Middle Flatwell's emblem being a bird could also be a reference to his position as the 'middle finger', which, when extended, is called giving some one 'the bird'.
It's a nod to my old clan Fierce Uprising, I left AC at the 4th, turned my back to make FU in MGO2... That's why Uncle Flatwell exists with the backwards vesperas. I have vids on these, will be making them all better.
And the gesture came from British Longbowmen, these long bows practically required the user to have their middle finger to draw. They were so deadly that the French would cut off their middle finger, and the ones who got away, or were threatened with said finger severance, would hold up their middle finger and say "We can still pluck yew!"(as the bows were made of yew wood), which is probably where the famous phrase came from. (No, I won't say it, I have a disposition against swearing, not gonna stop anyone else from doing, though)
Iguazu's emblem is also very symbolic of his insecurities and his relationship with volta. first, its a bunch of ants carrying a stag beetle head but their silhoute is like a stag beetle. iguazu tries to look bad ass by being the ants that took the head but in the end he ends up looking like a poser. also rhino beetles (Volta) are known to have a rivalry with stag beetles (Iguazu) in beetle fighting
The ants are very symbolic of his of his insecurity for another reason. The one on the right, not carrying the beetle's head and outside the Red Guns symbol. The guy who feels inadequate, left out and eventually leaves the Red Guns
In the final fight Iguazu has basically become an amalgamation with allminds simulations of other pilots who fought you, so he is like an ant hill, multiple units fighting together for the same purpose, and the beetle head is their AC.
In regards to Sulla's emblem: a snake eating its own tail is a common symbol used in the ancient art/philosophy/science of Alchemy, symbolizing a constant cycle of death and rebirth, or breaking things down to their base elements and then recombining them. The three colours of the snakes, black, white and red correspond with Nigredo, Albedo and Rubedo, which are the three stages to creating the Philisopher's Stone and with it the Elixir of Life. As Sulla is a first-gen augmented pilot his emblem can be interpreted as relating to one of alchemy's goals, the creation of artificial humans also known as Humunculi.
It's also worth mentioning that Sulla's emblem bears a certain resemblance to the Elden Ring logo, and a very distinct resemblance to the Golden Order Fundamentalist seal. Naturally, the observations you made about alchemical symbols play into Elden Ring as well.
Sulla's emblem represents Freud, Sulla, and NosAAc so you can use the "other" keys for me and vAAti to know this is no mere coincidence. Not to detract to the simple meanings, this guy is good, but the secret meanings? vAAti snubbed me and walked backwards in the final mission of AC1 in that one video. I'm the guide writer from 20years ago. I'm plastered all over this game to mock him. They give him the backwards V-42"S" legs, and even put floating mines in the Breach Carla mission where NosAAc was in grid 086.
One of the crazier theories i've heard that seems to have a lot of evidence to support it is that Branch are actually the underlings of Overseer. Basically, as the story goes, Carla and Walter discovered that not all the coral was destroyed in the Fires of Ibis, so in order to find the rest of it, the "Convergence" that Walter keeps talking about during the first few acts, Carla enlists the help of a group of mercenaries breach PCA defenses and leak the presence of coral so that overseer may exploit the corporations' resources to find and destroy it. This is also hinted at in the emblems as Branch can be seen as one literal branch of the tree that is Overseer. Something even crazier if true is that Nightfall Raven is actually 617 from the trailers, we saw his battle and grave damage in the story trailer, scavenging parts to rebuild in the reveal trailer, but was still missing a head which just so happened to be a unique experimental part designed by RAD, a gift from Carla to get 617 operational in branch. The rest of his AC is literally just Walters frames in the same color scheme.
Unfortunately the biggest problem with this theory is timing. Carla only showed up in any meaningful way on Rubicon 3 years prior to the game where she took over RaD. Branch has been around long enough that the group is known by Allmind to have a 'rotating membership'. So, much like the Raven callsign having history even before Nightfall, the current members of Branch are not the first incarnation of the group and Branch's existence likely predates Carla's return to Rubicon. 617 being Nightfall Raven also has this problem, with the time between 617's team of hounds being wiped out and Walter going get 621 was likely rather small. We don't know how space travel works in this universe, so getting to and from wherever Walter picked up 621 could give time for some events to happen, but remember that Raven and Branch were the ones to attack LOC station 31 and leak the reemergence of Coral on Rubicon to the wider galaxy and lure corporations to Rubicon and the Corps are already on Rubicon when 621 arrives. Admittedly they don't seem to have been on Rubicon for too long. Both corporations are conducting coral surveys, which is more or less step one in the corporate plan to exploit the coral. In the Assault the Dam complex Michigan makes it sound like G4 and G5 have just arrived on Rubicon (though Iguazu's preceding comment "Doesn't this guy [Michigan] ever shut up?" doesn't gell with G4 and G5's arena bios that suggest they've been part of the Red Guns and on Michigan's shit duty list for a while now).
You know what's even crazier? SHADE EYE (Nightfall's head piece) is just a modified FINDER EYE (LOADER 4 head piece), so it could literally just the damaged head getting fixed in a cooler way, which kinda is a tradition to mecha anime (for example, look at Gundam Exia Repair)
@@Crash_Legacy_14 theres also many comments that the cataphract pilot makes that basically says “Raven, its all your fault the leak got out and rubicon turned into the corporations’ playground”
@@Crash_Legacy_14 oh yeah, we also know that ALLMIND has knowledge of events prior to arrival on Rubicon, such as Michigan's involvement in the Jupiter wars as part of Furlong
OPEN FAITH is likely meant to be taken ironically as Snail is not someone to be trusted or have faith in. The logo being a many faced person could also be a visual pun of being “two-faced”
What I find ironic is that, while Snail is definitely unworthy of trust and a back-stabbing a**hole, during the game he is nothing but open in his disdain of everything and everyone. I mean, has anyone exchanged a single word with this guy and thought "yep, that's a man I will entrust my life to"?
I always saw Freud's emblem as a human hand emerging out of wires and cables; kinda to symbolize how despite having no enhancements, he still surpasses the rest of the Vespers who all have the latest Augmentations.
It's actually about "me" "passing" the "keys". Very difficult, how many people like the fact FreUd isn't augmented, yet rage at me for dissing Auto Aim lol
Mad Stomp: notice the skulls in all the wrinkly toes? Just a neat visual detail. Milktooth: it's gentle and unassuming, completely unlike his AC or emblem - a dynamic that matches his personality; warm and welcoming with weapons and scrapper drones at the ready. Handler Walter: someone online pointed this out; that's a mannequin hand, and it's as bound by the leashes as all the implied dogs at the other end - those leashes being the goals of Overseer.
I also think that Milktooth as it relates to children makes Honest Brute sound innocent but when you actually think about it it illustrates his child like cruelty and capriciousness
16:14 The colours of the snakes that make up Sulla's emblem, and the colours of his ac, also match pretty closely with the colours on a specific species of snake. The Coral Snake.
Regarding Snail’s AC and emblem, I figured it was a reference to Tyrian purple being extracted from Murex snails. It was a color associated with royalty and obscene wealth in ancient times.
On 4:47, I'm surprised you also didn't point out the Balam parts on the Ortus, the Huxley and the Abbot. While probably looted by the RLF after the Intercept the Redguns mission, I like to think that Balam chipped in the Ortus' development last minute just to give Arquebus one last middle finger before leaving.
Personally I prefer thinking that Branch is this game's iteration of a Raven's Nest. Branches are where birds perch to rest, this organisation is characterized by having a Raven. King makes reference to "other Ravens" so that could mean that the organisation hinges on the establishment of a pilot holding the Raven title. After the Defend the Dam Complex mission, Ayre tells you that Branch (what's left of them) has left it to you to champion the free will they stood for. 621 becomes the new Raven and to that extent, you have become Branch. The Raven's Nest and representative of Free Will, very fitting if you were to do this mission for the Liberator of Rubicon ending. You become the very symbol of the Rubiconians' desire for freedom, the "Branch" for their ACs to fight and stand together.
Regarding Umber Ox, it’s notable that many real life cultures consider oxen to be a symbol of wealth, so when you combine the glitzy green gold color scheme and the amount of expensive parts you get a mighty and blinged-out AC, fitting of an ox’s strength and the wealth required to have it.
Handler Walter's emblem is a closed mannequin hand facing down, Freud's emblem is an opened human hand facing up. They're opposites but also nothing else connects them
The real life Sigmund Freud had a grandson whose name was... Walter Freud. Yes, spelt exactly the same way. My theory is that at one point in development there might have been a connection between these characters, but it got removed. Their emblems are way too similar to be a coincidence.
Actually, I was 100% correct. My emblem (made for me, I am the real Ves, but I never worked for FROM) has the Key because you can unlocked the mockery of vAAti Using Locksmith to differentiate between Vesperas, Sulla, and NosAAc. Just for FUn, Walter and Sulla are based on the same people.
No, this is actually just great work. Just like Arquebus is a dyslexic version of Vesperas, and a non to my sniping skills as a "long gun" @@saraczwei6850
Now looking back, Walter’s really do have a “you are not tied with me, I am tied with you” theme there too. Like, the way the puppet strings ties to the hand. It goes all the way up the wrist. This means if you grab the puppet and pull away violently, the whole hand can just get pulled off. The symbol only looks sinister at first glance. The more you look the more you realize how much have Walter tied himself to 621, going all in, and completely without any backup plans to cut ties. Edit: And to add, looking closely, you can see that the hand itself is also a puppet. The ankles shows it clearly. Probably means how Walter is also just a “puppet”, a machine of a greater duty, only built to do what must be done.
G2 Niles emblem of the 2 whales may have 2 meanings. Whales have the most enormous brain out of all mammals meaning it could be a big brain and a small brain situation representing him and michigan as well as the fact those 2 go deep down Edit: also snails picture looks almost like a cursed front facing yoshimitzu maybe signfying all of the faces snail puts on during his life from a corporate dog to a leader to a sneaky rat and then the face of arquebus itself as said during his balteus fight, with a black hole signifying his lack of anything on inside. His name of open faith could describe his views on coral augmentation viewing it as the best things he could do to himself but shoving a couple hundred to thousands before him to get it right before partaking in himself
Personal favorite theory: V.III O'Keeffe is impotent, which explains partially further why he is morbidly depressed. (not just the ALLMIND/Coral Release thing) Barren Flower in Japanese is a label for a flower that does not produce seeds and his Coral brain-burn in that is explained in his Arena biography isn't mentioned in the Japanese text, only the effects of Coral on his "body" only. (also he adores Fika, a Swedish past time of Coffee breaks during work, for some reason, which is why he offers the interviewer coffee when he tries chatting to the Vesper pilots)
O'keeffe was named after the tall tattoo'd ex girl friend of the original Vesperas (Me). A girl named Rose, who had her tubes tied (Barren Flower). Let's not forget the AC is green 4-legged (clover), she's Irish, and her daughter's name is Raven. This is all explained in the Lore guide in my youtube's profile.
I can see how Snail's AC name could be a mistranslation but I always thought of it as an ironic metaphor for the fact that he's been augmented multiple times. He's got his faith in his upgrades but changes to whatever new thing comes along.
One thing i didnt notice about Igauzu's emblem is that its not actually a beatle, but a bunch of ANTS holding up a beetles head. I think it symbolizes his end as a mighty creature made up of many smaller ones. As Iguazu says in the Allmind fight, he's one of many rejects who couldnt hack it. Ants compared to everyone else on Rubucon. All of them have merged to combine strength and defeat you. Allmind is the beetle in the emblem in that she has the power, but needs others to wield it for her, the various lowl level pilots who all come together to puppet her strength.
Walter’s emblem goes so deep. At first glance, it looks like a hand holding a bunch of leashes, which fits in with the his “hounds.” However, when you look closer, you realize it’s actually a puppet hand, which is bound in those leashes. This is an excellent representation of how he feels obligated to fulfill his dead friends’ mission, and his dedication to Overseer. He is bound by a promise.
I think you're 100% correct. It looks like they definitely switched around the icons for Nosaac and Hawkins. The names of their ACs also make much more sense switched around as well. When Hawkins dies he bitterly asks you if you'd like to join the Vespers. Essentially saying this will ultimately be your reward.
I think Deadsled's emblem is a combination of both of the things you said, and it's just a straightforward mashup. The "Front" of the beast is a fire-breathing, mighty beast capable of killing. The back is that of a wagon or cart, for carrying away the bodies. The red line breaking up the sea of white implies either that he would not accept surrender (white flag representing surrender/mercy, red line implying he will murder anyways) or that he is not above killing "innocents" - people who aren't directly involved in a conflict. Like ,it's one thing to say you only murder other AC pilots, and only do it when they're in their AC - they know what they're in for and are armed accordingly. But if he isn't above killing people outside of an AC, then that red band in the white background shows he will get the kill by any means necessary. Such actions would be seen as particularly monstrous and/or evil if he takes out non-combatants like say a weapons engineer, or would shoot down an aircraft carrying hundreds of people if it meant taking out a general or an AC pilot in the process.
2:02 The original (Japanese) version has English notations in places, and it says "OPEN FAITH". It's a wordplay on "face" and "faith", like you're pointing out.
I personally like to think iguazu's emblem represents how he cant do anything by himself because the only time I've even had problems in a fight with iguazu is when someone else was there to split my attention like the dam complex, the data breach mission and SPOILER FOR NG+++ the allmind fight.
I think Walter's logo shows his connections to other people. He's pulling all kinds of strings, but the hand and wrist are also totally a part of this tangled mess. He's pulling a certain load, but the load is pulling back, and he can't let go anymore.
i honestly think Brute was an AI similar to chatty. Then the AC name "milk tooth" could be interpreted as Brute being the first AI made by carla and then having a "falling out" with RAD
There's an STV sketch in game that most likely depicts the RaD, with three individuals that are probably Carla, Rummy, and Brute. So I don't think Brute's an AI like chatty
I've noticed that Guidance's emblem depicts the brain as a fetus holding its head, maybe it's because Arquebus and the Vespers go as far as to lab-grow some of their own members?
Sulla's emblem color scheme may also represent the colors of the 3 endings that is based on the alchemy process in creating the Philosopher's stone. blackening(nigredo) whitening(albedo) and reddening(rubedo)
my theory for Snail is how slow and deliberate he is at making the plans for Arquebus' operations. His all-heavy AC weight is probably a more physical representation of such slowness. Not to mention that the Parts themselves are really resistant to energy weaponry. So you have to primarily use a Kinetic Weapon, like (prepare for the pun) the AC equivalent of an Assault Rifle.
In the mission cataphract, the pilot said that we were the ones that leaked info on rubicon to the corporations. And since we weren’t the ones who did it… Raven was definitely the one who did, which his ac name “nightfall” could represent the darkness that has swallowed rubicon
The more I learn about AC6 lore, the more I'm convinced "Carla" was reborn in the fires of Ibis. Like she underwent something like a reverse-contact. Her spirit was consumed by the energy, but instead of being wholly absorbed back into the coral or being vaporized like the others, she was able to "contact" a newborn child and essentially be regenerated. So her memories, her consciousness, and her mission are able to be continued, much like a spider can remake its web by eating it, her spirit got a reboot so she can keep making progress even though by all accounts she should be ~100 years old. Perhaps chatty was already programmed by then and was able to help her out? Or perhaps chatty was an old friend who didn't make it? It is odd that Carla is both the only character to have access to such an advanced AI and is also consistently commented on as seeming to be too old to be the participant in this conflict that she is.
The Fires happened half a century before hand and Carla wasn't present for it. She was tasked by Naigai to get Walter off Rubicon - heading to Jupiter specifically. Carla's age is likely more in the 80s, assuming she was somewhere in the more reasonable 30s. She's mentioned repeatedly to at least appear to be younger than she actually is, but that could be the result of technology she might have had access to back in SOL or even that just having access to 'modern' medicine and proper nutrition of that time might allow for such graceful aging. After all, the dosers and Ayre would be comparing her to the other survivors of the Fires who had to live in truly terrible conditions.
THANK YOU. I've been ranting about Jonathan Livingston Seagull's parallels to AC6 since it dropped lol. Someone on the AC6 team 100% read JLS, and there is no way anyone could convince me otherwise.
You missed that Mad Stomp is a callback to The Mad Stomper from Wizardry: Its why his core is yellow like a rubber duck, why he yells mad stomp, and that's a callback in turn to the fact Wizardry was a huge influence on Kingsfield, FROM's first game to market and second to concept.
Whales, despite being air breathing creatures, can dive deep. These specifically depict the blue whale which can dive over 1000ft. However they are also filter feeders so most of their food is closer to the surface. It could have something to do with the fact that, even though the whales are meant to be nearer to the surface, they are capable of reaching places you wouldn't expect? However if we discard the specific species of whale we can get a different meaning out of it. The sperm whale is one of the deepest diving whales and it goes down like that in order to hunt giant and colossal squid. And those squids are what the kraken is based on. So a whale diving down could represent how Nile is taking care of the big threats behind the scenes where its dark and no one can see. The reference to HAL might also refer to 2001 a space odyssey where a rogue AI prioritizes the mission over everything else. Even the lives of the crew.
Handler Walter's emblem being a hand that holds many leashes and the AC pilots he handles all being called dogs, mutts, or hounds probably holds some sort of deeper meaning as well
Alternatively, it's a symbol of how he's been bound to some sort of duty (won't go further into it for fear of spoilers). Imo, his emblem has a dual meaning to it. The leashes could be interpreted as chains to bind someone else or as chains to bind the hand that is Walter. Also, awful pun but he is your HANDler after all.
I find Cannon Head's emblem to be a callback to Vaoh from Armored Core for Answer and his tank AC with the twin gatlings since his emblem looks like a beetle.
To me as I was finishing up NG++, I noticed a color scheme similarity between Sula's emblem and the 3 endings: Black Snake = Fires of Raven (Dark ending) White Snake = Liberator of Rubicon (Good ending) Red Snake = Alea lacta Est (Coral ending)
Open faith is a great pun i like and it lines up with snail being the "brains" of the operation (much like freud's "snail" brain). I think the emblem suits the pilot, plus he's gone through a lot of augmentation
Not sure if it was already covered in another video but Pater's "dual nature" is also likely a reference to Patches/Pate/Patch from Dark Souls and AC4. Acting like a nice guy and then revealing his true intentions when the facade is no longer necessary
Also why his nickname is "Honest". The RaD bosses' nicknames are all supposed to be ironic; Brute betrayed Carla, Stick was created primarily so Carla could have someone to bounce ideas off of... ...and Carla may or may not actually be a survivor of the Fires of Ibis.
I think I may actually know partial answer for Deadsled emblem. The creature depicted on the emblem reminds me of Yokai Kasha There are elements that don't fit but the element of fire, chariot and lion/cat like tail really reminds me of it. From wikipedia: The kasha (Japanese: 火車, lit. 'burning chariot' or 'burning barouche', or 化車, 'changed wheel') is a Japanese yōkai that steals the corpses of those who have died as a result of accumulating evil deeds. Japanese folklore often describes the kasha as humanoid cat-demons with the head of a cat or tiger and a burning tail. They are similar to other demons such as Nekomata and Bakeneko and get often interchanged with them. Kashas are said to travel the world on burning chariots or barouches, stealing the corpses of recently deceased humans, which were not yet buried and who had been sinful in life. They bring their souls to hell Now obviosly it needs a bit of digging, but the emblem may be inspired by some multple death symbolism in general. The back legs being wheels was especially stricking to me, because Kasha is sometimes depicted with back legs sitting on wheels. I learned about this Yokai because of Nioh 2 that has... very horny.... representation of this yokai lol
I remember someone describing fromsoft’s stories like archeology. We are given so little, yet through collaboration and the discussion of ideas, we can come closer to either the right interpretation or at least as close as we can get. Makes sense too because we see everything as 621, but they don’t get the time to actually get to know most of these people.
Man I love this. There's so much story and character hinted at purely by these tiny little pictures. I'm gonna have to look into this more on my own, but thank you for this beautiful analysis! Excellent video!
11:05 Iguazu also begins using Allmind parts by the time you encounter Snail in the sewers. Specifically - arms, together with the three you mention making a full Allmind frame.
this video was supewr fun. i just recently really got into AC6, playing it 3 times is so fun for all the endings, the true ending was truly worth it. this game was such a special and unique experince and i seriously look forward to fromsoftwares future games
9:30 I think Nile emblem being “whales” is showing his intelligence since whales are the smartest animal on earth because of their big size, they contain a lot of neurons for the brain which give them the nickname “deep thinker” and remember that Nile is brain to Michigan muscle.
Phenomenal video. I suppose you didn-t bring up Rusty's two emblems because the symbolism is pretty obvious; muzzled wolf under Arquebus, unleashed wolf after revealing himself. You missed a few other details, but as I said, excellent video.
RaDs naming conventions are lies. 1. “Invincible” Rummy is the dead-last of the Arena, warped by the voices of coral to believe he’s a demigod. He could be a reference to self-deceit or delusions of grandeur. 2. “Chatty” Stick is an AI who’s a minimalist when it comes to conversation. He could also reference a lie of omission. 3. “Honest” Brute is a turn-coat, a sociopath, and pathological liar. He’s a textbook serial killer in a mech. 4. “Cinder” Carla is an Overseer member disguised as a black market dealer. She’s a spring chicken in terms of looks, but is she truly what she looks like. She a textbook chameleon, someone who blends into their role.
this is a fascinating and really well researched video!! the noahs ark + branch part is especially compelling to me, i think its a SUPER solid concept... i wanted to point out too, umber sounds like umbra which means shadow in latin, aster like astra meaning stars... and then theres nightfall in the same group!
Rokumonsen referencing heraldry that isn't afraid to die and him having Allmind parts points towards him being aware of the Allmind plan of taking the conciousness of AC pilots and keeping them alive inside itself.
notable with the Itano Circus reference: Kawamori Shoji, the creator of Macross, was also the original mecha designer for the Armored Core series and did designs for AC6
The "brain" in Swinburne's emblem is a baby in the womb. It seems he's a frightened child on the inside, and the invasive augmentation was on a weak pilot. He cracks under pressure easily.
One of the possible interpretations of Snail's icon is that it is stated in the lore that he enjoys going through augmentation surgeries to be a better pilot, and as we saw what those surgeries might involve from AC6 trailer/cinematic (the one that features 621 on the table), he might very well have an open face in real life
this is fantastically put together all the details all the information (shows the effort they put into 6 as well) i cant help but notice you skipped the part for rustys emblem going from a muzzled wolf (since he had to hold back and stay quiet to keep his identity secret) to a wolf bearing its fangs (his new AC to use against organizations) for carlas emblem being the spider either eating or spinning a web i see it that it is part of her machine since it is all about casting a net of missiles to trap opponents into for milk tooth as you pointed out the emblem has double sets of teeth like a kid which is how he acts being desperate for attention no matter what he has to do to get it as for ravens emblem having one raven stealing feathers from another raven is exactly what 621 did by taking the license and doing all the various missions up to that point its like a bird building wings out of the feathers of either birds it has witnessed falling or that it has personally slayed
I think for Rokumonsen having Allmind parts is how she tries to have eyes on all groups. O'keeffe for vespers. Sulla for independent mercs, Iguazu for balam, kate for special situations.
Freud’s symbol is just too similar to an inverted Walter. Walter is pulling the strings together. Freud is being held in place by the strings. His is hand trying to get free. It has the key, but no lock. Maybe in development they were more closed tied together. Both are great pilots. They must have known each other at some time.
I like my emblem the most. Not for any particular reason, I just think it’s neat. The symbolism only makes sense to me and me alone, and that’s fine. It’s a sun wheel, but with an elk skull, an hourglass, and a skull stacked on top of each other. The symbolism is that death is life and life is time. So all is death in the end, shown by the sun because the sun is a perfect representation of the cycle of life each day. It’s cheesy but I enjoy it
Another lovely lore video, very detailed and interesting insights. However, I can't help but notice that you might have accidentally copy-pasted the same line "海阔凭鱼跃" twice at 11:52 hahah. The correct Chinese words in the second line in the proverb is "天高任鸟飞".
Thank you so much for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I feel like an idiot for making such an obvious mistake, I hope all the Chinese speakers watching the video will be able to forgive me 😥
A couple things to Deep Down. Whales dive deeper for better prey. Whales also have very large and specialized brains. To sleep whales can only rest for 30 minutes at a time, monitoring themselves at half their sleeping capacity mentally and switch halfs, preventing lowering their body temperature too much or drowning. Snail's Open Faith might be another kind of play. The emblem depicts two identical openings halfs on side side and the other. Personality wise, Snail doesn't put trust in anything further than someone else before him performing something similar. As his bio and plans in our missions suggest, he often prefers having someone else test the waters until he thinks it's safest. He puts good utility in his AC for handle of things, and he's willing to withdraw when things are going south. He's otherwise in confident spirit in light of most situations with the given resources. An unusually competent individual, his open faith in the situations from the beginning as a strategist.
I like to think that while Walter’s emblem can be interpreted literally, depicting his hand as a handler. It can also in a more speculative way, be seen as Walter’s promises to his deceased allies dragging him to a deadly end. And maybe he designed his emblem such knowing in some capacity that he’s weighted down by the promises he made. That his personal mission only has one end. Dying fulfilling it, or dying trying.
Just because I haven't seen it yet; a "cold call" is a sales tactic where you solicit people unprompted by phone or in person. I imagine related to their penchant for showing up unannounced on business.
Open-face is a term for sandwiches where the top slice of bread is left off. You can see the ingredients of the filling. It's a very strange contrast to his callsign, an animal that hides in a shell.
I like the idea that the emblems for bitter promise and the other one were originally swapped in universe. As in the two pilots decided to swap emblems perhaps for a misson promising to swap back. But never did
I like to think Open-Faith is more like a Pun that doesn't translate rather than a mistranslation. But that is probably just semantics
The emblem does kind of resemble Mike Tyson if you squint.

Ouroborus cycle?
was going to say basically the same thing.
It's definitely my favorite emblem
@@The_Vesperas schizo post?
@@Crash_Legacy_14 oh yeah, we also know that ALLMIND has knowledge of events prior to arrival on Rubicon, such as Michigan's involvement in the Jupiter wars as part of Furlong
aren't all the parts of 617 made from RAD? what makes you think he got walter's parts and colour scheme?
OPEN FAITH is likely meant to be taken ironically as Snail is not someone to be trusted or have faith in. The logo being a many faced person could also be a visual pun of being “two-faced”
Really insane double entendre and pun happening too then. Even the emblem references how layered the meaning is lol

16:14
The colours of the snakes that make up Sulla's emblem, and the colours of his ac, also match pretty closely with the colours on a specific species of snake.
While probably looted by the RLF after the Intercept the Redguns mission, I like to think that Balam chipped in the Ortus' development last minute just to give Arquebus one last middle finger before leaving.
perfectly shows how the guy played both sides for gains
@@todd3143 Does add to Carla saying "Guess he was using the corps too." during your final boss fight with Rusty in the FoR ending

What really happened is probably Rusty and Michigan throwing the fight to piss off Arquebus
The enemy of my enemy
Makes sense when he said 'Thats why its not my duty of which mission to choose" during dialogue with Carla.
G2 Niles emblem of the 2 whales may have 2 meanings. Whales have the most enormous brain out of all mammals meaning it could be a big brain and a small brain situation representing him and michigan as well as the fact those 2 go deep down
Edit: also snails picture looks almost like a cursed front facing yoshimitzu maybe signfying all of the faces snail puts on during his life from a corporate dog to a leader to a sneaky rat and then the face of arquebus itself as said during his balteus fight, with a black hole signifying his lack of anything on inside. His name of open faith could describe his views on coral augmentation viewing it as the best things he could do to himself but shoving a couple hundred to thousands before him to get it right before partaking in himself
Li Long makes sense since Wu is the type to take advantage of any opportunity to get ahead, even leaving the Redguns for dead.
What on earth are you talking about
@@The_Vesperasnobody cares schizo

Essentially saying this will ultimately be your reward.
yeah probably the little room you find nosaac in is just a hindrance in a quad leg ac
You forgot one key detail about Swinburne. He is patches and his logo the brain being lobotomized is in the shape of a baby
2:02 The original (Japanese) version has English notations in places, and it says "OPEN FAITH".
It's a wordplay on "face" and "faith", like you're pointing out.
Could be that Snail used a play on words to make himself feel smart, he's self absorbed enough for something like that
I personally like to think iguazu's emblem represents how he cant do anything by himself because the only time I've even had problems in a fight with iguazu is when someone else was there to split my attention like the dam complex, the data breach mission and SPOILER FOR NG+++ the allmind fight.
7:38 hate when people say this boys got spilt personalities when it's clearly just his autisms survival mode kicking in
I think Walter's logo shows his connections to other people.
I thought he was Carla's toxic ex
There's an STV sketch in game that most likely depicts the RaD, with three individuals that are probably Carla, Rummy, and Brute. So I don't think Brute's an AI like chatty
idk carla wasnt very fond of him so i dont think she wouldnt insult him as a lowly failed ai project when given the chance
@@MatsYoo Also Carla adores the stuff she creates more than people.
I've noticed that Guidance's emblem depicts the brain as a fetus holding its head, maybe it's because Arquebus and the Vespers go as far as to lab-grow some of their own members?
i think its because re education and or augmentation surgery makes most people as impressionable as a newborn
Look at Snail's AC... we re-educate Vermin :D
probably reaching a bit, but Raven's emblem also looks like VERTEX's logo from Last Raven but facing away from the player instead of towards them
Sulla's emblem color scheme may also represent the colors of the 3 endings that is based on the alchemy process in creating the Philosopher's stone. blackening(nigredo) whitening(albedo) and reddening(rubedo)
my theory for Snail is how slow and deliberate he is at making the plans for Arquebus' operations.
Nah its definitely side effects from smoking coral beside getting high
The Fires happened half a century before hand and Carla wasn't present for it. She was tasked by Naigai to get Walter off Rubicon - heading to Jupiter specifically. Carla's age is likely more in the 80s, assuming she was somewhere in the more reasonable 30s. She's mentioned repeatedly to at least appear to be younger than she actually is, but that could be the result of technology she might have had access to back in SOL or even that just having access to 'modern' medicine and proper nutrition of that time might allow for such graceful aging. After all, the dosers and Ayre would be comparing her to the other survivors of the Fires who had to live in truly terrible conditions.
i think dosing makes you live longer not shorter thats why shes still young and able to pilot an ac
@@MatsYooThat wouldn't make any sense since it's the dosers who suspect Carla's origins are false.
THANK YOU.
I've been ranting about Jonathan Livingston Seagull's parallels to AC6 since it dropped lol. Someone on the AC6 team 100% read JLS, and there is no way anyone could convince me otherwise.
Kate Markson is also from Wittgenstein's Mistress
OPEN FAITH emblem is thought to be based on the Buddhist statue called '宝誌和尚'.Of course, Augmented Human surgery is also included as a motif.
Man, I love the deep dives you do into this game. Really interesting interpretations too. Keep it up!
Yeah, I think when rusty fights you in chapter 4 he was just re-educated by snail.
When I first got Mad Stomp's emblem I called it "the Frenzied Foot" having just come off of Elden Ring with all its fingerprint motifs 🤣
I find Cannon Head's emblem to be a callback to Vaoh from Armored Core for Answer and his tank AC with the twin gatlings since his emblem looks like a beetle.
To me as I was finishing up NG++, I noticed a color scheme similarity between Sula's emblem and the 3 endings:
Black Snake = Fires of Raven (Dark ending)
White Snake = Liberator of Rubicon (Good ending)
Red Snake = Alea lacta Est (Coral ending)
Allmind parts are awarded through the loghunt program, so I imagine Rokumonsen got them through hunting like we do.
A great thing with chatty sticks emblem, is that it also looks like circuits!
Circus... Circuits...
Flying Tampons.
Brute is definitely tie to his betrayal against Carla. Reference to the assassination of Caesar.
The creature depicted on the emblem reminds me of Yokai Kasha
There are elements that don't fit but the element of fire, chariot and lion/cat like tail really reminds me of it.
From wikipedia:
The kasha (Japanese: 火車, lit.
They bring their souls to hell
Now obviosly it needs a bit of digging, but the emblem may be inspired by some multple death symbolism in general.
Just noticed the brain in Swinburne's emblem looks like a baby-
11:05 Iguazu also begins using Allmind parts by the time you encounter Snail in the sewers. Specifically - arms, together with the three you mention making a full Allmind frame.
The headbringer emblem is an amazing foreshadow to the plot of AC6, as it takes multiple ants to kill one beetle.
this video was supewr fun. i just recently really got into AC6, playing it 3 times is so fun for all the endings, the true ending was truly worth it. this game was such a special and unique experince and i seriously look forward to fromsoftwares future games
9:30 I think Nile emblem being “whales” is showing his intelligence since whales are the smartest animal on earth because of their big size, they contain a lot of neurons for the brain which give them the nickname “deep thinker” and remember that Nile is brain to Michigan muscle.
The OST of AC6 is one of the best this year. The music just hits.
Phenomenal video. I suppose you didn-t bring up Rusty's two emblems because the symbolism is pretty obvious; muzzled wolf under Arquebus, unleashed wolf after revealing himself. You missed a few other details, but as I said, excellent video.
He made mention of the two emblems of Rusty & Steel Haze in part 1, actually.
I think Milk Tooths second row of teeth symbolizes his speech. If he is always lying or tell the truth because some of his dialog throws me off.
I really really REALLY appreciate your theory about Branch!
this video is insane, the amount of research put into it
RaDs naming conventions are lies.
I love so much this video, it all makes so much sense, i especially loved the part about noah and branch, amazing content!

this is a fascinating and really well researched video!! the noahs ark + branch part is especially compelling to me, i think its a SUPER solid concept... i wanted to point out too, umber sounds like umbra which means shadow in latin, aster like astra meaning stars... and then theres nightfall in the same group!
best chat comments section I've seen in a long time. Love reading everyone's theories about the pilots and their emblems.
Rokumonsen referencing heraldry that isn't afraid to die and him having Allmind parts points towards him being aware of the Allmind plan of taking the conciousness of AC pilots and keeping them alive inside itself.
The final theory about Branch makes total sense. Not far fetched at all. Great job on the video!
AMAZING research on this video my man, great job!
With Swinburne, the brain almost looks like a baby
Wah brother, great video. One of my favorit3 from the AC community
The way the wax drips off the Candle Ring emblem it makes me think its a reference to the Eclipse from DS3 as well.
Awesome video! Thanks for putting in the work. Some of these puzzles eluded me.
notable with the Itano Circus reference: Kawamori Shoji, the creator of Macross, was also the original mecha designer for the Armored Core series and did designs for AC6
The "brain" in Swinburne's emblem is a baby in the womb. It seems he's a frightened child on the inside, and the invasive augmentation was on a weak pilot. He cracks under pressure easily.
One of the possible interpretations of Snail's icon is that it is stated in the lore that he enjoys going through augmentation surgeries to be a better pilot, and as we saw what those surgeries might involve from AC6 trailer/cinematic (the one that features 621 on the table), he might very well have an open face in real life
Great video, awesome lore, beautiful edits! Thank you so much.
Hustler One always scares me to hear...
this is fantastically put together all the details all the information (shows the effort they put into 6 as well)
i cant help but notice you skipped the part for rustys emblem going from a muzzled wolf (since he had to hold back and stay quiet to keep his identity secret) to a wolf bearing its fangs (his new AC to use against organizations)
for carlas emblem being the spider either eating or spinning a web i see it that it is part of her machine since it is all about casting a net of missiles to trap opponents into
for milk tooth as you pointed out the emblem has double sets of teeth like a kid which is how he acts being desperate for attention no matter what he has to do to get it
as for ravens emblem having one raven stealing feathers from another raven is exactly what 621 did by taking the license and doing all the various missions up to that point its like a bird building wings out of the feathers of either birds it has witnessed falling or that it has personally slayed
V.II's made a COMPLETELY different image in my head the first time I saw it XD
This video has a lot of entertaining insights!
Very cool. I think you might have nailed it with reconfig and bitter promise too.
That's my theory too, given that the real life Sigmund Freud had a grandson named Walter Freud.
@@saraczwei6850 I always think V1 is Lucian Freud not Sigmund
@@teslashark Ah, interesting. Looking into it, it seems like Lucien and Walter Freud were cousins.
i love when gamers use their literary analysis skills, bravo

Open-face is a term for sandwiches where the top slice of bread is left off. You can see the ingredients of the filling. It's a very strange contrast to his callsign, an animal that hides in a shell.
Snail is a reference to Speed.
Quite cleverly as well, Rusty’s emblems are the silhouettes of both his ACs. With the Ears as the AC’s head and the Mouth the AC’s torso.
I like the idea that the emblems for bitter promise and the other one were originally swapped in universe. As in the two pilots decided to swap emblems perhaps for a misson promising to swap back. But never did
