the only thing I didn't like about the Cybertron games or Prime (Since they are semi-part of the same continuity) was that they never really explained how Megatron could control and manipulate Dark Energon they explained how Optimus could use the Light of Primus because he is not just an honorary prime but also a prime by Blood and ancestry unlike Zeta or Sentinel but for Megatron it is literally never explianed how he could control the Dark Matter of Unicron. unless Megatron is the Spawn of Unicron himself.

My theory is that this is artificial dark energon thus not as powerful, and when tfp happens the artificial stuff has worn out and when he gets the organic stuff straight from the source he can control it better
