Would you review some builder in a bottle gels? I'm just super curious what an actual pro thinks of a few of those since they seem to be the new product every brand is coming out with (just like acrygel a few months ago). I kinda like the idea of BIAB for overlays...
Another informative video👍 Great job as always! Few questions...when finish filing, were you using the 180 side or 240 side of the file (or maybe I wasn’t seeing it correctly). And was the sanding band a fine or medium grit? Last question: when curing one nail at a time, was it just a flash cure or full cure, and if it was a full cure, when you get to the last nail, would the other nails that were cured on the hand be overcured (hope that makes sense).
Have you stopped TH-caming? I can only find 2 years ago and your voice is pleasant. I decided to do CND SHELLAC as I am not doing much housework now. I mean, you many times can you do washing?
Absolutely fabulous!! Thank you so VERY very much! Just LOVE watching your videos! Extremely informative! Kindest regards and best wishes Rita G xxxxxxx
I truly want to learn from you. I need to get exactly all these products you use but I am a little confused. So the base coat in your overlay video was not the same as the one you used here because the previous one wasn't good for the client? I wonder why they didn't like it? I can only invest in like ONE base coat and ONE overlay gel, which one do you recommend? I am not sure what soak off means VS hard gel? Does it mean that Soak Off you can eventually take off with acetone vs Hard gel can be only taken off by sanding? I love your videos! Thank you!
Are you still doing the same prep work before applying base coat? Push back cuticles etc.. then apply primer? And how are you keeping the free edge from lifting? It doesn’t look like you are capping?
Great video thank you. I have a question: what is rubber base and top coat, what is the difference from a regular base and top coat? And is it true that you don't have to buff the nail when you use rubber base coat? Thank you in advance.
@@TheNailHub Thank you very much. I am a DIYer from Greece and in my country ther is not much information about products or the don't exist at all and i hapve many questions . Your video are amazing thank you for giving us freely so many informations.
Why did you choose P+ (soft gel) under the hard gel? Is that a stable enough base for the hard gel? I have always been taught not to put something soft under something hard. You teach me so much! Thank you!!!
Raina Reyes it’s really a soak off product, that way it can be removed and it doesn’t damage the nail. It works very well and a great idea to keep the nails healthy!!
It works really well. I’ve never had any issues using a soak off base under a hard gel. Just depends on the difference in flexibility. Check out my previous videos.
I was having SERIOUS lifting issues that actually caused me to stop wearing nails for several months to allow the damage to grow out. Since I've started using a soak off base under hard gel (I'm using gelish soak off gel under their polygel though for some reason I do still have to remove the inhibition layer and file down the shine on the soak off) I have had minimal lifting, despite being extremely rough on my nails, and now fill my nails because of growth rather than lifting
Hi Liz!! I hope I understand the back fill.. To back fill is just using the base coat concentrating on the cuticle? No other product need to be applied? Thank you Karen
Do you need to know if someone has an overlay underneath? If it’s a new client and they don’t know the difference and you try to soak it off...how do you adjust what you do after that? Also, will you also make videos about how to run your business, whether it’s a salon or traveling manicurist? Thanks!
Veronica Matias since it's a new client don't spend excess time soaking off a product that may not budge! Efile or handfile it down to a thin layer and prep the nail over any remaining product and do a new overlay! Make sure all lifting is eliminated before new prep and application! GOD bless!
Make sure you use a grit from 180 to no more than 240! Anything over 240 would take too long and be counter productive! I would stick with a good 180!😎🤗🤩😘😀
Lela Robinson thank you! Honestly, I’m not a manicurist but I was just genuinely curious lol. I love learning about this but I don’t plan to become a nail tech 🤣
thank you so much for these very detailed, very educational videos! I noticed that after finish filing and before the final top coat you dusted. I'm wondering whether there are products for which you would use your gel cleanser between finish filing and the final top coat? I'm primarily working with OPI products. Edited to add I am not referring to glitter polish.
I am sorry for all the questions but I did my nails yesterday with Kokoist base gel and builder for the first time and LOVE IT!! Watching this video you said the thumbs are used a lot and of course I went to my salon and saw my right thumb was chipped at the free edge. What did I do wrong?
If you use a colored overlay/builder gel & it doesn't appear to have any problems so you just backfill it, is it possible that the nail could get infected underneath but it would go unnoticed initially?
can this technique be used for the akzentz line? 1. Akzentz Luxio Soak Off Gel Base then 2. Akzentz Pro Performance (Enhance) Hard Gel then 3. Luxio Gel Polish then 4. Akzentz Shine-On (No Clease) top coat? Thanks!!!
What was the grit on the band you were using? Also, if you have to buff or finish file over the first top coat on one nail, do you do them all? You know, to keep all thing equal, or just smooth out the one that needs it?
This is beautiful by itself but I'm extra extra and this would have been lovely with simple chunky glitters scattered at the tip in gold or purple or pink or light blue! #OR

When curing one nail at a time what is the lenth of time in seconds, and as you complete each subsequent nail are all the previous nails recured each time or just one finger at a time being cured?
Ginny Rush whole hand each time. Might mean the pinkie and ring get slightly over cured but there is no real consequence to this. Especially on non-dominant fingers.

Using the overlay method, how often do you suggest soaking the overlay off and applying a fresh set. Once every several weeks, months, after a certain number of fills?
Usually you never need to because if you keep the length relatively the same over a 6-8 week period you are constantly filing off old product and replacing with new. Theres really never a need to remove everything unless theres a major problem.
