How many of you keep having issue with the XRT shredding gears?

On my 3rd set. Don't land under power. Get after market remote to adjust brake settings also

It was by chance that I noticed Traxxas changed the motor pin location in their manual. In my case for 46/23T speed it was C,G pin position on the motor. It is a tighter mesh but Traxxas says after a few runs, the mesh will be perfect. I then ran the car not too hard but nice and easy for a good 15 minutes before I pushed it's limits. I've had no issues since making that change, upgrading to steel pinion/spur gears and installing motor washers to prevent the motor from shifting. My car has done some serious tumbles and jumps and the gears are still perfect.

Interesting 🤔 Where did you put the motor washers?

This is a common problem with X-MAXX as well. You have to upgrade the gears. M2C RACING makes upgrades for the steering to solve the breakage.

That screw comes out with a long shafted tool with no problem at all. Buy some longer Allen drivers.

Usually it's from landing while under throttle.. even blowing through a field that makes the wheels slightly come off the ground will do it.. butbespecially jumps.. the wheels will speed up when in the air and then instant resistance will hit everything at once and something in the drive train will give.. usually the gears.. its highly recommended to at least do hardened steel gears.. or if you wanna go big mod 1.5 gears .. best of luck

Exact same thing happened to mine, and I was literally driving it up and down my road not a single jump a couple wheelies no power, takeoffs or anything like that, so far, I’m not impressed with Traxxas XRT at all

Yeah this seems to be a common issue and I’m still working through it to find the best solution.

Turn break settings down with the Bluetooth settings and use Hardened gears now sold as a set from Traxxas. good Luck.. Peace! 80% break setting or lower.

Monkey metal* is not good enough for the big jumps ur prob make. It breaks easily then

You landed with too much wheel speed. Happens all the time.
