I used to cross that old Burdekin Bridge several times a week when I was learning to become a Train Driver in Townsville back in 2002. I don't envy you poor truckies having to hold a wheel all that way at 2am in the morning. At least we didn't have to steer. Do you prefer this automatic transmissions over the manual ?
@thehomelesstrucky I got my semi licence years ago but only ever drove trucks on the odd occasion in my early 20's. Unfortunately I never really got the hang of speed/rpm/gear matching. That being said, I learnt on an F86 Volvo single drive with sincrobox and later S Line 9 speed roadranger. Then 15 speed Acco and Last was a Freighliner 18 slitter. I did try an International tipper which had an Auto once. I remember being disappointed that I wasn't going to be able to practice gear jamming. So many good instructional videos on the internet now, that I wish I still had the opportunity to have a go. Anyways, don't let Mr Fox run you too ragged. Cheers Adrian. PS. I reckon I saw you come through town a couple of times. 👍
The last 2 years google maps has got so bad, even around Melbourne where I grew up and live it sends you in circles. You need to have a rough idea of the the main roads. Another bad thing is when it says “we have found a quicker route, if you wish to stay on the current route press NO”. If your not quick enough or don’t press NO it changes. 😡. Brother with a tanker got sent up a goat track “truck GPS unit”

Great trip homeless Welcome to Brisbane!!
Good video ken 👍
Thanks 👍
I used to cross that old Burdekin Bridge several times a week when I was learning to become a Train Driver in Townsville back in 2002. I don't envy you poor truckies having to hold a wheel all that way at 2am in the morning. At least we didn't have to steer. Do you prefer this automatic transmissions over the manual ?
No,… I much prefer the manuals,… just have more control over the vehicle
Well done Ken,
Its a hard shift when you get out late and you gotta drive all night.
It’s getting to be the norm lately lol
Seen you rolling into gympie on Friday going south
Tried the uhf no luck
I’m pretty sure I had it on,… if there’s too much crap going on I’ll turn it down
@@thehomelesstrucky
All good
Loving the vids mate.. keep up the good work and shiny side up
Thanks 👍
The last 2 years google maps has got so bad, even around Melbourne where I grew up and live it sends you in circles. You need to have a rough idea of the the main roads.
Another bad thing is when it says “we have found a quicker route, if you wish to stay on the current route press NO”. If your not quick enough or don’t press NO it changes. 😡.
Brother with a tanker got sent up a goat track “truck GPS unit”
Yeah, you gotta know where your going,… I mainly use it for times between different places or ETAs,… the maps are great in the fog and heavy rain
I used to run to Brisbane Cairn’s 1 week, then to Mt Isa the next week or Melbourne, normally quick hitch out of Brisbane back in 1981
That would of been hard but probably more fun than today,…
Love your work mate

Very enjoyable but the humming noise every time you're in the truck was really distratcting, hope you can fix.
