    Tesla glass even the front glass does have UV protection and it even has IR rejection. The roof comes 2% from the factory and it does a great job rejecting UV and heat.
    Best way to tint MY is XPEL XR Plus 15 on the front windows as the VLT is closer to 19%. The rear windows come factory 23%. That will make them martch. Then you do XPEL XR Plus 70 on the windshield

    I think you made a good choice. XPEL is a great brand. I recommend doing the windshield too. I will be doing the same on my MY when it comes next week. Thanks for sharing.

    Looks great! I got mine tinted in florida…at 20% all around…..I’m considering the top…..i also did the full frontal ppf……. My next move is to get ceramic on the surface.. to make it easier to clean…….the ppf on the bumper is definitely a must….the Teslas seem to bug magnets in the front! Good job!

    Pro tip- if you have white interior go darker on tint. I just got the 35% ceramic and can’t tell it’s even tinted do to light interior. Your 30% looks a lot darker than mine. Considering doing 70% on front windshield to help even out. If I had to do it over again would have went with 20% on front windows.

      @@SpokenReviews 2022 model S with white interior.
      Ended up with 55% front windshield
      15% front, rear and back window
      5% roof glass.
      Only thing I would change is instead of doing 5% glass roof, I would of done 55% like the front windshield

    The clear ceramic film on the windshield is imperative and makes a world of difference. To even out the factory look on the Y go 30-35% on the front windows and the clear film on the back windows. Dark film over the colored glass makes it really hard to see out of at night. IMO

    One would have imagined that the woman inside the store would have been enamored by the fact you brought to her what may be the most American car on the market today. That said, how awesome was it that she allowed you to film the vetting process. Most companies shun that. Your car looks terrific man, you need to do the windshield and here's why, imagine you're on the road and a spear shaped object penetrates your windshield. The film will assist with resisting an incursion. :-)
    Side note, there's a company out there that makes Gemini wheel covers in black and boy oh boy do they look awesome. I can only imagine how they would look on your grey Model Y. A quick "click click" and you're sporting a whole new look! lol

    What’s a reasonable price to price for the film tint on the model Y?

    • @SpokenReviews
      @SpokenReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Reputable shop $600 ( with high quality material). Windshield would be extra.
      Lower end part of town you might find it for $250 but if there are any issues you would be on your own. Since tesla has extra electronics, you are better off going to a place that specializes on them.

    There was a lot of mediocre information this dealer was pushing. They either don't really know or are just wanting to make a quick sale. Unless Tesla is unique, the front side windows and windshield have some tint. Most cars have between 70 to 80% factory tint. Slapping on a tint that is just above the legal limit will not keep you legal in many cases. Assuming an 80vlt oem window and a 30vlt tint will put you right at a 24% vlt total. Drop the oem vlt to 75 and this puts you at 21 vlt. Both below the limit. It's also not wise to use another car as a reference as the OEM ti t can be significantly different, altering your perception of the finished product. The best way to figure this out is to use a tint meter and calculate the final vlt. It also helps to also measure the film, as all films may vary from production run to production run. This dealer also has a very weak selection. My tint guy had 80, 70, 60 56, 40, 33, 21, 15 and 5 VLT to ore closely get what I wanted. My end result was within 2-4 vlt of my target. Oh, and a clear film for the windshield? I don't believe it. Most windshield tint is in the 70 to 90vlt. Lover Vlt can mess with auto on sensors if you can't adjust the sensitivity..be forwarded.

    Does tinting the windshield cause the windshield tends to crack easily because it absorbs too much heat by the tint
