In the comments tell me what your favorite drive I showed today was, if you want to see a Barber episode, and what you think about Arcade Fire's the Suburbs!

A Barber episode would be great! Every pedal of his I've owned is outstanding! I don't really like compressors but I was so impressed with his pedals I emailed him about trying his Tone Press. I told him I wasn't a fan of the Dynacomp. He wrote back that his compressor is based on the DC and I probably would not like it either. He could have just sent me an invoice and taken my money but instead he talked me out of buying one of his pedals because he thought I wouldn't like it. That blew my mind. Much respect to David Barber who not only makes some of the best pedals out there but is also a stand up guy.

I agree with this 100%. I have every version of the Direct Drive, a couple of the different versions of compression (oldest one is the best), the BUSS, a Gain Changer, a Small Fry, you get it. The cleanest and most natural sounding stuff across the board. For boutique, it's very reasonable and lots of flexibility in sound. Sorry, lots of coffee!

Josh's upsides to promoting other people's pedals:
    1. It encourages positivity in a world where people often like to be negative about things.
    2. It shows Josh is an actual person behind the company that really loves pedals and his craft, and it makes you want to support him.
    3. It allows the other companies to raise their prices so his higher prices become more competitive without having to drop his prices.

Then maybe I should try out making random negative TH-cam comments on an account that doesn't even show their face.

The Cusack Screamer and Barber Gain Changer sounded KILLER! I had a GC gathering dust in my pedal closet and you prompted me to try it again. Well, it just displaced an expensive OD on my board which I can now sell off. Thanks Josh, sometimes it pays to watch your show!

I have about 7 Barber Electronics pedals, my favorite ever. Looking forward to an interview with David. I actually run into Ronnie (Santmeyer) every now and then at gigs and we communicate every so often. His work with developing this stuff is truly inspiring. The Gain Changer paired with the Direct Drive............... like heaven.

Underrated overdrive to me is the Marshall Jackhammer. I never liked it in “distortion” mode but in overdrive mode with a Fender amp, it just did a great 70’s era Marshall JMP sound.

Please, please, please Josh...... do a video on Barber. They are awesome pedals , and they so deserve some highlight!! I really treassure these theme videos. I watch all of them - I appreciate that you just just generally show all kinds of brands, and not just your own. In fact I think your own stuff deserves more air time. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and vast selection of pedal goodness. Greetings from Daneland ;-)

Thank you Josh for sharing your knowledge, humor, and support for the whole community of builders and musicians. New Fan! JHS is now also clearly on my radar. Two other players in town and myself play the **C-mat Mods Signa Drive**. (We're up in Victoria, B.C. Canada. I ordered mine direct from the states). Not sure how popular it is nationally, I would think it's his best circuit. I had a 'Brownie' that I sold, although another prominent player in town plays one. It actually replaced my Timmy. If you can imagine a Tim or other clean boost, creeping in to King of Tone territory (another one I was on a waiting list for, loved for a few months and sold... gee... my J Rocket Archer went that way too...). The harmonics do pop out as described on this one - it shines. You can keep a big bottom or get into high passed tube screamer territory. I like it for a gritty clean with more character, or popping my Egnater amp over the edge a bit. My holy grail is the FullTone PlimSoul - it won out over an OCD. However, just bought an OCG Ge and love it - gets into that Signa Drive territory. ;-) I also recently acquired a Rothwell Switchblade. It is simply a fantastic distortion that can be dialed down to OD territory. A LOT of charachter to that one.

Definitely do a Dave Barber episode... I’ve been using his pedals for over a decade and they never leave my board. He is the only builder that I own several of his ODs... different years, different versions of his Gain Changer (LTD circuit) and Direct Drive - all incredible different flavors. I have 3 gigging boards right now. There is a Barber OD on all of them. He also makes a fantastic compressor and he made the best clean boost I’ve ever used if you can find one (out of my cold, dead hands...lol), the Launch Pad...

great look, as usual. the clarity of your demos in these episodes is helpful (sounds like a pedal through an amp in a room! no backing tracks!).
not the point, i realize, but here goes: top mounted jacks on standard size pedals where the power jack is between them is a nightmare.

Was thrilled to see my beloved Riverside in the list. Apart from the overdrive, the key selling point on this one for me was the inclusion of switchable boost. This removed the need for a separate boost pedal for me. It is a little strange having firmware on your overdrive pedal, but this isn't your typical overdrive.
