Not loving Sezane lately
yessss, I definitely haven't "loved everything, want it all" in a long time. I'm really not liking all the poly and viscose, and natural fibres that have been blended with polyamide for no good reason (a good cotton jumper doesn't need polyamide for any reason - it's not a sock after all). That said, I've still found pieces here and there that I've really liked and where the quality was still what I expect for the price. Just taking a lot more effort to find those pieces compared to even a year and a half ago.
@@sparklie962 Same here, guess our bank accounts feel relieved lol
Agree!
@@sparklie962 why viscose has bad reputation?
I was smiling while you were saying how lovely the pieces looked on the *models* Katie Louise - I kept saying the same thing myself! Almost nothing in this collection works for my colouring, height (aka, short) and lifestyle. I live someplace that's ferociously casual and there's not a lot of events to go to anyway, lol. So, the Editions collection was never really going to work for me (other than the Sophie skirts) - if I can't ever wear it to work I can't really justify it. I do also wish they'd waited at least another month to launch this collection. I spent out my Spring budget on a few pieces from the Italian collection so it's a good thing I'm not tempted by anything today. Not sure we need new collections every few weeks.
These are really "my" colors, I often have trouble finding those. I don't care for any of these pieces though 😅
Meh the whole thing is a miss for me. The beige is ok, if done well. But overall not a fan of the chosen colors or shapes. The purple is nice, but I don’t like any of the silhouettes they chose to use it for personally. I could have been tempted by the Sophie skirt set…if I liked any of the colors (why not that gorgeous purple?)
Yeah Sophie in purple would be a dream!
totally agree, Katie! Why so much beige 😭 I always look ill in this colour. Love the video 💕 - great lighting :)
haha me too ...
I think some of these pieces are stunning and SO unique, but I have nowhere to go with them lol 😅 I got last year the Claire blouse and Sophie skirt and haven’t worn yet. I’m definitely not getting another one although I think it’s gorgeous and my favorite outfit from this collection. A little disappointed with the materials, so much poly and viscose, wish they used more linen and silk!
Stunning indeed! I got the same set in the floral print, hoping that I could wear them with more casual pieces too 🤣 or maybe to have a special occasion in the future. Maybe thinking about my work parties, as I always feel underdressed for these events. 🤣 overall, I also thought most materials would be way better.
I have just found your channel and really like your videos. I came across Sézane just two weeks ago and instantly fell in love and I'm so sad that I haven't found it earlier. Your videos are so helpful, as I'm trying to figure out the sizing. Based on their chart I am a 42, but so far everything was too big and as you mentioned with the blouses, its so true, I got a 40 which is fine and a looser fir, but I could have gone with a 38 too. I feel that they have a lot of warm tone collections at the moment, which I love, as I am a warm autumm and so often I have a problem to find things in my colour palette, but yes, even for a warm skin tone the beige is not so easy 🙂 Looking forward too seeing more Sézane videos, thank you ❤
I think the collection is utterly stunning… on the models. If you live a more “ordinary” lifestyle, you might not have occasion to wear many of these pieces. I’m a Soft Summer/Autumn, heavy on the Summer, and I don’t think I’d look good in most of these pieces. This is not the first time Sezane has created a collection loaded with graphic appeal rather than personal appeal.
With you on the accessories I’ve started giving a different vibe to my existing wardrobe with earrings, shoes scarves bags etc. better quality accessories as you say
100%!
I thought the renata dress would be polyester too, but when I saw it was silk I decided to order it, at least to try it. I also ordered the gold suit because I am a true spring and gold really suits me, they had posted a video where you could see the jacket sparkling in the light and I’m like OH! Even just to pair with jeans to go out to dinner, I think that is more versatile than some people would expect. They also came out with a “mirror gold” version of the flat Adeline sandals so I’m trying those, and one of those Kelia blouses in “floral rouge” came back so I snagged it really quick. I considered the Clara basket, and I managed to get it in my cart a few times but I decided not to buy it because it doesn’t seem like a durable material, and it says not to wear it in the rain, so if someone spilled on it, it would probably be ruined. I am not really a fan of the raffia trend tbh. It looks cute but it makes me nervous that those items are going to look horrible in only a couple of months of use. Raffia shoes have shown up at department stores near me, and I can just imagine how stained those would get.
I have a question -- does Sezane do "promo or discount" codes from influencers? If yes, can you share please?
No they don’t x
Thanks for walking us thru the collection. Glad to see there are no clothing ‘must haves’ for me. My budget thanks you! 😂. BUT I did order the Margot earrings as they look great! and know I will wear them a lot for the upcoming Spring/Summer. 🎉
You are so welcome! They are so pretty, I love them!
I am on the lookout for the review of Editions Part 2(!).. Came out way too 💨 fast, and we are not even into the summer collection yet:) From Editions Part 1 I have ordered Sophie skirt in two colors and Claire blouse, both unfortunately ( or luckily to my budget;) run small and didn’t work on me. Sophie with flowers pattern has almost transparent fabric.. ecru option seems to be a better quality.
I can't justify the price for their "leanen" pieces with 0% linen, 100% viscose.
I know that viscose wrinkles less, but it is also cheaper than linen. The best such pants I have are from Mango from 2017 for €30, 50/50 linen/viscose. I still wear them. They don't crease at all.
I also thought it was linen and cotton…😢
Totally agree, I am Ok paying high price tag for wool, silk, cotton, but 200+ sounds not fair for viscose or polyester…even if design looks nice to me I am skipping those items due to the price/material.
@@yuliyadomm9303 yes, for polyester I’d go with cheaper stores like Boutique Libertie, that have very cute things for a much cheaper price and they’re still suitable for occasions. Such a pity
@@yuliyadomm9303 Totally agree ! I'm so disappointed with the material. In my opinion, Sezane is giving more and more "fast fashion" vibes lately 😕.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'leanen' - this was filmed before I knew the materials and I'm also surprised most of it is viscose and not linen, it's a shame
Hi Katie! I actually like that beige, it’s the one that suits my undertone the most. I think anyone with a warm, golden, or olive and dark skin tones will love it and usually this beige is so hard to find… but ofc I felt more like having prints from this collection, so I got the Claire and Sophie set in the Paradise print. Still on the fence about getting the Clara bag.
yes it's an amazing collection for warm tones!! Jealous haha
I’m agree that the colors in this collection won’t suit everyone (including myself). I would be curious to know what your “color season” is!
I think her colour season is Summer
@@donatellasalatino6924 thanks :)
I think mine is winter!
@@katie_louise Mine too!
The Chiara dress looks like a towel wrapped around the model to me
😂😂
I was thinking the same thing! Those towels with elastic around the top that secure with velcro 😂
@@chlomo2618 Exactly!
I ordered the terracotta Sophie skirt last year and I was drowning in the fabric. Waaay too much skirt for someone with 165cm.
Oooh, good to know, thanks! The Sophie was the only thing I was remotely considering but I'm only *162cm* so glad to hear that it's very unlikely to work for me! You've saved me from disappointment and wasted time. Cheers!
thanks that's helpful (if disappointing!)
The earrings are beautiful. Are the earrings heavy on the ears ?
No they are light! Sézane actually list the weight of their earrings on the website. These are 13grams 😊
Absolutely none of this did anything for me... I was strongly considering the croc embossed mini Milo, until I saw the chain strap. No thanks! However, that said, I love your earrings so much I went ahead and ordered a pair! They are lovely.
They are so pretty! Hope you love them 🥰
24:47 the purple is definitely warm. Actually I’d say the only cool color here is the navy. I loved it so much I got this print. I loooove it!
I really wish it was cotton or linen but not viscose
Same!
Same - now I see the fabrics I'm surprised!
Love the outfits but no colour for me ( light summer) unfortunately…
Re: the Malia skirt, it’s not at all for curvy bottoms. I’ve tried it several times because they tend to come out with very pretty patterns, but I’m disappointed by the fit every time. I will say the Sophie skirt is gorgeous though. I have it in the brick color from last year and I feel like the color is just casual enough that I could wear it as an everyday piece. I got the beige one from this year to try. Curious about the 100% viscose material- mine is a gorgeous heavy linen and I’m not sure how the viscose will be.
very helpful, thank you :)
Hi Katie 😊
I’m kinda disappointed by the whole collection, I was thinking about more airy dress , very bright/light colors (I actually love the yellow Sophie, and the purple Giovanni but not gonna buy it)
The polka dot print is stunning so sad they didn’t use it for the Stella jumpsuit or Giovanni pan or the alberello short .
A week ago I bought my first Paula baby (black) and I’m in love, I’m thinking of buying the kaki one , I returned the navy one ,
and I bought the Cloe jumper in black (I actually own pink, marine and green) my staple for summer
Do you know this brand « m moustache » I order a pair of red babies (Soline) from them because I can’t get my hands on the Paula one, it’s basically not the same color however I will give it a try
I hadn’t heard of them until the other day when I saw an influencer on Instagram work with them! They look great
Hi, just wanted to let you know, you look absolutely captivating in this video. Your eyes are so sparkly and beautiful. I love how you film your videos ❤
awh thank you :)
11:20 🙌🏻 same girl! 😂😂😂
