I would take the ferry to Poros for day trips when I wanted to get out of Athens. It's a lovely, quiet island. Very underrated.
I think the locals are glad it’s quiet.
I was on Poros for 3 days in May 23. Stayed at 7 brothers hotel which was the best/nicest hotel of all my 12 Greek hotels with a view from my balcony of the water. Did some of my best Greek sketches there, boats and doorways . Food was very good but the waiter at the restaurant my first meal tried to overcharge me but I got that sorted and told him I wasn’t impressed. Did a lot of walking along the waterfront onto the next part of Poros. Great island, I really liked it
Every time I visit a. Island I always want a room on the port. I, like you, love watching the sailboats, yachts, and ferries coming and going. Also, watching the people!
It’s my new plan to stay as close as possible.

It is nice to rent a pushbike there. Had a lovely day pedalling to russian bay.
I saw lots of people on bikes.

There is Poros and there is Paros (way more popular but further away from Athens) 🙃

I’m here in Amorgos now. Love it. The landscape is amazing. My other fave on this trip is Sifnos. I’ll be back to both next year again for sure. Water looks amazing on Poros!

Amorgos is "the big blue" movie island but Poros is really nice too.

Thanks Tiffany for giving me a fix of Poros. We love the island and have had many happy holidays there. We have stayed for as long as two weeks at at time and hired a Quad bike to get around which was so much fun and enabled us to see so much more of this beautiful place which so many over look. Which hotel did you stay , as it didn't seem very noisy. There are some lovely ice cream shops along side too. Thank you for sharing.
A bike is definitely a good idea on Poros. I was in Hotel Saron. It wasn’t noisy at all.
@@agirlandherpassport Thank you for getting back to me. I know exactly where this hotel is, we used to have drinks of an evening there and the used unusual bottles for serving water. A brilliant spot for people watching.

It does. To limanaki tis agapis (little love bay) is one of the prettiest. However at summer months I'd suspect it would be packed. There are many others though.
