    Matt Dillahunty delivers yet another excellent video. Matt has the ability to bring to words the thoughts of what most non Believers have tried to say. I wish I could speak as well as him. We can all learn from Matt.
    I have an Incredible respect for Matt, as does Millions of Followers.

    Thanks for having Matt on the show and making it 3h! I watched it in separate chunks, but overall nice conversations.
    But people not accepting evolution are always frustrating to listen to, because they immediately reveal that they have no understanding of how it works and what it explains.

    • @kkme7
      @kkme7 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think you are wrong disrespecting believers like that.
      Their belief in a god doesn't tell you anything about their intelligence and as you saw in this video they are smart and well spoken.
      Their reasoning is flawed in some areas and they make some wrong assumptions in other areas, but I can understand that if their information comes from a bad source and gets reinforced by their surroundings (like in the case of evolution), they'll end up holding bad positions confidently.
      Though I do understand your frustration of hearing the same bad arguments again and again (e.g. Pascal's wager) these arguments do their job by sounding compelling when not closer inspected.
      Putting all believers into one pot ignores the myriad of believers there are out there. You don't see Matt talking evolution with Francis Collins because they both agree on the topic.

      The last 40 years? Try the last 2400 years. Kalam comes directly from Aristotle. The prime mover thing was pretty compelling when all we knew about space and time is what we could think really hard about while sitting on a rock. (Aristotle, by the way, thought heavy things fall faster than light things because it was common sense, and testing things was too menial. If he'd ever taken the time to take a heavy rock and a light rock and drop the fuckers, maybe we could have had the scientific revolution 2000 years early, and subsequently cured cancer, Alzheimer's, and the common cold while building massive colonies on the moon, Mars, and under the ocean using unlimited fusion power discovered in the year 400AD.)

    The average pew sitter must be really disappointed when they first jump off the deep end into apologetics. It goes from "Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so!" and "God loves you, he can do anything!" to "Yeah... you know that prayer thing, it doesn't really work, oh and we don't know who wrote the Bible, oh and evolution actually did happen, also the universe really is 13.7 billion years old, oh and we don't actually have scientific evidence for God, oh and it turns out the ending of mark was tacked on later and the Bible you are holding is not the perfect inerrant word of God...."
    Must be quite a shock. I don't really understand how apologists can give so much ground but still be Christians...

      That is when most become atheist. It scary to think with ALL that new information and debunking of their entire belief system.. how anyone can still remain drunk on the kool-aid. Boggles the mind.
      Here I am many years later.. and I still find hundreds of things wrong EVERY DAY with what I believed as a Christian. It's just nuts..

      I've been an atheist for at least 25 years, and **I** still find new and astonishingly wrong things that I just assumed were correct. Just a week or so ago I discovered MOSES was not historical at all. I knew the Exodus never happened, but no one ever told me Moses was completely mythical. Why does this not come up more often? I was watching a vid about the historicity of Jesus, and someone just threw it out there that they've known for years and years that Moses was not historical as a side comment and I just about fell out of my chair. So I did some research, and sure enough--it's simple accepted scholarship that Moses was myth. What the hell? Why were people questioning Christian Bale about what kind of person Moses was? He never freakin' existed!

      Kodi James We already know the flood story was plagiarized from Gilgamesh, and the Exodus has absolutely no archeological evidence or Egyptian record of ever occurring in any way. If fact, all the evidence indicates it didn't happen. It is also sort of odd that Christians would just accept Moses as the author of the Pentateuch when A) it is just Jewish tradition, not scholarship or evidence, that he authored it, B) the author of those books never signed any copies or included his name in any of the texts as the author, C) the author is describing what happened at Moses death, and D) the author is describing everything in third person ("Moses did this and Moses did that, then Moses died and everybody cried").

    I've reached a point with Christians now... that if they say they don't credit evolution, I just can't take them seriously anymore. The genetic record, the fossil record, the recent studies with fast breeding animals that created new sub species incapable of interbreeding... and so on. Anyone who says they don't credit evolution to me just seems to be some armchair, internet fed professor who thinks a few weeks reading blogs is the same as a lifetime of study from millions of different people finding the same results.

      That is also a 'Claim' that is in correct.
      An ancient Jewish worshiper would never make a statue of Jesus at any rate. It would have been synonymous with idolatry. Greeks, Romans and others were replete with statues of there Rulers because they viewed them as gods.
      But in a opposing vein, Socrates is argued to not have ever been a real person because he never wrote anything, in spite of the fact they have statues. How do we know he exist?
      Well...🤔...his impact on the philosophical mind. Jesus' existence is well attested from enemies and followers a like. But anything historical can be denied just for the sake of denying. It's quite....for a lack of better words....childish.

      Wait... doesn't the atheist believe when we die, that's it? We're just maggot food? They don't believe in the soul and what happens to it when our mortal bodies give out. We will just cease to be in their view, right?

      K: Mommy what happens when I die?
      M: well honey nothing. Your body goes into the ground and well that's it.
      K:......ok
      Isn't that disgusting?
      Hell is literally separation from God.
      If Christians are wrong and atheists are correct, then I guess it doesn't really matter because we'll just cease to be.
      However, when we are at the end of life and turns out we are standing in the presence of God, would the atheist accept him? I don't even think it's eternally too late at that point. I don't know the workings of God and the extent of his grace, but my question would be if (yes I know y'all don't like the word "if" here) if you were face to face with the Existing One, would you WANT to be with him forever?

      anonymous johnson proven is a pretty strong word. If the universe began to exist, and the science suggests that it did, something had to bring it into existence. Assuming that you agree that things can't just pop into existence uncaused . Since matter, space and time are a part of the universe whatever brought it into existence be bound by that Realm of existence. Therefore it is outside of space-time matter and energy as we know it. It's an inference to the best explanation. Not necessarily proof. And to say that we just don't know what it is so there's no reason to believe a God did it is just a naturalism of the gaps argument.

    I always felt that, like in the pixies example... That a being not being able to control its death and is a counter to the claim amine is needed to be able to create something. Like in the kalam... Since it's based off intuition, How they get to it being a being is because it takes a mind to create something. But in this universe everything dies. So intuition should lead that a God/pixie would probably also have died creating the universe. That it didn't have a control of its death and his death resulted in the universe. And if it's mind was not needed then intuitively we can not then say it needed a mind.

    • @lmbaseball15
      @lmbaseball15 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      To add... The pixie had no choice of his life expectancy.
      Another cool thought... Is if you divided 2 mins in half and continued to divide the result in half... You get infinite time... So an hour in this universe would be 4 hrs in another realm 16 hrs in another realm. 256 hrs.... To Infinite time in a realm. Of course we need evidence and the answer is still I don't know.. Just cool to think about. Kinda a pointer for ppl that say an infinite regress is impossible. We don't know how time works. Plus it's special pleading to say a God can exist like in timelessness as such but exclude a natural force

    The problem I see with saying the formation of protein structures can't occur by evolution but only by God (intelligent design) is you're not talking about what caused it (whether it was God or evolution), you're talking about HOW whatever caused it did so.
    The Objection is HOW evolution caused it. But if you're talking about the HOW then you have to talk about HOW God formed them as well.
    HOW did God create protein structures? HOW did God create DNA? What the Christian is offering as the explanation is not an explanation at all.
    I mean in the bible it says "God formed the man out of the dust of the ground, and blew into his nostrils the breathe of life, and the man became a living soul (being)."
    But HOW does that work? HOW does breathing into the nostrils of a dust sculpture make the dust turn into living cells with DNA, HOW does that form complex protein structures?
    Offering God as an explanation, is not actually offering an explanation at all, because nobody knows HOW God does these things they are saying he did.
    If you ask the question of HOW your house came to exist, would me saying a person built it answer that question? NO.
    The question was HOW it came to exist, not who or what caused it to exist.
    For the question to actually be answered I'd have to tell you HOW the person built the house. I have to tell you, "he cleared away the ground and leveled the plot of land, he poured and leveled a foundation, he put up the framing, he put in pipes and wiring, he hung drywall, etc..."
    That is explaining HOW the house came to exist (how it came to be). Just telling you a person did it doesn't explain HOW they did it, so it doesn't explain HOW the house came to exist.
    But Christians don't give the HOW, they just give the WHO. Which tells us nothing about HOW life came to exist. So it is not an explanation. In order for it to tell us HOW life came to exist, you have to explain HOW his powers work to make life, and that is the part Christians completely skip over, so they are not really offering an explanation at all.

    To the self-consciousness-issue:
    Can somebody give me a coherent definition for what this even is?
    I mean, I get that this is currently a huge issue for many people (even though I don't see the issue). However it seems like it is just something the theist brings up, because it's a topic we don't have all the answers to yet... and even worse, where we don't even have a proper definition, therefore by necessity we can't possibly have a scientific model to explain it (you cannot "explain" something in scientific terms, if you don't have a proper definition). It's kind of a "god of the gaps" argument, where the theist knows that most of our answers are "We don't know", but people FEEL, simply intuitively, that there must be some deep, ground-breaking explanation.
    So... any definition? Any real "concept" that we even can discuss?
    And as the cherry on top: Any EVIDENCE that the thing you are refering to is linked to something supernatural?

    The answer to the question that Matt was looking for in his last conversation right before the end is this. A necessary and sufficient cause cannot exist without the effect also existing unless the cause has personal agency and can decide when to cause the effect. The universe creating pixie would have to have the property of personal agency. At that point you're describing the Christian view of God so there's no point in changing the name to a Universe creating pixie. Also a necessarily existent being is only necessarily existent if his nonexistence is impossible.

    • @TravellingMark5454
      @TravellingMark5454 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fully agree that the average American could NOT go a full day of constant running, but ultra-marathon runners aren't exactly non-american, and even the idea of how far and how fast that pace is can boggle anyone's mind!
      I brought this fact up as it ties in well with this false notion that evolution isn't a thing. Our ancestors, who were moving away from quadrupedal walking to being bipeds managed to conserve calories and energy from less motion (walking instead of sauntering) and therefore able to spend less energy on hunting and gathering to spending more time reproducing. Yet when we look at the human skeleton we see all the remnants of an animal that once walked on all fours.
      Regardless of all that, I've always wanted to disagree with Matt on something, sure I could kick his butt at a 1/4 mile run but I want to be able to reason as well he can.

    I still find my point of a lack of humility to be devastating to the claims of theists being "humble".
    It's not meant to be insulting, but a simple expression of reality.
    If you believe that the creator of a 46.5b ly wide universe, and 24.5 million species is your father, expresses *any* concern with how you conduct yourself, and most importantly, that you carry around it's message, and know what it wants...
    ...then there is no way you can ever claim humility.
    It is the epitome of pompacity.
    It is the exact vacuum of humility.
    There is no scope you can apply that minimizes the arrogance and egotistical stature of the claim.

    • @coachmarc2002
      @coachmarc2002 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's your opinion and your entitled to it. At least give you props for being polite about it . What it really boils down to is that my worldview allows for an outside intelligence to be involved in the design that theists call obvious and atheists call apparent. The type of information in DNA that is required for life to get started had to come from somewhere. Theists say God is the source of the information and instructions that DNA gives for the building of proteins and other molecular machines required for a single cell to survive and replicate itself. An atheist can't allow for an outside intelligence to be involved so they suppress their own ability to Intuit design in what they see around them in the world and the specified complex information that science demonstrates is in the genome. An atheist must believe that that type of information arose from a non intelligent source. That being matter just laying around someplace assembled itself into a living self-replicating organism. My opinion is that it takes a lot more faith to believe that than to believe that there is an intelligent God directing everything.

    • @romant142
      @romant142 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      coachmarc2002 I think when it comes to science whether someone is an atheist or Theist should have no bearing. When scientists look at the anything they have never come across anything pointing to an outer intelligence, good scientists aren't bias in that they have to hold onto a belief in atheism. Faith is only held in high regard in religion and creationists have to put that on atheists in that way to make a false equivalency because science doesn't take faith it has evidence for the things it observes. Did you listen to Matt during this or any other time is pretty good at explaining things.

    2:29:00 That is just begging the question. Information is associated

    intelligence, and humans are made by DNA. So, you can't use your
    historical abductive method, because that method should you lead to the
    conclusion that people made DNA who are made by DNA. You just assume
    that there is some other intelligence that made DNA that makes people,
    hence you already assume what you ought to prove. Your Apologetics

    • @BurakovAS
      @BurakovAS 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      coachmarc2002 no, that's the thing you moron. It's not "obvious" that the intelligence in question is god. "Historical abductive" method relies on - gasp! - history, i.e. things that we know already happened. We know humans have happened, and they have intelligence. Therefore, if you are to claim that intelligence is required for creating the DNA, the prime (and really, _only_ ) candidate for this spot is humans, not god. God isn't anywhere to be found in history, and to assume him as the "obvious" answer *is* a fallacy.

Matt explained his position very thoroughly at the start.
    Sorry, I've listened to this video twice now and Josh's voice and inept argumentation annoyed me more and more. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie.

    • @barrycharlesbrebner
      @barrycharlesbrebner 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh hi, thank you for your comments and questions. To answer one of your questions very simply, what is the truth...well Jesus is the Truth. Everything about Jesus is the truth, all that Jesus said and did truth...Jesus is the complete embodyment of truth...walking living truth. Not one single bit of Jesus is anything but truth, right down to the core. I'd like to think that most of what i think is true but i know better, i know that there are things that i think that are not all true...what those things are, i am not sure of yet...but as i go along and look to God to know what is true, i learn along the way.
      I did not just read the Bible and believe it for no reason...it is not a shallow belief in something because i read it in a book or because some people said it is true...because i'd say more people say the Bible is untrue more than the people who know it is true.
      I know it is true because of miraculus events in my life and the most signifigent one was not long after i cried out to God and prayed to God to forgive me of my sin...telling God i was so very sorry for the all the bad things i had done and that i did not want to do any bad things ever again along side that was my faith in Jesus beleiving that Christ, Jesus had died for my sins and that i could be forgiven.
      And low and behold maybe about a week or two after i prayed ernestly to God...the miraculous happened and it just so happened at my Grandmothers funneral...and i had no idea this was going to happen...not even the slightest idea...but Jesus came in the Spirit and baptised me in the Holy Spirit and in an instand i felt all my sins washed away, forgiven, cleansed and this weight of guilt that i was carrying lifted off of my shoulders that i had no idea that guilt could even have a weight but it does and it can...but this weight that i had no idea that i had on me...that i was carrying was instantly lifted and i felt a Holy Presence...and this Holy presence came into me...and witnessed to me, told me that it is the Holy Spirit that is in me...the Spirit of God, His Holy Spirit told me and i could feel Him and still can and still do and also i was filled with JOY AND PEACE AND LOVE and my whole body was tinggly inside and out and i felt so light that i felt like i was going to lift right off of the floor in front of everyone...i didn't mind you but i think i could have and someday i will when Jesus comes back. After this happened to me...when i was reading the Bible i found out what happened to me was in the Bible...that Gid gives people the Holy Spirit...i found out after i received it...and after that i was filled with love for everyone...a deep sense of love for every person. Many many things have happened since then and many miraculous events that can not just be explained away but chance. You may find this hard to believe when i tell you that i know that i know the truth! And how do i know, because God has revealed the truth to me with certainty and you too can know what is true...befor that i did not know if God even existed...nor could i know, nor can anyone because it is sin that seperates people from God and that makes them blind and in darkness because of sin and they can not figure it out in their mind. Because to know God it is through the heart by the Holy Spirit because God is Spirit ans truth and light and life, Holy and pure. You can come into a relationship with God through Christ...God wants to bring you out of darkness and death and into the light and life forever with Him as an adopted Child of God...A wonderful position to be in and it is all a free gift from God because God is love...nothing we can do to earn it or deserve it...God provides everything...Such a wonderful Father...God is so good to us...and we get to choose to embrace all the goodness of God or regect God for evil...you get to choose my friend and God will even help you choose and find the Way to Him and He is even calling you right now in Jesus name amen

      @Psicólogo Miguel Cisneros well no, your experience will most likely not be exactly the same, but will have similarities. Well pretty much, if you truly are sorry, and you go to God and confess, and if you have the desire to live for God, with faith in Jesus. God will know if you are serious or not about this, your motives and such...if you are genuine about it, God will receive you. Simple child-like faith, it is not complicated, God knows and sees your heart.

    • @barrycharlesbrebner
      @barrycharlesbrebner 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Psicólogo Miguel Cisneros oh okay, interesting; i was wondering what was going on with you and your specific line of questioning...now i know.
      There are some things about your story, your dream that make me think that it was not Jesus. Like for one, you being scared, to death even and then when you asked a question, you did not get an answer strait away. Jesus would know "Who" you meant. Honestly, it sounds like a demonic action, trying to keep you away from a true encounter with Christ.
      I think if it was Jesus, you would have had an overwhelming sense of peace and love, and felt a Holy presence, and you would not be scared;
      but the last part, the beam of light and the feeling of "ascending up", now that sounds like JESUS, bringing YOU UP AND OUT of death, the pit and out of the presence of demons.
      I feel like the Holy Spirit is bearing witness to me this; the beginning of your dream was demonic, but then Jesus came and brought you out!
      This it think is really good news, it looks like YOU ARE GOING TO BE A CHILD OF GOD, if you are not already!
      Just keep seeking after God, after Jesus and God will reveal to you the answer to the questions you are having and will confirm with you, if you are His! And if you are not yet born-again just keep pressing in towards God, until you are; with faith in Jesus. The Holy Spirit will guide you!

    Well, I thought this was great. I think Apologetics Academy provided some very intelligent people for Dillahunty. I keep seeing articles about theists that turned from atheism, but their arguments are infantile which shows that people can have an opinion of a matter for bad reasons, and then switch to another opposite opinion for equally bad reasons. I think the people who publish those articles are having issues finding people of great intellect, unlike Apologetics Academy which seemed to have many intellectuals to choose from -- maybe the USA is just intellect poor.

    • @TheZooCrew
      @TheZooCrew 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think your standards are exceedingly low. I wouldn't qualify any of the apologists here as "intelligent." Repeatedly coming to erroneous conclusions due to an unwillingness to think critically is not a hallmark of intelligence.

    • @DoorknobHead
      @DoorknobHead 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you are engaging in hyperbole by saying they are not intelligent -- plus this would depend on a very narrow definition of intelligence. If intelligence is defined as never arriving at erroneous conclusions, then intelligent life does not exist on earth. These people have a great deal against them in arriving at what we would consider the correct conclusion, and I think that if we were in their same position, we may very well have fallen prey to their conclusion as well. Intelligence: The ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. Even with this definition of intelligence, I would tend to say these people presented are very intelligent, compared to some swamp-rat somewhere cloistered within a like-minded community of bible thumpers where the ONLY education considered worthy, is an education in what a religious leader says that a religious text says. Even though I disagree with your assessment, I do find it very interesting that all over the world, people of all levels of "intelligence" come to god and supernatural beliefs as they fall victim to human biases and the errant employment of critical thinking skills -- this is what really interests me. People that come to diametrically opposing conclusions, especially in the internet age with so much content to be skeptical about. I do not think any of us have any special natural immunity to coming to wrong conclusions. I consider these people presented to be of high caliber, compared to many in the United States that I have seen engage in mouth-breathing biblical nincompoopery.

      I wish you wouldn't misrepresent me so blatantly.
      *if we were in their same position, we may very well have fallen prey to their conclusion as well*
      Most atheists WERE in their same position. These people should know better.

    • @DoorknobHead
      @DoorknobHead 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      My purpose was not to misrepresent you with that statement, but to hopefully demonstrate by going down that path that intelligence might not be the issue here. It may have been Michael Shermer that I saw recently that referred to a report stating that people with more intelligence can better justify their reasons for their belief (not that they are ultimately viable reasons, though), therefore religious Apologetics; therefore groups such as Apologetics Academy! I think decently executed Apologetics may be a sign of intelligence, while "...cause the bible tells me so..." or other forms of accepting other peoples word on a subject without thinking about the subject for themselves might be a sign of less intelligence or at least a sign of a lack of a willingness to engage the mind. The amazing part, is these people that continually engage in apologetics with atheists on the speaking circuits, and have been given all the access to all the arguments and still arrive at supernatural conclusions. I think there is something else afoot here -- some genetic trait in humans that allows them to hold two separate impossible-to-exist-at-the-same-time conclusions when faced with extraordinarily better arguments. My take is that survival of early human did not require understanding the facts of reality correctly, but instead to understand things which, even though they are not true, still helped in the survival and success of that early human.
      I agree, they should know better, but once again, it is fascinating that they seem to not know better or possess some mental barrier that is so hard to impregnate. It is amazing to me how humans have this amazing failing (but in a primitive natural world, is it really a failing?). How does all that work? What verifiable facts might explain these emergent properties of the mind. Maybe it will take serious global long term scientific and academic study to find out the answers with efforts such as what the University of Miami is apparently trying to do with its new Chair for the Study of Atheism.

    In response, the Presence of the Holy Spirit is felt and has been experienced by many and of course myself included. The power of God and the presence of God exceeds the natural understanding of man because God is infinite and sadly Matt is Attempting to bring down an infinite God to his level without desiring to look to God the way God has said.Jesus Christ is the Eternal Son of God and the record and amount of Testimonies about Christ healing,appearing etc are amazing. Have I seen Jesus? Yes. Do I expect an atheist to understand? No.The atheist is not consistent in their worldview as I posted on my video but regardless of Matt's view Matt must look to Jesus Christ if he ever wants a starting point...not towards men who claim knowledge but have no explanations for the spiritual things that do happen.Healing, demon possession,etc...some people may not believe but if you research there are numerous accounts that the atheists choose to just ignore...facts that the atheists desire are called facts....facts that don't "fit" go out....at the end of it Matt is trying to be God because He wants the authority of his life etc....but you can not Experience true peace without Christ.Peace

      Hahaha you're delusional. NOTHING in science confirms a god. Literally nothing. That's why a majority of the world's scientists are athiests. And the ones that aren't don't use science to get to their theism because they can't. If God was provable by sciencethese discussions, instead of presenting scientific evidence, the theists use argument from ignorance, circular reasoning, god of the gaps,and provide no actual evidence. Matt continues to absolutely annihilate the theorist position and point all the holes and flaws in it.theists wish that science could prove God because they wouldn't continue to get their asses handed to them in debates or have to stoop to word salad bulshit to try and lure people down a rabbit hole to stop the conversation dead. You need to open a different book because your brain is polluted

      oh and atheism is nothing more than saying I am not convinced a God exists. So how is that a position that can be destroyed?it's not a positive claim unless you are taking the hard atheist position which is completely separate from the majority of atheists including the bulk of atheist organizations across the world. So even in that situation science would not destroy atheism science would give atheists a reason to accept theism which it's still has not done.Theism has not met its burden of proof and the arguments have not gotten any better. This science has not pointed towards a God. That's why the most popular arguments are fallacies.

      To believe or have a belief is to accept something as true without any evidence. You believe when you take something as truth based on trust or you simply don't have enuff knowledge on the matter, so you fill in the gaps with whatever you feel is right.
      Faith is unreasonable belief: Its when you continue to believe in something even when substantial and solid evidence has been presented against that belief.
      That's why WHERE THERES EVIDENCE, THERE IS NO NEED TO BELIEVE OR BELIEFS....YOU SIMPLY KNOW.
      To know is to accept something as true, because you were presented with solid and testable evidence.
      YOU KNOW BECAUSE YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF....
      therefore, one cannot have good reason to believe, just be trusting or have lack of knowledge of 'X'

      you can't believe in 'X' and know that 'X' is true or false at the same time.
      Me for example: I used to believe in Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, etc...
      currently I know they don't exist. When I was a child I tried to gather evidence that supported my belief. Turns out, all I found was evidence against my belief.
      people used to believe the earth was flat and the center of the universe. It's common
      KNOWLEDGE that that's not the case. there is solid evidence that proves it's round.
      Beliefs are only presents when there's lack of knowledge.
      I currently believe in many things, but trust me if good evidence is discovered against it I'll stop believing, or if the evidence supports my belief, then good for me I guess.
      Just my Two cents, no beef good Sir.
      And notice you said ' I don't believe you are correct. Don't refute with things your not sure of. do it with thing you know are true (evidence).

    In the first five minutes he speaks about his experience growing up in the church, misapprehends what the Bible has to say and never has any real understanding of the freedom that was his to claim. One really must wonder what was at work in his mind and heart through this time.
    At 14:43, barely 15 minutes into his talk, Dillahunty says that he has "no evidence" that any god exists.
    It's at this point that one must consider whether any rational person should pay any further attention. Does he really mean to say that of the thousands of experts in the fields of physics, biology, astronomy, Biblical studies, hermeneutics, archeology, linguistics, history, ancient culture and language, etc. etc., etc. that Matt Dillahunty, who claims to have studied religion for over a decade, cannot find one single fact that might bear some weight? Absolutely zero evidence? Is there any credible person alive who can honestly say that? This represents more than just a closed mind; something else is at work here.
    For me, this says all I need to know. There's really no point in listening further...
