- Hello welcome to the channel, thid video we got a nice chance to play with the Scammells for a little bit, we had to move stuff around so I got a chance to take the Scammell Pioneer R100 Artillery tractor around the estate with the GoPro! We also got a nice cold start with the 1944 Scammell Pioneer SV2S Recovery as well as my Cummins ERF! I hope to get some more Scammell Content soon. Hope you enjoy it!

My mate had a scammel explorer for a few years. He’d saved her from the gas axe in a scrap yard but was rough and unfortunately I never got to drive her 😔. There a YT vid of someone floating the gears which is impressive! My mates neighbour had an ERF with Eaton box which I nearly bought as it was on a showman’s licence 😁never did though lol
That's good but also a shame, they are mint to drive once you know how to. My wagons on a showmans at the min too.

Thanks, I was hoping it would work well, I don't think I've ever seen in cab footage driving one. Hopefully going to get some more soon. Maybe different angles and stuff too.
the diamond t is heaven to drive in comparison but can't beat the scammell for of road ability. be good to see the pioneers at a truck show or gaydon as there so far from the norm, had so much interest at shepton mallet with the T it was unbelievable. did you and your dad restore the pioneers?
Yeah I heard storys from the old boys about how the Diamond T were like a modern wagon compared to the Scammell, I would love to get one or 2 to the shows with a stepframe but just depends if I can get use of one cos no space to put one in the yard if I bought one 😂
Hi bud hope your keeping well. That scammell looked so uncomfortable to drive you wonder how they were able to long distance in WW2 with that clutch pedal so high, it sounds good mate, think your on to something with a low loader and truck shows being pulled with the ERF
Yeah I woudnt fancy doing the distance they did! Or the hills up or down! Plus they are flat out at 24 ish, and that's unbearable the noise and bouncing plus mechanical sympathy takes over too, I have a customer who has lots of big toys and he bought a new stepframe so his old one is in his yard, he said if do the labour to get it back on the road I can use it. Fingers crossed that works out.
Do you pop the trigger to help with cold starting? LW's wernt exactly endowed with hp but like every other Gardner they are just top of the list when it comes to reliability in a diesel.
Yeah we popped the cold start in, saves winding on killing the battery's. They are brilliant, they just run and work for ever.
Keep the gears in medium going slow then on high when unladen....

@@ThePhilBilly On the ERF ,you cant just go trough the gears especially when the gear oil is cold and you arent rolling much them twin splitters wont have it even on Roadranger boxes
@@katkylekim mines the 16speed synchro Eaton, not the twin splitter the synchro is tired going into 6th, these Eaton synchro boxes are common for the synchromesh problems apprently.
@@ThePhilBilly Oh right ,TBH i saw the gear lever was different to a twin split but had thought tht it might have been changed . So no clutchless changes in motion i guess...?
@@katkylekim I can drive it clutchless to be honest, it won't let me split a gear without using the clutch though, I find it sometimes changes gear nicer without the clutch haha.
