Hi Ken, mate I really look forward to my weekly dose of The Homeless Trucky.
That was a really interesting and entertaining trip. More tomatoes will magically appear in the Melbourne supermarkets. It's good to see things from your perspective.
Ken it was great meeting you at Kerry Road the other day. It's true what they say about you, is that Ken is the same guy you see in the videos. May you continue to keep making your videos. I totally enjoy your videos Ken. In fact they may be the only videos I watch through that are more than 30 minutes long. My favourite parts are the countryside vistas you show when driving. I've been away from Australia for four and a half years now and cannot tell you how much I long to experience Australian scenery first hand again. Will happen in March next year and coincidentally will be driving many of the QLD and upper NSW roads you were on this trip.

As a old Sunshine boy, next time you are at your Melbourne depot grab the company ute & goto Glengala Road shopping strip on Glengala Road, West Sunshine.
Only 6 minutes from your depot & drop into Sunshine Social Cafe for a great feed at s great price.
It was a old Shell Servo converted into a American style drive in diner.
Go there regularly & highly recommend it if you don't want to eat servo station food.

G'day mate, another great video. People in my town complain about the cost of Veg/Fruit etc, I tell them that when I moved from Adelaide to Camperdown Vic that I did it in a box truck and then took the truck back to Adelaide. 1,600ks cost me over $700 10 years ago when Deisel was cheaper. Maybe try explaining Ks V Liters/$ so people have a better appreciation of cost and I didn't have refrigeration units that's an extra cost. If it wasn't for guys like you Australia would stop. Thanks mate you're a bloody ripper.

Great trip, I love that country in SW Queensland, we recently had a week around Miles, Roma and StGeorge and all the small towns in that area, great places and people.
Kenny, another great one music and all, yeah putting in the extra 100 litres at that point just relieves the stress a bit doesn’t it. Good to see your back in your second home 1715, just makes things more normal. Got a giggle outta that’s Miles etc, ya could have said something like that’s Port Phillip Bay and had a photo of that big coat hanger in the shot lol. Nothing like a neat full load of products in a reefer trailer, reminds me all those years at Woollies doing full 48ft trailers of milk, yogurt, chicken, meat tray.

Yeah, Ken that's exactly the way I'd come down from Mackay to Melbourne, wouldn't fancy tackling the ranges too early out of Mackay especially that Nebo road, nor doing the Mount Morgan bit at night, that's got hairs on it. Good to see you got the old girl back, hope they've ironed all the glitches out.

Really enjoyed the highway and countryside views Ken! It just shows how huge Aus is with the changing vistas and vegetation from Bowen to Melbourne. I often wonder how you cope with sleeping at a certain time. Do you ever hit the pillow but then can't sleep, knowing you have to get up in say 7 hours, even after a long day of driving? Just curious how you manage it all.. Thanks!
You just get used to the odd hours,… I’m usually buggered by the end of the day anyway so it’s not all that hard to fall asleep lol

Hey Ken a few questions about your truck. 1- How long do you get assigned your current truck for ? 2- Do you get any say in the type of truck you are assigned long term next time e.g long noses, cabover or Brand ? 3- As a long distance driver do they give you any special features in your truck e.g bigger sleeper, Ice packs, more storage etc ? thanks Dave
Usually you keep the same truck for two or even three years

The new trucks have a TV, microwave and more storage,… all the linehaul trucks have icepacs.

In the States its 11 hours, 70 hrs duty time in 8 days.. Here in Canada 13hrs driving, 70hrs duty time in 7 days.. In the Staes when they run out of hrs they have to take a 34hr reset, Canada we have to take 36hrs.. unless you recap and thats a whole new story
I am just curious how many days do you work in a week before you have your off days or breaks day. I am watching your video from Singapore
I can work 84 hours a week,… so that may take 6 days,… but I have to have a 24 hour break once a week and a 24 hour and a night break every fortnight

Great video as ever , when you say 7 hrs of how on earth do you keep your eyes open, you must be knackered, we take a minimum of 9 hrs for 3 days but you must have 11 hrs of for the other 2 here in England
I take it you got your truck fixed, what was wrong with the gearbox in the end?
I could’ve stayed longer if I thought I needed to but because I already used up my 3 hours rest break I only needed to to sit for 7 hours ,… I think I was there for 7 and a half hours
What was the problem with the gearbox in last video ken?
Are driving hrs are so different to yours

do you notice much different when switching between 1715 and the other ostensibly identical trucks? Found one you like better?
The loan truck is 4 years younger so it’s a little bit quieter inside than my old truck,… but both have about the same pulling power.
