7:35 Not exactly. Her wording is vague but what she really meant is that coral is an organic and a sapient species in its own right. They are the native species of Rubicon and thus the true Rubiconians. I also don't agree that you are still 'just a dog' by the end of the game. Walter, even if an asshole was acting distant for the first half of the game as a result of the deaths of his previous pilots. He treats you with respect (as shown with his dialogue between Snail) but doesn't like to show it directly because it'll leave attachment. When he finally realizes the mistake he made he tells you to find your freedom, and he does so knowing you won't have to die fighting as his dog, since you have the choice between him or Ayre. He already had hints towards the existence of Ayre since you were going on 'solo' missions with no real incentive and getting help during missions from something that seemingly wasn't there. This is why i think the Liberator of Rubicon route is probably the best route because of the characterization it gives to Walter. Not saying your interpretation is wrong either but I believe it's more along the lines of "What happens when freedom is given to a person, and how they learn to use it" rather than "What happens when a person who has no free will is used by others". I think the second part is true but only up until the middle of ch4, where Rusty finally forces you to question that idea. To top all it off, at the end of the LOR route, Ayre knows how much you sacrificed to give her that ending, and offers to do the same thing you did for her. These armored core games must be fun. I grew up with only MechWarrior, so whenever I see these games, all I notice is the giant legs which have zero purpose. Some even have 4 legs or tank tracks? So much extra weight to fly around with. This game would make more sense with decked out hovercrafts than mechs. The gameplay may be fun af tho. The customization looks really cool.
Well different legs serve different purposes like quad legs being better for longer air time and hovering and tank legs being so you can have a more beefy build overall and while it may not look like it depending on what you have equipped you WILL feel how heavy you are when traversing each level or fighting against anyone
Every leg type has a unique purpose and completely changes the gameplay, and every individual set of legs has its own unique jumping & dashing attributes.
Raven 621 woukd have free will if he spent thise credits on that surgery Walter talks about whike he tries to convince himself that he doesn't need to kill you, which he certainly does have to as a fellow lobotomite
It wasn’t nearly popular enough to win GOTY anywhere, and shit, I probably played games with objective higher quality in 2023, but Armored Core 6 is definitely my favorite game of the year. Cheers.
With objective higher quality in 2023? Which one besides BG3? Maybe the fact I'm a mech simp clouds my vision but, there were better games than AC6 last year?
I get why people are saying that BG3 is the GOTY, but AC6 was really the highlight for me last year. When I got an S on all missions, I slapped the decal I got for that on my AC’s forehead and just sat for a while, thinking about how no game will ever come close to being this entertaining for me. Really hope I was wrong, and I really wish AC6 got the GOTY award
Even though I agree that AC6 was really good, saying it should have won GOTY when it was running against Baldur's Gate 3 is borderline asinine. It'd be like saying Shaq is better than Jordon.
This video was so good that I watched it offline on a flight and wrote a todo item to comment on it later and share it with my brother. Fantastic work 👏🏻
Excellent video, sir. I think no matter what lens you view this game through, the bottom line is that it's great. The combat, the mission structure, the customization, the story... all great.
When I found dark souls 3 I couldn’t stop thinking of the game. It consumed me. It’s been so long but armored core 6 makes me the same way love this game so much.
Very well thought out analysis. On little critique, though: Andrew Ryan wasn't the one controlling you in Bioshock. Atlas/Frank Fontaine was. You were Fontaine's secret weapon against Ryan.
armor core 6 would hvae been game of the year of we dint get the absolute beast that is baldurs gate 3, hands down baldurs deserved it has more content, more gameplay hours and so many different ways to do things that really cemented its place again dont get me wrong armored core is a Really good game and if baldurs dint come out when it did i have 0 doubt that either AC6 would have won that or TOTK
I know people who Armored Core 6 was there personal GOTY (me included) and it is a shame it wasn't even nominated for it. The game had everything I wanted to be in an Armored Core game like hidden parts, the karasawa & moonlight, fun gameplay etc. and it checked all of the boxes and that is why it is my personal favorite Armored Core game though I still love the early gen games too.
I loved this game. It seems to me that people that played it to completion understand why it is the GOTY. Most of the rest did not get past either the first boss or baltheus.
Baltheus was fun because he really made me rethink my build, which is the point. Fir I tried non-pulse weapons and failed, then I tried equipping either a pulse blade or pulse gun to get through, and then finally realized the only way to get through his shields without running out of ammo was to fully commit and use a pulse blade and a pulse gun as a combo.
You get it guy. This game just came out and I KNEW I had to get it just from a gameplay video I saw this game is game of the year 2023 and is worth multiple play throughs on my 3rd now
100% facts. Baldur's Gate 3 was insane to see how well that was done, and deserved all it's awards. But AC6 is very much my 2023 GOTY as well, and the best game I played last year ❤️❤️
other million dollar AAA studios struggle to put out a functioning let alone actually engaging and fun game...and then Fromsoft came out with the proverbial folding chair to show them all how its fucking done.
I got the LoR ending first, and then got tipped off to the third ending by a friend who was also playing the game, and so I found a sense of Autonomy by carrying on. Ayre is basically asking "Why?" when you choose the FoR path, and my answer was basically "If I get through this, there will be something better." Spoilers below. Then, of course, there's the fact that you beat Allmind at the end, but carry out her will afterwards. That was my choice. She just decided to heel turn and stand in my way.
Allmind wanted to download your brain to add to her combat system like she did to Iguazu and is implied to have done this with most of the other pilots you killed. Iguazu kinda says as much during the final fight but it's clear that there's some cut voice lines from THAT specific exchange.
Ac6 made me feel a way i’ve never felt playing a game, the butter smooth combat was so refreshing compared to many other games. The story was so underrated, and i loved the bosses. The game was just fantastic imo and was a 10/10 from me.
Loved the video 👍. I kinda understood that AC6 made me feel somehow my decisions as the player where just as uninformed as 621 was in the game. Following orders of masters and somehow focused only on my own survival. Fromsoft is masterful in this gameplay narrative marriage
The third ending has introduced the concept of waifus to the world, essentially repeating the ending of the classic Evangelion. This, along with everything else the game has to offer, has made it an easy personal GOTY. Subscribed.
Never played an AC game before but love the Souls/Sekiro/Elden blah blah. Thought "why not get AC6, it looks dope." Beat it in like 5 days, played every night for 4-5 hours. Loved it and it was weird how quickly it came and went for me but not long ago I saw that new guns were added and so I downloaded it again. Once again beat new game + and ++, every night for a week straight. AC6 is fricking sweet.
So I'm curious how many people thought the coral was souls of dead people, because I thought it was an alien organism that gain human like consciousness.
I binged ac6 3 playthroughs all endings 76.9 hours on steam in 8 days it was and is fantastic, I learned a bit more about the older AC games and I can get why some vets might not like the "dumbing down" of it, but god damn was it a ride and a half. Also if you are struggling just learn to pre-time the pile bunker, seriously... it is so satisfying to launch a spear into enemies, do it, do it, do it. Edit: oh, I remember seeing the gunships fly in, and be like "OH FUCK LETS GO" and try to fly on top of it, for the game to go "yeah smart move pal" and I wanted so badly to fly against a fleet of them, going from one ship to the other. The second ending I did had that mission, I was so fkn hype
To me, Armored Core 6 was the ultimate gaming example of the new type of hero we've microscoped on (Ex: Chainsaw Man, Goblin Slayer): The Working Hero. There's no good or evil, or greater aspiration to be the "White Knight who saves the princess": it's just the job and doing the best you can at it. You're a little insane and mindless, but if you save people along the way? Great, I guess...
how anyone can not see the significance of AC6FoR's story in the context of the development of AGI in our world is beyond me ; absolutely the most important discussion , and ofc its an amazing game as well =] ; cannot sing AC6 enough praise imho
I tried to play Baldur’s Gate 3. I saw why people consider it the best game of 2023, but it’s just not for me. Recently, I came back to AC6 and I found myself with a newfound obsession with it. S-ranked all missions last weekend and I’m itching for more. Best game of 2023 for me.
YOU MISSED THE POINT. Read below. (I mean I wrote an entire thing) There is only one good ending: The fires of Raven. The endings? Liberator of Rubicon: You got manipulated like a moron by the rubicon liberation front and Ayre. Allmind shows it to you, thumb dolmayan does not give a fuck about living in harmony. He wants to exploit coral like the corporations. And Ayre? Ayre keeps licking your earlobes in hopes that you're not her to burn down the whole planet again. Because she knows! She gets worried when you betray V.VII Swinburne after accepting to spare him. "Did Walter teach you that?" or has some satisfied voice tone if you actually spare him. She also tries to be your little waifu in the fog level "hmm youuuu knoowwww, it's been a while since we haven't been in a mission without Walter...". Like what the fuck? Alea jacta est: You got played by allmind which is most probably influenced by some other coral thingy like Ayre since they can control mechs. And after that, what is there that is an aberration to the plan? You and that other clown Iguazu! Ayre and Allmind are just playing pokemon watching you and Iguazu try to tickle each other prostate. It's by far not the only moment in the game during which you get thrown against that poor fucker. He gets lured by Allmind who wants to get rid of everybody at once in the alternative Mission 48: Reach the Coral Convergence. Iguazu says something like "They are all here, just like they said." "They" being Allmind, as it is proven in the final fight that Iguazu is indeed played by Allmind too. That's why Allmind tries to kill you. That's why Ayre is so sweet. They're just playing you. You mean nothing and coral is a parasite. The fires of Raven: YOU DID YOUR JOB 621. Nobody manipulated you. You got surgery because you wanted it. You wanted to be a fried-brain maniac commanding a billion-sun powered ice-skating killing machine. You wanted to blow as many things as possible while making millions. Walter hired you for that job, the conditions were set from the beginning and with your own consent. You saved mankind from being absorbed by that sparkly thing. You stopped it from being spread in the entire universe. And on top of that you remained a faithful dog. The third ending is not the good one. It's the one giving you the last pieces of the puzzle. It does not build it for you.
Yeah I know I missed the point. I got enough comments to wake me up to that fact. If I could change my final take away, It wouldn’t be that it’s about a man becoming a machine. It would be closer to a machine-like organism becoming human. Or at least what happens when a living thing is given a choice. Still my favourite game of the year though. Not taking away that statement.
It's a solid 7.5/10 game. I didn't feel like I progressed as a pilot at all throughout the game and the missions were mostly incredibly easy and uninteresting. Some of the boss fights were challenging and pretty good. The only above average aspect of the game.
Trust me, my channel does not deserve that much attention. There’s far better/funny channels on this website to check out. But thanks for the kind words.
AC6 made me think more then any other game last year. It´s theme was weird or atleast until i got it on the 3rd cycle. When i saw all the endings. This is the stuff i like! Philosophy for gamers. This game is like playing dune before the machine wars.
Lies of pie was mine. Playing armored core now, but so far feels like mobile game with all briefings and load screens. Game play is good though and really addictive i must say.
Ok, take my statement back, its actually really good after chapter one. Just slow start, but now im hooked in to story and builds as well as game play it self. Awesome game.
Damn, wow. Yep, the elders need as always to shut the hell up; the kids alright. Hella good analysis there. Zoomer or whatever ya did a fine and grand job of breaking that shit down and hard. Bravo! Impressive wingspan. ❤
Now for me, I’m all about my STARFIELD because I am old grew up on the Apollo Program and have a thing for cassette futurism. And shooting endless space pirates in their space faces with my space guns. But I did my time in the H+ program back in the day, so I got love for the ARMORED CORE series but alas not the youthful vigor to endless beat myself up. And I do hope they kept that mission set up that once in a while makes you build and fight in a mech design you normally don’t. I dig that it made me go outside my comfort zone occasionally. For me it was always having to build and fight the light, fast, chicken legged mech up a silo, hated that mission. :)
AC6 is the best accion-game in 2023. Best Combat mech all time. All title FromSoftware is Gold. But too dificult to standard player this is why is underrated.

“Complete the task.
Adjust.”
Great, now I’ll never get that out of my head while playing 😂
It wasn’t nearly popular enough to win GOTY anywhere, and shit, I probably played games with objective higher quality in 2023, but Armored Core 6 is definitely my favorite game of the year. Cheers.
With objective higher quality in 2023? Which one besides BG3? Maybe the fact I'm a mech simp clouds my vision but, there were better games than AC6 last year?
This dude is way too underrated ..this is my first video I have seen from him and it’s epic it’s kinda sad he only has 460 subs he deserves more
That’s too nice man. Honestly I like having a smaller audience. Feels more like a fun hobby than a job
The only words I could say during the game awards was “armored core six”
GOTY for sure, only game I unlocked a 100% and still play. 300 hours in and still making new builds
Armored core six change my life. It is my game of the year.
tell me you didn't understand the story without telling me you didn't understand the story(level: impossible)
AC6 is probably the best mech game you can get your hands on right now, one of the best action games as well
Even though I agree that AC6 was really good, saying it should have won GOTY when it was running against Baldur's Gate 3 is borderline asinine.
The combat, the mission structure, the customization, the story... all great.
The editing in this video is top notch man. Bravo.
Thanks man
When I found dark souls 3 I couldn’t stop thinking of the game.
It's now a tie for me, AC6 and Lies of P. Dead locked for best games of 2023
Solid video man. Well edited with a solid script plus personality = 👑
armor core 6 would hvae been game of the year of we dint get the absolute beast that is baldurs gate 3, hands down baldurs deserved it has more content, more gameplay hours and so many different ways to do things that really cemented its place again dont get me wrong armored core is a Really good game and if baldurs dint come out when it did i have 0 doubt that either AC6 would have won that or TOTK
I’m not mad BG3 won GOTY, I would’ve been kinda annoyed if TotK had taken best action game over AC6 though.
In the third ending when 621 beats the one sided rival, it's his choice to let the coral spread
Haven't gotten to play it yet but if it's even a quarter as good as ACFA it will be my game of the year for sure
Well said and put together buddy👏 . Like so many others have stated GOTY 2023 👍
Just bought it. Physical, as it should be😁 It is coming. Can't wait for the postman😊
You get it guy. This game just came out and I KNEW I had to get it just from a gameplay video I saw this game is game of the year 2023 and is worth multiple play throughs on my 3rd now
No more words need to be said
Subbed.
We are absolutely blessed to have fromsoftware in our lives
I really liked the call sign Gun 13 Raven.
100% facts. Baldur's Gate 3 was insane to see how well that was done, and deserved all it's awards. But AC6 is very much my 2023 GOTY as well, and the best game I played last year ❤️❤️
Or, “center target, pull the switch. Center target, pull the switch. Center target, pull the…”
other million dollar AAA studios struggle to put out a functioning let alone actually engaging and fun game...and then Fromsoft came out with the proverbial folding chair to show them all how its fucking done.
I got the LoR ending first, and then got tipped off to the third ending by a friend who was also playing the game, and so I found a sense of Autonomy by carrying on. Ayre is basically asking "Why?" when you choose the FoR path, and my answer was basically "If I get through this, there will be something better."
Spoilers below.
AC6 was my personal GOTY, but I also understood why BG3 won overall
Ac6 gonna open up a whole new era of "souls born" shit and I can't wait
Ac6 blew me away
Loved the video 👍. I kinda understood that AC6 made me feel somehow my decisions as the player where just as uninformed as 621 was in the game. Following orders of masters and somehow focused only on my own survival. Fromsoft is masterful in this gameplay narrative marriage
I also chose to honor Walter's request.
The game was just beautiful loved every second almost got every trophy but like 2
The third ending has introduced the concept of waifus to the world, essentially repeating the ending of the classic Evangelion.
For me it was a tie between AC6 and Lies of P
GREAT video, sir. Great script, perfect visuals, powerful intro with perfect selection of music and clips. Good job!
So I'm curious how many people thought the coral was souls of dead people, because I thought it was an alien organism that gain human like consciousness.
I binged ac6 3 playthroughs all endings 76.9 hours on steam in 8 days
it was and is fantastic, I learned a bit more about the older AC games and I can get why some vets might not like the "dumbing down" of it, but god damn was it a ride and a half.
There were a lot of Borderlands story in here as well. You also get shot from a container launcher too
how anyone can not see the significance of AC6FoR's story in the context of the development of AGI in our world is beyond me ; absolutely the most important discussion , and ofc its an amazing game as well =] ; cannot sing AC6 enough praise imho
Solid video, man. Earned a sub, I think.
Been keeping my eye out for a price reduction. This solidified my feelings in purchasing.
AC6 is my game of the last 3 years
YOU MISSED THE POINT. Read below. (I mean I wrote an entire thing)
There is only one good ending: The fires of Raven.
Playing Armored Core 6 was like meeting a long lost friend after years apart.
It's a solid 7.5/10 game. I didn't feel like I progressed as a pilot at all throughout the game and the missions were mostly incredibly easy and uninteresting. Some of the boss fights were challenging and pretty good. The only above average aspect of the game.
You guys really thought this game was going to beat Baldur's Gate 3 LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣
While BG3 is and remains my game of 2023, I'll say AC6 was easily in the top 3.
i was never interested in mech games, i gave this a try and man i loved this game
Still disappointed this didnt get GOTY, its only game in recent years to have me keep coming back to it for another playthrough.
AC6 was my GOTY. Stellar gameplay and voice acting
You sir have earned a sub thank you was on the fence about buying this one. Easy choice now 👏
This game made me cry and i can’t stop thinking about it
A masterpiece within the genre that deserves expansions!
The best game of the year is clearly Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Now that Dj Peach Cobbler is gone, I will accept this
You need more subs. Less than 1k and already making such high quality videos.
Trust me, my channel does not deserve that much attention. There’s far better/funny channels on this website to check out. But thanks for the kind words.
i love this game soooooooooo much. praying that the rumors of dlc are true 🙌
I fucking kneel, let's wait for AC6 DLC!
Armored Core VI was absolutely my Game of the Year.
I loved Zelda and BG3, but AC6 had something else. It still haunts me..
AC6 is awesome, but I did enjoy BG3 more tbh. That said, AC6 deserved to be at least nominated.
An Armored Core is the ultimate evolution of the PC Gamer: They build and pilot their own gaming PC equipped with the entire arsenal of the 2nd Amendment, a hot redhead vtuber ai implanted in his brain, and all running on Mountain Dew©️ Code Red (or Voltage) for coolant
Just awesome
AC6 is the best accion-game in 2023. Best Combat mech all time.
All title FromSoftware is Gold. But too dificult to standard player this is why is underrated.
Hate how people think a story needs some dumb overarching meta narrative to be a good story. Maybe big robots are cool and smashing them together is rad.
