I agree, I wasn’t sure what to expect looks wise but was really impressed right from the moment I hit the track. I hope this gives this title a much needed boost in players especially online as the net code is brilliant in RaceRoom.
I found raceroom the only sim to be fun with a G29. Since I bought Fanatec I got lost in ACC and raceroom got not enough love. But this update and the DTM 95 pack has reeled me back in :)
I am really impressed by the update. They changed a lot of subtle things and it looks great, and it runs better than ever. And you have to keep in mind that most of these graphical chances were done by only one person. Really awesome. Driving wise r3e has been the best since the latest physics update.
I can’t believe how carried away I got by the glass reflections but its just one example of how much progress has been made in a short period of time and as you say more or less by one developer ! Can’t wait to see what future updates bring as they push this engine even further forward.
Great video mate, was waiting to see you enjoying these tin tops!😂Love it! Such a great update, and now the adaptive AI seems much better than my last experience after the tyre update I can’t wait to get back into this sim👍 that ABS rattles my haptic brake pedal like crazy though!😂
@@Sweatydave1 thanks mate and the AI are much improved and back to their feisty ways and can prove very challenging. I just can’t stop having just one more race which is a sign that they have got it bang on with these new tin tops.
Tbh it feels like a new game visually. For me its the best upgrade this year. Instant purchase for me, ive always supported them. Proves that you dont need a mega gpu providing the software is optimised. People moan about the price, if you get it on sale its usually around 60 quid for everything, that's 100 plus cars and over 50 tracks. Its a no brainer
And i thought i had got away with not missing something out in this video 😂, you are right and it must of been why i didn't like racing that 92 DTM Audi as i wasn't driving as a 4WD !! 🤣🤣
Its a great that they let you experience the title before diving in head first and taking a chance that its going to be a sim you like, but once you get hooked they soon get there money back as there is such a huge range of cars and tracks to pick up and race !
Thanks mate appreciate that and there was a good turn out the other evening after the release of the new cars but not had a chance to check again, but my fear was that after the initial excitement things may go quite again online.
RaceRoom only has a small section of cars included in the free base content, so apart from using the test drive option you will need to buy extra cars and tracks via their store as DLC to race them. I have to say after years of racing RaceRoom i think the graphical update is a big change to how this title looks and performs. It might be worth going back through your graphics settings and make sure you are using the new features added in this new build.
game is fun, but is way behind in terms of Graphics, weather, light system.Need to invest in programmers and a new Engine NOW if they want to remain relevant
I thought this new graphics update had really helped bring RaceRoom closer to a lot of other titles and this is just the beginning of what they have install for this engine. For me i like to race the AI on a nice sunny day the engine they currently use is fine for me. I think a new game engine will only come if they build a whole new title similar to what Kunos are doing with the new AC title.
Its DX9 so i wouldnt expect too much more from this particular engine (Despite the fact there are DX9 racing games with weather etc) they're currently working on a new engine which will incorporate all of that, so its not in its final form at this time. The reason this has taken so long is something to do with ownership of the development of the sim between Raceroom and KW, i cant remember the ins and outs exactly but they have confirmed this in an interview from a few months back. A lot of the tracks will be re-scanned (Such as Oschersleben which is coming soon) and newer cars added such as the upcoming Hurracan Evo II (I believe) ... The most important thing for this sim right now is not graphics (As good as the improvement is) but its getting that ranked online bustling and thriving again with an updated ranking system, boards etc that been said though, this sim is utilized tons for leagues, probably more so than actual pub lobbies at the moment id imagine.
@karlsmith8113 great bit if background mate and it’s really appreciated as it helps understand where this title is and going. As for online I keep hoping they find away to break through and grab the attention of more sim racers. I really thought the ranked servers and events was going to do it but after initially taking off it tailed off pretty quick. I always have and always will be a supporter of this title with its massive range of tin tops and, when you find a busy server, great online action as the net code is so robust. Fingers crossed and let’s see what 2025 brings us.
RaceRoom, the sound is absolutely the best in sim racing.
That’s another side of this title I have always enjoyed as well, especially when you wear headphones and crank up the volume.
I run it in Stereo using Mackie HR-8 Studio Monitors I agree, it's the best sound I have heard in any sim
@@DragonFlySlayer-wf6ne nice setup mate, know wonder it sounds so good 👍
Dirt rally 2.0 is just as good in my book, not to forget ACC. But yeah Raceroom nails it 😎
@@laurasfar18 These are all great titles mate and that reminds me its been to long since i last fired up ACC and checked out those GT4 cars !
This has been a game changer for Raceroom, its always been the nicest feeling sim on my wheel (G29) and now it looks fantastic too!

Hopefully AMS2’s essentially 2.0 update is decent too. It will be like gaining two new sims in my library in one month.
@@jamesleegte now that would be something special to get two big updates across two of my favourite sim racing titles. Fingers crossed mate.

Great review Jason
You forgot the DTM 1992 Audi it is also a AWD 😉😉😉

Had it not been for the free stuff Id likely not have ever tried this. Within an hour of trying the free version I had bought the USA track pack, lol.

I'm getting 350 fps using the vulcan engine.
Wow that gives you plenty of headroom to have all the eye candy cranked up to 11 !
@@SimRacingJason 12 even mate. It's running "ultimate" on the bollocks

Great vid mate, just got the cars to play with before I buy any new tracks but there doesn't seem to be much online racing to be had. Shame.

Everytime I try to play RR...it tells me I don't own this car or that car....BTW, is it me, or I don't see the BIG graphic improvement?

This will kill forza motorsport built from the ground up hockenhiem classic should be in all sims 😊😊😊.
Never raced Forza so can't comment on that but you are right about the classic version of Hockenhiem needs to be more widely available .
