toyota needs to learn how to make things the way the mod visionaries make things and the trucks would be so insane...but then all these guys wouldn't have a profession
Back when I was first buying my Taco I originally went to a Toyota dealership in VA Beach. I had basically closed on a 2019 Off Road when they told me the rack and pinion was cracked. They offered to fix it and said it would be ready by that Tuesday. Tuesday rolls around and they tell me it’s gonna be Friday now. Friday turns into Monday. I walked away from the deal and found a 2018 Off Road in pristine condition the next day at a Chevy Dealership.
This mechanic legit makes my heart warm. There are so many shady mechanics out there who would cut corners and lie to you about their experience. This guy is the wizard of drivetrain 🎩
Mark of a true professional, a clean work bench with only the tools out that he's currently using and puts them away, in their proper place, as soon as he's done with them!
Yep the guy is a real pro , just got my 2021 Tacoma re-geared with 4.88 , the truck feels amazing. Drove from Vancouver, WA to Cashmere, WA about 5hrs , stayed over night and got the truck back , broke the gears in and tge truck feels awesome. I usually don't let anyone work on my Toy but with that guy in charge , anytime. Thanks again guys
Don't understand the dislikes. For those of us that have been around this game for decades, and have plenty of technical aptitude ourselves, this guy is the real deal...straight up professional and a master of his craft. Instead of criticizing sh*t, we in the community should be celebrating such great work and professionalism. There are so many out there that do crap work, it is great to see this level of expertise. Don't know the dudes at Nitro and never heard of them, but well done!!
This is the best gear install video I have ever seen. The editing was well done but the mechanic was a damn surgeon. That was very entertaining to watch.
I like this guys work ethics... takes the extra steps to grease the bearing and lock tight. I do that at work but most managers don’t care for it since it takes time.. they want quantity not quality
1st time Tacoma owner here, I grew up in Cashmere, Wa. I always used bikes to get around in the hills there, but it’s really cool to see the local folks getting recognition 😁
It’s amazing how professionals can make this look so easy. I too would make the drive from Portland to have this shop do my gear change. Great video, thanks for highlighting this shop.

MPG, drivability, and low end response improves for off-roading and just pulling away from a stop sign. One big advantage people often do overlook is that also remove ALOT of strain on a transmission that costs more than gears.
