instead of the usual diving type of gloves, try the "knife" gloves which is meant to withstand cuts from knifes. using them all the time while diving. Small nail like objects will go through but you wont get cutmarks

This shark attack certainly earned a like and subscribe. That's actually a very annoying spot to have any kind of wound, right on the knuckle joint, and on both sides. I cut the tip of my finger with a circular saw right across the last knuckle, and it was one of the most painful things I've ever experienced due to being cut through the bone, but also the most annoying because of it being right on the joint. I got pretty efficient at using my non dominant hand until I healed.

I moved from Italy to Sydney nearly ~30 years ago and I am still not comfortable with its murky waters. In Italy I could dive ~20 m but in Sydney I don't think I've ever been more than a few meters deep. Rationally, I understand that bumping into a bull shark in low visibility is unlikely but I still don't like it. As for wobbegongs, I had to jab one on the head at Long Reef a few months ago as it was coming from my silver bream.
