I have a 2022 Tacoma TRD Off Road 4dr with a 4Wheel Camper .. the Swift. I put on 265/75 16" BFG KO2's. The truck shifts a lot and cruise control is about worthless. Now after doing my homework I see where the stock 3.90's are only meant to give you better gas mileage. My truck loaded weighs 4865 lbs .. with the camper .. 6100 lbs. I have a set of 5.29's coming and figure that should eliminate the shifting problem. We shall see!
it will help however you may still run into the shift point issues. I recommend pairing this with the OTT tune that will help the shifting issue.
I’d watch the long form.
Can you post the part number for the Yukon gear set please.
8 months ago.....you've come a long way, Jeff. Good job on the pattern reading, too. ZUK
Awesome bro. I’ve heard so many great things about the regear
Night and day. And with the Re-tune! Ah… chefs kiss!!
Mumfy! I just have a question brother, I’ll be installing some lift at about 2.5 front 1.5 rear, I was wondering that if I got some 17x8.5 0 offset wheels, and added some 1.25 spacers, will that rub by any chance ? Or would I need a chop? I’ll be running 265 falkins wildpeak!
Because the 265s are a smaller tire, I don't forsee any rubbing issues. if you go to 285 and up then you might start to see rubbing issues. Remember that the lift and the wheel spacers are changing the geometry of the suspension and the wheel position.
What bed rack is that?
@@thatsicktacosauce it from Saints Off-road. Check out the video here… th-cam.com/video/snFiEcsPL-o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dIV18PGDNiBoYJl7
Thanks! Been looking for a new taller one for a while now and really like the look and layout of yours @Mumfy64
What was the full cost?
Hello Mumfy. Jeffrey is a real master at understanding and explaining these complicated machines, he took care of business like a wizard! Can't imagine what you have upcoming. All these upgrades are outstanding for sure. Maybe Toyota will take notice and come up with the Mumfy Edition!
Yes Geoff truly is a master of his craft, and a certified Toyota mechanic.
Talked to a shop. Looks like I’m going with Yukon 5.29 as well.
You won't regret them.
@@Mumfy64 after this tune, I’m going straight to suspension, tires, then tune (in that order). I just hope I can get an OTT close by. I’ve heard the KDMax is ok but some folks that had both preferred the OTT for some reason.
He makes it look easy. How much for a needle bearing change out on the front end ball park ?
In part 2 I have the front diff upgraded and it'll show the needle bearing change out. You can look at roughly $300 for just the needle bearing swap. That is a local to Utah ballpark figure.
@@Mumfy64 Thanks pal.
Very nice!! I need
What a difference it makes.
Looks really expensive, 3 or 4 K?
It is an expensive upgrade for sure, and not for everyone. You are in the range on cost for the install. Contact your local installer for an accurate quote.
I paid around 3

Thar parts and labor or just labor?
You mean you didn’t upgrade your bumpstops at the same time 😮? 😂
Not this time. Lol. Still haven’t decided on what to go with. Have any recommendations?
Sumo springs can’t go wrong
Do you need to have it tuned again now that you’re regeared?
@@HM-vu9zw I’ve heard good things about them.
@@HM-vu9zw yes. I’ll get it retuned for the 5.29s.
