Stay strong in your no buy, I'm in the boat with you. Marketers are good at creating that sense of urgent need, but if I put something on a Pinterest wishlist and close it, when I come back days or weeks later I feel nothing but relief that I didn't waste all that money that I would have felt so guilty over. And I love your second hand first attitude! Definitely the way we need to go in the future.
I’m also not enthusiastic about the current Sézane collection. You were talking about people being in various stages of their lives. I am in the downsizing and selling most of my wardrobe. Vinted has been excellent for selling my Sézane pieces and many still had the tags on 🫣 I did keep one Betty cardigan in the garnet. Like you, I’m a winter and this colour looks wonderful on us. I would be interested in a video about less known jewelry brands.
I also don't intend to order anything from the Sezane Positano collection. It's not the fault of the collection...I think it's beautiful but I'm more of an autumn and winter girl, and struggle with summer styling in general. So no floaty, patterned frocks for me 😂
The Anthropologie jeans are actually my main jeans, I have them in light wash, dark wash, and black, and those are my only jeans. I love them, they have such a good shape, and cute pockets on the front, which I feel is actually so flattering.
Ahh this makes me really want to try them, thank you!
Have to agree with Sézane. I have purchased quite a bit from them recently but its all their classics like the Betty cardigan or elavated basics, which are items i have just been putting off. Maybe its because Im not really into patterns so much
I like Rouje but a lot of their items has polyester at that higher price point. Rosae Paris has a good collection.
By the way I love the Betty cardigan in that colour on you, it is fabulous ❤
Yes, I was equally relieved that I didn't like anything from the Positano collection. It might be a cultural thing - as a North American I'm finding Sezane just to be too delicate and too impractical for my summer lifestyle. Here on the west coast summer is even more casual than the rest of the year - and "events" are generally things like barbecues, beach days and/or camping where you'd only ever wear shorts & a T. As for work - the AC is just too damn cold for sleeveless floaty pieces. I need pieces that won't be stylistically crushed by being covered with a cardi/shawl/blanket. I've had more luck with some of Boden's cotton long-sleeved shirt dresses this season.
yeahhhh, agree. I don't know about you, but I already get enough side-eye as it is for turning up with a belt on my jeans, and coordinating shoes. If I showed up for coffee or whatever in one of those Positano dresses my friends would be grilling me on what wedding I was going to afterwards lol.
@@shawnnap59 😂😂
@@shawnnap59it’s actually so sad how looking “put together” is often frowned upon 😢
1000% agree with everything you said as someone from the Pacific Northwest! Truly can’t emphasize just how damn casual the culture is; anything more formal than jeans is “dressed up.”
Dying from the thought of showing up to a BBQ wearing the Positano collection 😂
@@McKayMusick lol, I blame Lululemon for everything. I mean even jeans are "fancy," if they are dark wash - extra posh points if your outfit colours match. 🤣😂
I own a bag from Chylak. Good quality 😊 And the yellow one is very pretty, too.
Thank you! That’s good to know 🥰
You don't need any of it. You've already curated a full and beautiful wardrobe. Enjoy what you have, rather than being like the distracted boyfriend meme guy, ignoring the Celine handbag he's holding and checking out a 2024 flash-in- the-pan butter yellow bag that he'll only sell on vinted in a few months.
Done. You're welcome. 😄
Haha so true!
I have the Colette Maeve pants from Anthropologie and I love them! They fit TTS but they are forgiving since they have a little stretch. With the stretch I think this style will work on curvier silhouettes. The top button on the regular denim color is very similar in size and coloring to the Betty buttons (at least on the Garnet Betty) , so I find the combo together looks particularly good.
Ooh this is super helpful thank you! I am very keen to try them now 🥰
Great video! Playing with texture in summer wardrobe is something I really resonated with! (That and wanting to feel cozy still in summer.) Thanks for making this video!
I’m glad I’m not the only one!
Great video!! You seem more like a cool summer to me than a winter in terms of seasons.
I'm really enjoying your content lately. 😊
That makes me so happy to hear! Thank you 🥰
I loved the vlog ❤ and I love the no buy subject because social media can influence us to buy a lot of things that we don’t need.
Totally agree 🤍
I agree, Sézane wasn't inspiring this season! I may get a Pippa dress for a basic dress for travel. I have the Collette trousers and they are very comfortable and a staple in my wardrobe, I'm 157 cm and wear the petite size because the length is perfect for me, the fabric stretches so size down.
I have the red vicky loafers, got them for 120 brand new on eBay! They go so nicely with blue denim. Would highly recommend. Love all your videos, keep them coming! Love, Isabelle xx
Ugh so jealous! They are so good. Great you found them on eBay too!
Hi Katie, I love that you know your style well and you execute it amazing too
Totally agree with you about French girl aesthetic not really suiting people with a large hip to waist difference. Trying Sezane pants on brings me back to the middle and highschool nightmare of trying to find jeans when the fashion aesthetic was Paris Hilton, straight from top to bottom.
I'm feeling quite lost when it comes summer shopping 😅 One of the annoying things with summer clothes for me is that they often come sleeveless or very loose, and these are very uncomfortable to wear for me. Or with bare back or other cuts that show a lot of skin, which I don't like for me either. I'm just tempted to buy a pretty summer bag and let it do the outfit work 😅
Agree, summer is the season I've least invested in. Where I"m from, it lasts about 8 weeks for one thing and most people spend the season in shorts, Ts and Tevas/flip flops. The summer dresses/floaty tops & skirts that I see in the shops - I don't know who buys them or where they even wear them lol. Perhaps that explains why the racks are jammed at end of summer sales.....
❤️❤️❤️Stay strong with your no buy
Thank you!
The Collette is my favorite pant. I have the style in different fabrics and colors. They’re all very flattering and comfortable. Just for reference, I’m 5’4”, US size 12, hourglass shape.
that is so helpful thank you!
I love Rouje so much but ironically this collection was not my favorite! Over the past few years, I've built a collection of their cotton tops like Ilonka and Yuna when they come in a print I like. I find these tops incredibly wearable. They're simple, cotton and sleek yet feminine. Wearing them makes me feel put together and beautiful yet not overdone! Currently at the top of my wishlist is Lexie - the CUTEST lilac tube top with a row of embroidered flowers at the top. and it's cotton!
Personally my Sezane pieces mostly sit in my closet. For me, they're just a little too dressy, ruffly and boxy. I do lead a very chill and mellow life, so don't need to get dressed often. If I worked in an office, Sezane would probably be my go-to!
This summer I also bought a few pieces from Reformation, and absolutely adore them! I've been looking for ways to dress well at home - comfy but not athleisure, and have been sleeping on Ref! They have great relaxed fitting pants and, like Rouje, cute, casual tops. Ref does unfortunately use a lot of polyesther, but if I really like the style of the top I try to look past it.
I had the same reaction to the upcoming release at Sezane, which is a relief because have bought way too many items over the last month. I did find a beautiful white top similar to Sezane style at Rixos which I might have to try. But I really need to go no buy for a few months to recover
Yes, I bought the Colette cropped, def go down a size as they relax alot. Unfortunately on me, they were not cropped and actually touched the floor (am 5’3ish) so just looked awkward. I actually found the best wide leg from River Island - has front pockets and the petite length are perfect length - as indrags on the floor. Can definitely recommend them
If you’re eyeing yellow bags, the Coach Cassie 19 comes in a yellow right now! 🌞
Thank you!
I highly recommend anything from the Anthropologie "Colette" line! I have one denim pair and one pair of trousers. Both have a nice bit of stretch and are incredibly comfortable and flattering! My denim pair is cropped. However, I wanted a full length for the trousers, so I purchased my regular size in the tall inseam. I'm 5'5, and they are perfect!
As for sizing, I think they run pretty true to size.
Thank you so much that’s great to hear!
I have a pair of the collette trousers in linen/viscose from last season. I love the fit, though wasn't impressed with the quality of the fabric. I forget what size I took, I'll check later and update, but I'm pretty sure it's true to size.
Edited to add: i have the US 8 /UK 12, fits TTS my waist measurement is 29inches, hips 39 theres no gapping in the waist, would recommend!
Are Sezane shoes narrow or would you recommend them for wide feet? Thanks
Wow that pink Aje dress you showed a clip of is stunning! Do you recall the name of that dress? Did you keep it?
nkuwan You are so well-informed about luxury accessories and bags. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
That denim boden vest is new season. Still available online in all sizes ❤
Thank you!
Was reading on Reddit that there have been reports of Fleuron bags having some of the same "wear on the corner of the bag" issues quickly after purchase that the Polene bags have.
Interesting, thank you!
Hi Katie, wondering what shade of winter are you? I'm a true winter, and normally silver jewellery suits winter palette much better. I see that you tend to wear gold more often, wondering what do you think about this?
I don’t let my colouring dictate what I wear! I love gold so I wear it 😊 I also think jewellery is so small that I honestly don’t believe it suits/doesn’t suit people. I understand a fully gold/silver dress, but a tiny pair of earrings? They’re not going to wash you out 😊
I checked the website and that Rosilda dress (poppies, made of cotton) says to "shrink during washing but return to its shape through ironing". Sounds like an absolute nightmare to take care of. 😅 And reminds me why I stay away from the Sézane viscose (same issue and it never looks the same again...). Rouje looks nice at first but I find their materials lacking, the cuts are ultra simple, they mostly use sub-par materials and nothing is ever lined properly. 😅 It really pays to look twice at their stuff.
Hi,I really like the lipstick color on you in this video. Any links?
Thank you! It’s this one - go.shopmy.us/p-4962965
What puts me off reformation is the number of items that require dry cleaning.
I never dry clean… just hand wash 😅 usually works fine
Re: Rouge Rosilda dress- here’s my de-influencing 2 cents :)
The red flowers are too big of a pattern and they could look out of balance on your frame. It’s a personal preference though, and you might absolutely love that look on you. I just find big flowers patterns actually make the body look bigger and a the proportions odd.
I own the sezane flats in the ecru color, the color is much more yellow than beige and so uncomfortable! I really regret purchasing them
Ooh thank you that’s helpful! Maybe I won’t then.
Since weeks now I am not ordering from Sezane. The complete Italian crap, who can wear this where? Good for my credit card so...
Katie I’m really enjoying your videos during this no buy! I’d personally be interested in your jewellery picks, most worn outfits, styling videos…new items or not😊🩵
Thanks!
To be frank, I have been really disappointed with the latest Sezane S/S collection. They are repeating themself, Chloe shirt became Chlo shirt, the design has no change; adding more colours to their knitwear collection, barry , betty or gaspard. Also this brand is overpricing with the quality provided. I purchased a Bree jumper in ecru, it stinks even after a few watches, just can't get rid of the unpleasant smell. Another jumper costing £100 has a hole after one hand watching( I only wear it 5 times). The design is for tall, slim body shape. I have shopped with Sezane more than 7 years, but I am loosing my interests on this brand.
I've never liked the quality of the clothes of the brand. & i'deed overpriced regarding the quality. The leather goods though are really great, imo they should stick to that
