    It looks like nothing else out there. To me, that's a good thing. I love the way the crown looks with monopaint. I just took delivery of my limited Crown, and I averaged 47.5 MPG on my first tank. The ride is extremely smooth and and so quiet inside. It has exceeded my expectations. Go test drive one and see yourself.

    I’ve been driving mine for almost two months and I love it. I get constant questions and compliments about the looks, people really do like it. There’s more room inside than in my Camry and I get between 40 and 56 MPG on the freeway.
    The only complaints that I have are that there’s a bit of wind noise by the top of the driver’s door at about 65 and the wireless charger makes my phone get really hot, which is bad for the battery.

    You have a point about the cruise control stalk. Toyota’s classic stalk was and is the best setup for CC ever implemented. It debuted all the way back in 1989 on the original LS400 and stuck around this long for good reason.

    • @faeinthebay
      @faeinthebay 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think they ditched it to make their cars more conventional and easy to switch to. Most competitors, like Honda and Hyundai and GM, use steering wheel controls. I like Hyundai's controls and even though other brands have a slightly weird layout, it's still easier for me to switch compared to a stalk.

    • @drivedb7
      @drivedb7 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      @@faeinthebay- I assume they ditched it because it was becoming harder to incorporate radar cruise features with it. Whatever the reason, with it gone now, the steering wheel is a mess of buttons and using the system is more cumbersome. The old stalk was so easy that Ray Charles could figure out how to use it.

So Toyota decided to sell it in Japan and other countries if I’m not mistaken for couple of decades. This new Crown is gorgeous. I've seen two on the road so far since October, and I got to say they look even better in person. The proportions are kind of funky at first, but when you actually see the car in person, everything just works so well. So many curves. This car is head and shoulders better than the hideous previous gen Avalon. With that being said, I do really wish there was a V6 option.

    You mentioned the JBL system being just okay, and that makes sense. I was really disappointed that they gave it an 800-watt system (like the Corolla, Prius, RAV4, etc.) instead of a 1200-watt system (like the Venza, Highlander, Tundra, etc.). I absolutely love the JBL system in my 2023 Venza and really expected a similar, or better, system in their new flagship sedan. It blows my husband’s ‘23 RAV4’s JBL out of the freakin’ water.

    Chris, If your exercise in self restraint yielded 40 mpg, I am confident I could easily get 50 with this car.😉I really hope Toyota has not subverted the future of the Crown line in our market by reintroducing the name with such an 'unusual' model. The Crown sedan, CUV and especially the Estate were such fine looking and /or practical cars it will be a pity if we can't get them. Once the Camry offers Hybrid AWD, this Crown will be an even tougher sell. As every Crown is AWD, it would have made sense to offer a Trail mode with RWD bias like RAV4s etc.

    My dad would love this lol. He really likes the high seating vehicles. They should of made this a hatch or sport back for it to really make sense.

      At 70 years old that is the reason I test drove it...the raised seat height. Makes a big difference to slide in vs "drop in". I really liked it.

    Still find it weird to have this called a crown. Loved the classic boxy sedan the crown ever was (Hong Kong red Taxis), absolutely spacious and comfortable given their age.
    On a side note, how could the FC is lower on highway than city?

    The reason we purchased the Crown Limited over the Camary is due to the ride height and AWD.

    i know what they're doing here, its for older folks who liked the Avalon but that car's sales were too bad so they lifted it to try and get that very narrow market of people who don't want a full SUV but still want higher ride height.

    The only issue with this car is the pricing. I got my ES300h for around the same price as this.

    • @ro0ster648
      @ro0ster648 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      It depends on what you're looking for. ES300h have 2 electric motors, this have 3, hence this car have more hp and torque than the ES300h and gets to 0-60 in 7.6s instead of 8.1s on the ES300h. Also ES300h is only FWD, this is AWD and sits a little higher. The Crown Limited also got some features such as the heated rear seats that is not available in the ES.
