs would keep going because, well, space, but then don't worry about how silly it is that the ships would stop if they ran out of fuel because, well, Rian Johnson lol
Addressing the hyperspace ram, I think the reason it's never been done before is that there's probably HUNDREDS of safety features installed in hyperdrives specifically to prevent that.
My theory about the hyperspace ram is that it was basically a Hail Mary pass that wasn't even guaranteed to work. I also imagine that, given how much damage was done by it, hyperspace engines are built by the companies that make them with multiple redundancies to work around becuase can you imagine the disasters that would be caused if something like that happened by accident? Also, and this is just how I remember the scene in my head so I may be wrong, the Raddus was aimed roughly dead center at the Supremacy, yet it went through the starboard wing instead. That could easily explain why this isn't used as a common tactic by the Resistance; imprecise, and can't be done on a whim. Oh, and also capital ships are expensive, and when you're already running low... That's just how I see it though. And regardless, that scene was FUCKING AWESOME! So totally worth it. :)
Holdo isn't the first to fly a ship into something at Lightspeed, Anakin programmed the Malevolence to hit the Dead moon of Antar the same way, however the moon's sheer size, coupled with the Malevolence's incomplete Jump probably saved it from being torn to shit
Personally I think the reason this is the first time we’ve seen this tactic is because of one thing essential to hyper drives: gravity wells. They’re why interdictor cruisers work, and are a built in safety for hyperdrives. This is the first battle we’ve seen that’s in the middle of space, not a planet’s orbit. (The DS-1 and Starkiller base would both have a gravity well, because Starkiller is a planet, and the Death Star is the size of a small moon), but this doesn’t include that BS Han did in the Force Awakens to get past the shield.
The reason the hyperspace ramming won't work on the Death Star is because it's large enough to produce it's own gravity field that would rip it out of hyperspace. The Raddus was their largest ship and it din't even destroy Snokes ship, merely a portion of it but the rest was still functional.
As for why they couldn't use lightspeed to destroy the death star, I remember reading in star wars 'legends' when I was a kid something about hyperdrives being sensitive to gravitational pulls, automatically deactivating once close to a gravitational field generated by a planet or moon. This is also how imperial ships could grapple ships out of hyperspace, by creating powerful artificial gravity wells to trick hyperdrives into activating this safety feature. However in star wars canon han solo clearly explains that you could ram into a planet at lightspeed if you didn't plot the course correctly....sooo....idk. To be honest star wars has too many plotholes to explain but we love it so much we keep trying to make excuses for our favorite series.
Last week in Wisconsin it was -15 but now it's 43. It finally started snowing the day of Christmas and it won't be snowing anymore so good winter. Btw glad you are back with this great content
For the bombs dropping the bombs should actually float down towards the target ship because of its gravity. The gravity would make the bombs float slower but it’s still work.
Harrison Rothacher It would literally take days for the bombs to meet with the hull of any ship through the power of said ship's gravity alone. So, that's an extremely non-feasible design or principle to use.
Sean Allison If you did that, then the bombs wouldn't be moving due to the force of gravity. They would be moving because of the momentum they gained from being launched. If you're going to waste the energy to "launch" explosive ordinances, you may as well go all out and make them go faster by using missiles instead.
Breeze Cornelius well theoretically, if the ship is producing greater gravity than that of space, the amount of force released once it hits the gravity of the ship will cause the bomb to fall slightly faster than vacuum speed. Then again Star Wars is a Science-Space Fantasy, not traditional Sci-Fi, it doesn’t really matter.
The gravity machines in the bombers that allow them to walk is also the gravity that allows the bombs to drop into space and space has no friction so it continues to fall to its target
Mass difference is why it would have been a pee shooter on Starkiller and the Deathstars. It took out a ship of the same class as the Super Star Destroyer (Executor) from the original trilogy, but at the cost of one of the biggest ships they had. When The Executor got A-WInged in the bridge and collided with Deathstar Mk. 2.0, it caused damage, but it didn't even knock the the main weapon offline and destroyer the cheese wedge of doom. Starkiller base was many orders of magnitude bigger than the second Deathstar, so it would have likely did nothing to the base. The rebellion barely even knew that the first Deathstar existed a few days earlier and they had just sent most of their reserve fleet to the attack Scarif just to get the plans. Plans that they didn't get a chance to go over until the shortly before it came right for them. Knowing what little they did, the correct tactical move would be to send all of your fleet away from the base in case there was no way to stop the death machine at the time and you had no evacuation plan that was fast enough. The Hoth evac worked because they had the Ion Cannon and the shield generator. Not having one, but the other, was shown not to work in The Last Jedi. And before you start to even mention the original Deathstar, since it was smaller, the current and previous cannon show that the rebellion didn't have much of a fleet to spare and that station was fully completed and excellently defended against capital ship and bomber attack. Palpatine, the Emperor, prioritized the main weapon to be operational AND it was still behind schedule so that he could use the station to pincer move the entire rebel fleet. The fighter attack was the fasted and best tactical move the Rebellion had. BTW, of the many screw ups Tarkin made was not calling in as much of the Imperial fleet as possible for the Battle of Yavin and it was his biggest failure. Thrawn wouldn't have made that mistake. Then again, Thrawn would not have built the Deathstar when he could have had way more capital ships, ground troops, and Imperial Agents for the same cost.
Generation Tech I have a suggestion for a next video. Earth is discovered, while finding a new Hyperspace lane. The Empire sends a few Star Destroyers to this unknown planet. The Admiral of the small fleet sends a message to Earth, saying they want to meet with the highest Government leaders. Grand Moff Tarkin is chosen as the representative of The Empire. Grand Moff Tarkin gives a speech to the whole Earth, saying that they can join The Empire & become part of something greater. For a brief moment Tarkin considered giving Earth an ultimatum, however in order to get on their good side, he chose diplomacy. With so many people living on this planet, they would be a great asset to The Empire. Tarkin said in his speech that even outcast are allowed join. Homeless people dropped dramatically across the U.S, crime rates took a nose dive across the world. Since no nation "owns" the moon, nobody minded when The Empire decided to build a shipyard around the moon.
The rebel cruisers crashed into The Star Destroyer while trying to hyperspace away in Rogue One. Guess Vader has plot armor against hyper space ramming.
3:30 I actually prefer the Rebels being outside the Galactic Plane of the Galaxy looking at there home galaxy or one of the 2 orbiting galaxies witch this seen was originally supposed to be. It shows how prescient and strong the Empire is, driving the Rebels outside of the Galaxy in order to hide from the might of the imperial navy.
Yes, ships cost money but does it cost as much as they tend to lose when trying to destroy these super weapons conventionally? If they crashed a single fighter sized ship at x times the speed of light into Starkiller, that base would be gone. Same with the dreadnaught, which they instead lost like 10 bombers and dozens of crew. At Endor, the DS 2 blew up I think 2 MC 80s before it was destroyed. Point being, these battles would be over much faster and with fewer allied casualties if they just hyperspaced into these things. Which is a big problem because that scene in TLJ undermines every space battle ever fought in both canon and legends.
Putting a few gun turrets and heavy armour on the Titanic That's what the Titanic's sister ships, Olympic and Britannic, did during ww1, while the Olympic survived the war and returned to civilian services until 1929, the Britannic struck a mine in Greece and sunk faster than the Titanic did but with a lot less casualties
The problem with the bomber, even if they explained the bombs dropping, is it just doesn't make sense for a ship. It moves slow, has no protection, you have to "line it up" manually. Seems like a ship that took 100 steps back technology wise.
That's true. But Y-Wings are strike bombers and wouldn't do much damage to the Dreadnought...plus having already been missing 80% of their armor at the Battle of Yavin, they'd have been about as useful as those speeders on Crait. Due to the fact that they were all already falling apart and there probably weren't many that were combat-worthy. The SF-17s are much better armored and with a better payload. But they are heavier and slower which is why Poe needed to take out the guns first.
You're probably right, but there would have surely been some next generation form of them, like Y-Wing-B class or something. Also, in the rebellion, i believe they purposely stripped the armor from the Republic Version to have better access to the inner workings make them to more easily repair them
That's exactly what they did. And the models we saw in the Battle of Yavin ARE the newest models that we've seen. They didn't have the bubble turret, and some of them didn't have the turret at all. Plus with the Resistance not having much money, it was probably more cost effective to go with straight-up bombers rather than Fighter/Bombers.
Y-wings won't do much damage but Poe's X-wing single-handedly destroyed all the surface turrets... It's like the Star Destroyer forgot to turn on shields.
He is right! The cross section is a really good book! Loads of cool images and facts! I do recommend it! I'm guessing that you will do it anyway but could you do real size of star wars ships for the first order?
I came up with a theory regarding why no one has Hyperspace attacked anything before. I think it has to do with the fact that The Supremacy and The Raddus were travelling along a Hyperspace lane in real space, allowing them to jump into the lane and crash into the supremacy, Something that wouldn't be possible to any other ship that wasn't on a lane. Another Theory I've heard is that the Supremacy was half in Hyperspace the whole time for the Hyperspace tracking to work.
Because the mc 85 was destroyed smashing through similar sized ships. The excutor crashed into the second death star and it did pretty much nothing, so I doubt the rebels had a large enough ship to even make a decent dent in the death star.
Does no one realize the bombers would still work at dropping bombs without the magnet thing? They had artificial gravity inside as Paige Tico fell down that ladder as well as the control that dropped the bombs! So there was gravity inside the ships which means once released the bombs would fall anyway!
Tbch I'm pretty sure no one hyperspace rams because: it WILL kill your ship, you may just cut through your enemy, no one's thought of it, usually ship's auto-slow-down after a jump, they don't know where the thing is, and worse, if they miss, they'll be flung around the galaxy, miss, and probably lose a ship. That and "conventional" warfare usually won't have most of these risks.
He asks why didn't they use a ramming attack against the Death Star? Probably because, although it probably would've caused heavy damage, the Death Star is so massive it wouldn't have been destroyed.
Actually there IS kind of such a thing as "slapping some guns and armor onto the Titanic" They're called "armed merchant cruisers. The Titanic's sister ship, the Olympic, was also armed during the First World War!
3 things i have problems with in this video, apart from them it's really good. 1) For fucks sake, Leia didn't fly, she used the force to pull herself back to the ship. You can't fly 2)They didn't do a Hyperspace Kamikaze at the Death Star because the fleet was still recovering from Scarif and a Hyperspace attack might have not even gotten far enough through the armor of the Death Star to destroy it. 3) The Resistance didn't use a Hyperspace attack at Starkiller base because all they had to work with at the time was X-wings. Do you really think an X-wing could get all the way through to the core of the planet? And even if it could it would be nothing but some fragments of metal that would be incinerated before they made contact.
"they could've just put an astromech droid at the helm" if what's left of the resistance can fit in the milenium falcon i don't think they have any left except for R2 and BB-8 plus we don't see any during the evacuation of the radus and the escape from crait and who know maybe Holdo survived in an escape pod before raming the First Order fleet
A 3.5 km ship is able to take out 60 km ship plus another 4 or 5 first order star destroyers. My real question is, why not weaponize that? A kinetic hyperdrive missile would make large ships impossible. Maybe for something the size of the supremacy it might take a dozen of these missiles, but they'd be less costly than a complete ship with fuel tanks, life support and living space. Make several of these missles the size of rebel transports.
OspreyKnight that's some quite nice thinking actually. Maybe because they are all one way you could fix them together with any type of junk. The only problem is that a hyperdrive is quite expensive and complex. It wouldn't be liked to think of them being built just for one use.
Expensive yes, but it's the same reason ISIS uses vbieds(vehicle borne improvised explosive device) against tanks. Its cheaper than a cruiser and can take down cruisers with ease. An effective defense would be a gravity well projector(such as those on the interdictor), however activating it means you're stuck there and all anyone has to do is wait you out.
That question "My real question is, why not weaponize that?" is why you should NEVER weaponize your FTL method in a Universe you want to continue telling war stories in. You make up some reason it would not work and never address it again. Relativistic Kill Vehicles (RKV's are used in a lot of sci-fi universes as weapons of mass destruction) would be the only real viable weapon once you do go that route. Hyperdrives are not expensive to build at all as there are trillions of them flying around in the galaxy since every ship, government, corporate or private owned, that travels to different systems has them. Heck even junk dealers on Tattoine will have one lying around you could buy. Even small ships like X-Wings have them and they are a slight bit smaller than some U.S. Military fighter jets. It was a beautiful scene on the screen and a total debacle for the Universe itself. Also that ship would not have just cut thru the other fleet it would have utterly obliterated it at anything close to lightspeed. A 5400 Kilogram X-Wing traveling at 99% the speed of light would have the kinetic energy equivalent to 750000+ Megatons of TNT when I plug in the numbers in an relativistic kinetic energy equation. That would be about the same as 15000 of the largest nuke ever tested, the Czar Bomba which was about 50 Megatons. That is one small fighter. A multi kilometer ship like the Radiss would have had billions upon billions of megatons of energy at 99% lightspeed. Not only would there be nothing left of that entire fleet, parts of that fleet would be spraying out at lesser, but still relativistic, speeds in all directions from its destruction and would have hit the fleeing transports and that would end the whole resistance right there. Hell, a Bowling ball at 99% lightspeed would destroy any city in the world that it hit.
adarian on point. Like I said before the only defense in the SW universe would be gravity well projectors, but those keep you from jumping too, at which it becomes a race for the faster spoolup of your hyperdrive if you need to flee. Given one of the biggest problems with the SW universe is that the scale of the war is microscopic compared to what it would actually take. People give 40k shit for their ludicrous numbers, but I'd argue that even their numbers are low to what an actual galactic war would be. I mean, you're going to take back the galaxy with a number of ships I can count on one hand? Not likely.
My question is why didn't they use the smaller ships as light speed battering rams just before they ran out of fuel? They could have sent all the transports to the flag ship and then turned around and BOOM...Light speed explosion!
So they created about 5 new ships for the new movie and destroyed them all
Disney money hell yea
Next up they destroy the mellenium falcon and build a new ship and destroy that one too.
And they destroyed the Supremacy. Such a shame
Darth Vader Yeah Snoke's ship is gone. :(
Correction: _about a third_ of Snoke's ship is gone.
"...pussied out because he still loves his Mom." Priceless!
gpgpgpgp1000 That is obviously not true he bailed out because of ADMIRAL ACKBAR
I have AT-ATs outside my window all day long here in Minnesota.
Lone Diamond Productions here in New Mexico i have jawas to deal with
I have snowtroopers trying to take over my naberhud. Im not leting them
We Have Tusken Raiders in Nevada
Lone Diamond Productions omg I live in Minnesota
In UK we got many Wookiees and many more Ewoks.
Ben got "distracted" quite a lot...
You should've added the scene from Guardians V2 where Yondu shouts "I'm Mary Poppins Y'all"
Metalworker14 Lol
LOL
Glad you are back Ben! Great video as always. Now get back to work, you've been missed :)
k he is my vavorite imperial
My Lord
The Rebels are deep frying the ewaks without us sir
that impossible get the cooking butter we shall show them how hard we can fry those little teddy bears
Yes my lord

I got deployed on an at-at in the us its cold af
CrabbierBull 391 Canada is way colder
Canada is real hoth
not Alaska is hoth
Well Canada and Alaska are both very cold
If you go way up north it's colder then Alaska
CrabbierBull 391 finland is hoth too

Me - Hi friends welcome back to generation tech my name is Alan.
*Shows Ben*
Me - Oh it's Ben now cool!
Totally did the same thing
like alan way more
Alan is awesome.... he's actually made me "LOL" out loud
All hail Alan
I’d say Alan is more interesting... and actually fun... this is just pure facts that are boring... honestly... Alan should create a different TH-cam channel doing the same thing about Star Wars.... I’m tired of “ Ben” to boring
Admiral Ackbar should have been the one to sacrifice himself and destroy Snoke's ship.
wow now that you say it i think that would be the best death that i could imagine for him
It's all about female heroes......
Screw this social justice warfare. Admiral Ackbar was cheated out of the death he deserved.
It propably wouldn't have been very tasteful to have a character named 'Ackbar' participate in a suicide bombing...
Holdo was able to use light speed to ram the ship because Snoke's flagship had a light speed tracking device that basically created a small light speed bubble. It got hit, and transferred all of that energy into normal space (and all of the ships in its path).
That makes no sense. That makes perfect sense. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!
Surprisingly logical, if confirmed.
It was mainly the shields
Hello there
Obi-Wan Kenobi all we need now is general grevious saying general kenobi
Obi-Wan Kenobi GENERAL KENOBI!
Hello there...
Obi-Wan Kenobi YOU ARE DOOMED
Your move
im dissapointed you didnt actually show the resistance bomber next to a B17
Real size of Babylon 5 starships. And Generation Tech please the likes tell you to do it.
Barry Bend Yes 100%
Tim Earls set the CGI size figures from season 5 onward. That made the White Star bigger, and probably the Centauri ships as well. Earthforce stayed about the same.
fine do whatever to heck you want i just want to see how big the at m6 is

Who else would have rather seen leia do the light speed suicide instead of holdo
yeah would have made more sense too considering she can't be in the next movie now
Generation Tech or Admiral Ackbar
I don't think it would be in Leia's character to make a suicide run, Ackbar would have been a better choice. Let him go down with his ship.
Generation Tech but if she did that suicide maneuver, we never would have gotten that closure scene with Luke in the bunker on Crait
The Disney Princess powers is strong in her. General Ackbar was the one that got shafted the hardest.
I had no idea it was that big. I always thought the GR-74 looks a lot like Thunderbird 2 ( from The Thunderbirds)
the Vigil is 497 metres. The GR-75 is little more than 90, so slightly bigger than Thunderbird 2 I guess.
I don't understand. Why don't the resistance use the MC-80 HOME ONE or MC-80 LIBERY CLASS any more ??
Because they’re old and obsolete.
Nobody has any use for them anymore.
But I still like the HOME ONE
Outdated
They gave them all to the New Republic but were all destroyed with the new republic capital.
Luke Skywalker too bad
Welcome back Ben may the force be with you
Ben,you've got to admit, that lightspeed kamikaze holdo did was awsome
The Raddus should have been the Home One, it would have made that scene more poignant.
Admiral Ackbar should've been the one doing the suicide run. Why? Because that is something he would do without a second thought. Until like a certain Vice Admiral who just appeared for no reason other then to be a bitch because she and Leia were lovers for like one night and haven't gotten over it. It is too bad that Vice Admiral Holdo didn't die on her own ship.
@@JustTooDamnHonest it's ok, Feloni and Favreau are working to erase the Disney sequels from canon.
Corvette = 300 meter. Frigate= 500 meter. Heavy Cruiser= 3.5 km. Sounds like the old Anaxes system changed. (well that's legends.)
That's good,it shows that there is still progress
Dank User Light Cruiser= 1.75km Battlecruiser= 5.5km. Battleship 8.25-10km. Carriers (totally purpose built for Starfighters)= 7.6km
amazingly done
‘Whose the ones who put solar panels on their ship’. The same people who neglect their pilot’s safety by not including shields or life support.
Didn’t think about that did you ben
Lucas Clark Exactly. They care more about the (space) environment than they do people, just like a real San Francisco Liberal, unless of course it's an "undocumented" alien.
Actually the first order has shields and life support on their fighters. Poe and Finn fly in one of the commando variants in TFA without pilot suits.
Yeah, I think you're confused with the Empire. Do some research before trying to make others look dumb.
SquareBlock Studios oh ye, good point
I'm not trying to start anything, just reminding you to check your facts before putting down a comment. I'll admit, I put it rudely. No disrespect.
I missed you Ben 🤩
Welcome back 🎉🎉🎉🎉
LoL, the hypermatter annihilator reactor ran out of fuel ?!?! Thanks RJ.
Are you and engineer from the Star Wars universe? If not, dont act like one. We dont know how their stuff works.
Welcome back Ben
Thanks for introducing ships that didn’t survive and we’ll never have to care about again!
in 10+ years when we all are already over bitching over everything we will look back and say every single ship name and have them on the top of our heads because its starwars. Why do we even cara about original trilogy ships if they never EVER appear again (capitalships)?

"Where as the Northeastern United States is like Hoth right now." As someone who lives in Chicago and spent vacation in New York City I can affirm that this is true.
I love the StarFortress and it's WWII bomber look. The worthy successor of the Y-Wing.

People talking about how the bombers cant work in space is really giving me a headache. Like try to use the logic in it
I know right. Rose's sister was hanging in the bomb room, meaning there's artificial gravity in the room that can propel the bombs. The official explanation made it into more of a EM gun though
So there's gravity underneath a gaping metal grating with an empty, possibly shielded hole beneath it?
Chris, if you have something that is mass enought in space, then it is possible for it to have alittle bit of gravity. That is something that NASA talking about to use to move debris or asteroids with satellite sized things. I mean they will use them as small tug boats. Also, if we see on a ship from Star Wars, then there is most likely artificial gravity as we seem the crew walking around and so on. That gravity field might be just big enought to effect the bombs from the bombers. Beside we also see how close those bombers fly to the ships before they releasing the bombs
I am also referring to Paige being able to walk on the grating, not just how the bombs fall to the target.
I am from the UK and that is a lot of shit it's cold and rainy place
Agreed, it's all gloomy and mucky, especially during the christmas season. You can barely see any sunlight and vacating in Southeast Asia like Thailand would be a good choice for Brits
Midlands are a bit cold and drizzly at present. Brief snow prior Christmas. Summers can be great!
In the movie, MC-85 seems to be smaller than Resurgent-class Star Destroyers and Finalizers, which were both 2,9km long.

When you crack open the boys with a cold one
Ben, you sir are a legend
Thank the Force, Ben is back!
Rey: You dont have to be alone anymore Ben!
Kylo: But Rey, i've always BEN SOLO B)
Last week in Wisconsin it was -15 but now it's 43. It finally started snowing the day of Christmas and it won't be snowing anymore so good winter. Btw glad you are back with this great content
For the bombs dropping the bombs should actually float down towards the target ship because of its gravity. The gravity would make the bombs float slower but it’s still work.
Harrison Rothacher that would take a long ass time tho
Obi-Wan Kenobi not if you apply enough force when you launch it
Harrison Rothacher It would literally take days for the bombs to meet with the hull of any ship through the power of said ship's gravity alone.
Hey Ben, just so you know, there is gravity in space. Gravity is everywhere. We just can't always notice it cause it's infinitely small
why do al the imperial ship one weakness it has been 30 year guys come on guy at least the rebels have evolved
They're bigger and have better turbo lasers and more of them
The Empire is the best sir
Alas brother... the rebels. They have evolved!
We shall crush them before they build a death star
very well next time ill make sure youre save that one stormtrooper
I would definitely take the Raddus, Ninka, and the Anodyne (after giving it some major upgrades).
It’s nice to see you again Ben and great video
The rebel cruisers crashed into The Star Destroyer while trying to hyperspace away in Rogue One. Guess Vader has plot armor against hyper space ramming.
Your lightsaber is up BEN!!!! hehehe
Generation Tech your light speed ramming question is answered. just look at EC Henry or the Nerdist , they answer that question pretty well.

I actually prefer the Rebels being outside the Galactic Plane of the Galaxy looking at there home galaxy or one of the 2 orbiting galaxies witch this seen was originally supposed to be. It shows how prescient and strong the Empire is, driving the Rebels outside of the Galaxy in order to hide from the might of the imperial navy.
True, but the object spun too fast to be a galaxy.
Suhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....
I live in the north east (Boston) And I look out my window to see a blizzard and just shrug, smiling.
And Rest in Peace Admiral Ackbar 1982 or something to 2017
why didn't they destroy the deathstar with a big ship in hyper space? well... those ships cost.
¿sᴉɥʇ pɐǝɹ noʎ uɐƆ ? Death Star 2?
Shielded from Endor.
4:34 Those things are sick. I wish we saw more of them.
Putting a few gun turrets and heavy armour on the Titanic
That's what the Titanic's sister ships, Olympic and Britannic, did during ww1, while the Olympic survived the war and returned to civilian services until 1929, the Britannic struck a mine in Greece and sunk faster than the Titanic did but with a lot less casualties
The problem with the bomber, even if they explained the bombs dropping, is it just doesn't make sense for a ship. It moves slow, has no protection, you have to "line it up" manually. Seems like a ship that took 100 steps back technology wise.
"...The bridge was destroyed by tie fighters after kylo ren pussied out..."
i laughed very loudly at this
Did you know that the Nicada only needs a crew of 23 humanoids (not including skeleton crew)
Love the Mary Poppins fill in!
.....dont know who weote this episode, but the funniest nar none. Great job
The Ninka's design is giving some Ebon Hawk vibes
while i think the idea of the bombers were cool in the last jedi, they a lot less practical than than the y-wings the republic and rebellion had.
More like it didn't have dedicated turret shields and the X-Wing was inside the ships shield.
He is right! The cross section is a really good book! Loads of cool images and facts! I do recommend it! I'm guessing that you will do it anyway but could you do real size of star wars ships for the first order?
Yay bens back
Hoth is actually warmer than New Hampshire right now. Wampa warnings throughout the state.
Holdo: *Omeawa mou shindeiru*
Supremacy's crew: NANI?!?!!
Because the mc 85 was destroyed smashing through similar sized ships. The excutor crashed into the second death star and it did pretty much nothing, so I doubt the rebels had a large enough ship to even make a decent dent in the death star.
SATmaster728 Scholly
*You*
*Fucking*
*Idiot*
SATmaster728 Scholly it wasn't in hyper space it just crashed
I love the New Squadron the last Jedi!
Does no one realize the bombers would still work at dropping bombs without the magnet thing? They had artificial gravity inside as Paige Tico fell down that ladder as well as the control that dropped the bombs! So there was gravity inside the ships which means once released the bombs would fall anyway!
Well done
I was waiting to see Alan's glorious face, then I saw the inner world man named Ben.
Hi. I live in the UK. Glad you like it.
Bad writing is the reason no one has done it before because when ships enter sub-space they can phase through matter in normal space.
He asks why didn't they use a ramming attack against the Death Star? Probably because, although it probably would've caused heavy damage, the Death Star is so massive it wouldn't have been destroyed.
It's certainly not like Alderaan. It's bloody freezin here!
Welcome back.Funny stuff😂
Actually there IS kind of such a thing as "slapping some guns and armor onto the Titanic" They're called "armed merchant cruisers. The Titanic's sister ship, the Olympic, was also armed during the First World War!
The Cargo Frigate Vigil looks more like an MC30 Frigate than a GR75 Transport, which is a Mon Cal ship instead of one from KDY.
Love that London be new York thing because here in new York it an frozen infernal that fell like hell
3 things i have problems with in this video, apart from them it's really good.
1) For fucks sake, Leia didn't fly, she used the force to pull herself back to the ship. You can't fly
2)They didn't do a Hyperspace Kamikaze at the Death Star because the fleet was still recovering from Scarif and a Hyperspace attack might have not even gotten far enough through the armor of the Death Star to destroy it.
3) The Resistance didn't use a Hyperspace attack at Starkiller base because all they had to work with at the time was X-wings. Do you really think an X-wing could get all the way through to the core of the planet? And even if it could it would be nothing but some fragments of metal that would be incinerated before they made contact.
Now I know why the green party loves the empire and the first order... ;)
Well it's a costly sacrifice (in terms of money) to ram multiple big ships into something
