Cheers Lester! It has blown up a bit for me, I had 1400 subs at the start of the year and most of my videos struggled to get 1000 views in a week. I’m happy with how it’s going so far. Just got to keep making content.
To use your own words, "world class". I've watched almost every one of your videos over the last two days and have loved every minute. Keep doin you homie
Harry Sidgwick I'd literally rather rewatch these vids over and over then suffer another spearfishing x DnB montage.. why can't everyone narrate lol. Gz on first place Dan 👏🏽
I used to spearfish in Florida when i was a young man now I'm in my 40ds and because of your videos I've got the bug to start again. Unfortunately i now live in iowa and landlocked no ocean but we can take rough fish in freshwater. Cap, drum , bowfin. So that's my plan. This summer. All thanks to you and your channel.
Congratulations on the first place !! Nice shot placements other than the one cod 😅. No drama in the weigh in like the one in Greece. Thank you for another amazing video !! Keep them coming.
What a superb video, just the right ratio of fishing and behind the scenes at the competition itself. I am a bit jealous of being able to spear cod fish in water that shallow and with that visibility.
Wow well done dan I love this video i watch this video 10 time and never get bored to watch it well done again buddy love your video mate keep at it 🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️
Can’t wait to see your next videos buddy your awesome you and jpk will make a great team buddy love everything about you the way you explain from 0 to 10 I will definitely give a fat big 10 mate well done no joke am literally obsessed with ur videos mate ❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏🔥
Gary Wilkes thanks mate! I had a few fails on the settings of my GoPro which is why the out of water stuff is all blown out white but other than that a good trip.
im also in the UK and im looking to get started as soon as possible, watching all ur vids makes me just wanna jump in even quicker lol,. a very late congrats on the win and all the best
I know this is an old video but wow was so cool to watch, and the end was hilarious seeing how happy and involved everyone was, great sportsmanship and great win. An inspiration 😁
Fantástic experience and so nice guys. Quality organización. Migrating to Malmo in a month from Mayorca. Got to buy a battery heated wet suit!! Thank you for sharing Daniel man!
My dad was fishing in greece once, and he saw what he thought mustve been a flat fish, but he told me it was the biggest fish he had ever seen. When he went back down for the kill (he was 18m he couldnt stay down too long) he chased after it and the worst happened. He ran out of breath but he was able to make it to the top. A few days later he went back down to see if there was anything else to catch, this time at 20m. He found the largest octopus he had seen in his life. The tentacles were at least a foot and a half long. He shot it with the spear gun so it couldnt get away, and when he went to grab it, the thing latched onto the rock it was on... And my dad's hand... He was able to get his knife out and he cut its eyes and and tentacles, making the octopus release him. BUT, on his way back up he encountered an eel that was a myth on that island. It was 300 years old, and it was humongus. My dad shat himself so many times that week, but this was where he truly thought he was done for. In greece, there is a saying, that wherever there is a big octopus, there is an eel. So my dad was on the look out for eels since this wasnt the first time he had seen an eel coming toward him. Well this eel was coming straight for the octopus which was hanging from my dads belt, IN FRONT OF HIS PRIVATE PARTS. My dad didnt have his spear gun ready and neither his knife and lucky for him that eel only took the octopus. My dad literally lost all his gear that day. But man is Carpanthos a strange island
What amazing clips, efforts and skills on your part.. Totally amazing Dude.. and you shared all of this, with all of us, most of whom you don't even know.. Can't thank you enough.. and pls. keep them coming.. And ofcourse: Congratulations..!! Ashraf
@@DanielMann Anytime dude.. I'm dead hungry and should've started cookjng 4 hours ago.. but I'm still hooked on watching your vidx.. God forgive you mate.. 🤣🤣🤣
absolutely amazing video yet again! love your work please keep it up! your videos draw me into another dimension and the narration makes it feel like i was actually there! also congratulations dude
Amazing vlog....concept is very interesting esp for people like me who cannot experience same as his...and never been into diff places and underwater that much! Thanks for sharing the experience!
Congratulations, great hunting. I found your channel watching Youngblood's and enjoyed it but never thought I would be able to do the sport since I live in Ma. and NY in the USA but after watching this video and the one you posted from Norway I now know its possible, thanks. Any advice on books or instructional videos of getting into this sport. I have done a lot of snorkeling but never spear fished or have never dived very deep, seems to hurt my ears. thanks and take care
Hey Scott, grab the book 99 tips to get better at spearfishing, link is in the description I think. Join a club and get out there. As for the ears, google freedive equalising.
You are your biggest inspiration for me. 😊 Great video! what time of year was that? Is it true that the Spearfish wetsuits are openly porous /open cell and therefore colder than normal dive semi dry suits? I want to buy a warm new one….
Jagdkrone this was in May. Spearfishing suits are warmer than traditional wetsuits. Dry suits are obviously warmer but don’t lend themselves to freediving at all.
Daniel you cracked me up @10:40 "they're just on the bottom...they're asleep"!! At 6* water temp, you're basically shooting at frozen fish sticks! Just drop down and coat them with breadcrumbs. I have some 5mm gloves for lobster in California, and those damn things feel like wearing baseball gloves or oven mitts...I can't imagine 7mm. At 6*, how can you even move your mouth? Mine would be too numb to make words come out of it...
Spearfishing has been something I have been interested in for some time now I have always wreck fished on charter boats from the east/ north east of England. Seeing this video where you hunt my favorite species cod I'm putting two & two together and thinking maybe it's time I did something about it how would one get started is there clubs that do this type of thing for beginners I suppose you must learn snorkeling first ?
artisansportsman - find a local club through dive shops and social media. They will help you learn most everything, including how to snorkel. If you want to freedive, look into training classes. There is a lot of safety related things you MUST learn. Example, watch how many TH-cam divers do not remove the snorkel from their mouth when diving...that is NOT safe (and you'll learn why). You club buddies will help you with equipment selection (we all have opinions) but the best part is we all have spare gear...every serious spearo I've ever met has a bunch of extra stuff...
Love the channel. Also trying to get into spearfishing in the UK. Use to do it all the time in Portugal. Any advice, live in Surrey as well, not sure if any spots/clubs near by?
Hey Pedro, best bet is to join the London international club of spear fishing. Lots of people located all over the UK who dive and have boats. It’s a great club and membership is only £15 I think.
the flaps on the spears could be spring opened if there was a secondary flap holding it down, as it hits a fish the secondary flap plops off the spring loaded flap/hock and as the spear goes thru it opens and will not shut to slide off, is there such spears ore is there a safety reasion that they can close and slide out of the fish even when the fiss would struggle?

Well done Dan - Til Lykke as they say in Danish. Cod (Torsk) were a little easy though - had they drugged them???
