I'm currently carrying Xpel and Llumar. I don't really prefer one over the other. They each have their pros and cons for installing. Llumar shrinks like butter and has the best color in my opinion. Xpel shrinks well too but takes WAY more heat to shrink. Xpel also has a crazy aggressive adhesive. I installed some Xpel on a smoker's car and it was insane! I had to use so much slip in my solution and it was still popping when I was positioning the patterns. My favorite thing about Xpel is their scratch resistance. I honestly don't even have to wrap my black teflon card when installing this stuff. Never scratches. At the end of the day though, I put the Llumar on my personal vehicle. It doesn't perform quite as well as the Xpel but I couldn't tell in a real world scenario I think. I just love the color of the Llumar. Great video! Thanks for your input.

Great video ! We absolutely love Xpel XR plus because of the Scrach resistance coating is amazing and on windshield Tinting with other products I have finished up and pulled outside and notice fine scratch and then I'm pulling off film but with Xpel I have never seen a scratch no matter how hard I push. The infared block is awesome and the blue look you see inside my showroom and installing but when its out side in daylight we all think it looks amazing. I know LLumar makes awesome products and I like the film you represent for them but have never used it but if I had a second choice I'm sure I'd try that film. Last note : Xpel XR Plus shrinks so good and its thick and it shrinks perfectly and it can take the heat guns up close and I have never ever burned it not even on the hardest rear window or windshields. Again this is my film ( Xpel ) and I've been in buisness or have been filming for 26 years straight. Great Video sir!

Never say never😅😅...sure garware films have a great scratch coat but i have put fine lines on em feom using a card with teflon on... window film should be viewed as a cars clear coat...if you hand wash it it will last longer...etc...
Also the burn film thing..all gilms are just plastic..gimme film...ill burn it if i need to...especially on hard vw beetle rear windows...
But yes they are suoerior on scratch coatings..i just hate that blue color(tungsten) on lighter vlts...as stated in vid...
      Thanks for following!!

Thanks for this video Mike.....We're a Llumar dealer and have been using IRX for a couple years now. However, we tried Xpel XR Prime Plus and absolutely loved how it shrunk and just how the squeegee glides versus the Llumar where it's a lot more tacky.
However, I don't like Xpel's requirements and how you have to move all of your products - PPF, Ceramic Coatings, and Tint while maintaining a certain volume to get access to films and also DAP. We like having flexibility of choosing which film is right for the project and I think Eastman has been way more supportive in terms of marketing and support for their dealers without being so demanding like Xpel sometimes.....

Living and driving in California highways, for the past 15 years, Ive gone through 4 different vehicles in which each had 15-20% ceramic film on the 2 front side windows, and 7-10% for the 3 rear windows. As well as a very light llumar air series on the windshield and sunroof, I believe they were 85-90%. Ive never been pulled over by a cop or questioned for my window tint. I also see many vehicles on the road with similar or even darker shades all around. Yes, California does have a window tint law, but it is very unclear as there's no clear definition to what is legal and illegal. Due to the fact some cars may have dark interior and light interior which dictate the appearance of the shade each window tint (percent of visibility, color, shades, brands, all variables that determine appearance) is viewed from the outside, looking in. Its under the enforcing officer judgement if a fix it ticket is issue for tint that may appear a distraction to the driver or other motorist sharing the road. Also, the fix it ticket gives the vehicles owner options to either have the tint removed and pay a small fine (20-30$ inspection) or pay a larger fine (150-200$) and leave them the way they are and move on. Most people just pay the larger fine and leave the tint the way it is and move on since the cost of the tint usually exceed the fine. There are some installers, that provide fix it ticket insurance here in California, where they will remove and reinstall the tint for free if a fix it ticket is issued to you. Yes, you might get pulled over again for tint violation, but it is very highly unlikely unless you vehicle screams look at me in some obnoxious way!!!.

Nice reviews!! I’m glad you pointed Xpel is a Garware product..or maybe?..I read that it was a Garware product somewhere too..On a tint forum I believe..For me Prime Xpel came out of nowhere as a window film company they were known for a great ppf..Even Solarfx blew up..I believe they are very similar..But whoever the CEO’s are for them should get a raise for the job they have done,Making a name in the market..Garware is amazing and has many babies or distributors:Global/Express/Armolan/Solarfx etc..and maybe prime Xpel? But I do like Suncontrol and I am putting it on a trial test..Also like the fact that it actually has the Garware name on its boxes..There website needs a bit of improvement IMO..

Johnson's InsulateIR also suffers ghosting of the lamination adhesive from shrinking extremely easily, slowing down install time & tends to suffer badly from low angle haze & "doubling" of headlights in the mirror along demister lines through poor refraction characteristics over the raised sections. I had to work with it for a few yrs & I'd honestly rather work with the early 2000's 3M "Black" (CS-35) , which is really saying something!

Hey Mike, have you ever tried or reviewed the Nanoflex film yet? Because Ralph van Pelt, saying that it's a 98% IR rejection. Posted videos comparing it to most popular films. Claiming it's the best heat rejection tint film ever in the market that using carbon Nano ceramic. Is that true? is the Nanoflex is the best?! or just a sales trap?! Thank you.

The IR block is not the ONLY factor in qualifying a film to be a good quality product..that is only 1 factor...there are many..but these lines of film are established..unlike that line..

Have you ever tested the Xpel Xr Plus against Autobahn Ceramic i3? If so, which performed better? Any dye in Xpel Xr Plus film? What price point is the Xr Plus at installed on an average midsize 4dr? I need to make a choice between i3 and XR Plus for my vehicle.
    Thanks

I have tested both independently...IR wise xr plus has higher...but my review states the blue hue is a major drawback.....for customers...if they accept that hue...then all is well....
Autobahn I3 i have tested...it has 90ish IR block which is Phenomenal....and in my opinion a better looking and super clear product....pricier than xr plus....
So if u have the Clientele autobahn would fit perfect...
      This is my opinion...
      Xr costs 1100$ roll
      Autobahn I3 is 1400$ roll...
Still way better than the awful Crystalline product...

This reviewer is not honest. He is obviously paid by XPEL. He is providing misleading info about the IR spectrum as he is measuring outside the IR range calling it “full spectrum” and using that data to push XPEL. Then he goes off about VLT misrepresenting 3M Crystalline.
