Poros Island - So easy to reach from Athens!

Poros is a charming Greek island located in Greece' Saronic Gulf.
The islands of the Saronic Gulf are quite close to Athens, which makes them a great option to visit for short getaways from the capital.
Poros is well connected from the port of Athens and can generally be reached in approximately 1.5 hours with Hellenic Seaways.
The island maintains a traditional look and feel and is characterised by whitewashed houses with terracotta roofs.
We stayed at the Dimitra Boutique Hotel, located just a short walk from the island's port and spent 3 days resting and recharging on this beautiful island.

Hi there. The island has two tourist websites. The other one is
visitporos.com
At this stage, I can't see that the water taxi schedule has been published from Poros town to other beaches on the island. You will be able to find transport to beaches at the port, and it's a small place so can be organised with short notice.

Hi guys, I can see you visited both Napoflio & Poros, I am thinking of doing a week's trip next year with Athens for 3 nights, do you think I should combine it with 4 nights in Napoflio or paros in your opinion after visiting both and how easy they are to access? Mixture of culture and beach/cute towns and we will be going as a family of adults for a big birthday 😊 from UK so not too long of a flight x

We haven't been to Paros yet but it's a good 5 hours by ferry from Athens. Nafplio and Poros are relatively close to Athens and are good options when time is limited and are equally lovely. The islands of Hydra, Spetses and Aegina are just as close to Athens also and are worth a google! I particularly love Hydra (no cars) on the island!

Hola! Yes you could probably get away with one night. Ideally one full day/ night would be ok. It's a small, pretty island with everything concentrated around the town centre. Enjoy your time on Poros if you decide to go and enjoy Greece!
