Thanks, welcome! I would not recommend it for a beginner, his fundamentals of hypertrophy program would be a better fit. If you're a complete beginner where you've never lifted weights at all, then Barbell Medicine's beginner template would be a good one to start with.

I was consistent in the gym for 12 years, but once my first child was born...it took a backseat. While I've maintained a "presence" it's not been consistent for the past 4 years. I've also put on a good bit of fat...probably 25lbs. I'm 6ft, 225 and 22%bf.
Would this program be good for cutting? I feel like I'm suffering from information overload since trying to get back into this lifestyle and I'm feeling a bit lost.

Great content for reviewing fitness programs ! Since i'm a beginner, (less than 3 months of practical experience) but i watch a lot of bodybuilding/fitness videos, read books like (Jeff Nippard Ultimate Guide To Body Recomp) about nutrition and especially trying to find the best fitness program that suits me, because i have a lot of free time so i can work up to 5x/week therefore i'm looking to achieve a body recomposition (i'm a bit overweight), as i'm looking to work 5 times a week (not 3 or 4) so no fullbody and upper/lower splits, thus i'm wondering which program would suit me the best for a 5 day routine split ? Actually i've looked into 3 programs (2 of them are destined for beginners):
Greg Doucette (Harder Than Last Time) but it features a circuit/rotation which i dont like and i'd rather prefer straight sets, i dont know if its possible to turn it to straight sets.
Jeff Nippard: Fundamentals Hypertrophy but the 5 day routine is a bodypart split so it doesnt work all muscle groups twice per week
John Meadows (Baby Groot): It only features a 3 day fullbody routine
As such, what would you recommend, do you know any other good programs that feature a 5 day split routine for beginners such as PPL/Upper,Lower or should i just use on these intermediate programs like the one in this video from Jeff or use a 4 day routine split like Upper/Lower ? As i said, im really looking to progress as fast possible and im willing to be working 5 times per week at the gym since i have a lot of free time. What are your thoughts ? Thanks

Why are so close-minded like this? I'm aware I don't look jacked, but I do lift regularly, and have for a long time. Your perception of the fitness industry is very short-sighted. My formal education and background, as well as the countless athletes and people in the general population that I have trained, gives me the experience to review these programs and know whether they're designed well or not. I also know countless strength and conditioning coaches, including ones in the NFL and NHL, that I've discussed training and program design with countless times. Read books and work to understand the working principles of program design. Most “influencers” aren’t actually putting out practically sound programs. They’re throwing a bunch of exercises at a wall and seeing what sticks basing their recommendations off of what looks cool or flashy on Instagram. More often than not effective programming is way more simple than you want it to be. Appreciate this and you’ll be on your way to better programming

For powerlifting you could check out Juggernauts Programming Manual. But tbh I've been obsessed with programming for 4 years and I've coached 6 people for years, worked with hundreds of people through personal training, have been coached by great coaches (Pete Rubish and Mikey Dee from Flexx Training Systems). Only this year do I truly feel confident in my programming. It takes a lot of time to understand how to merge all variables together in a package that works for someone, let alone making a cookie cutter plan that needs to work for everyone.

From week 1 till week 8 I gained at minimum 10% on everything. After this program I went to high rep sets, 20 reps min. and I was doing those sets easily with the weight I started in JN program. For example incline press I started at 40lbs each dumbbell for first week and first set with JN, during high rep program I started the same and did 22’s. Progress was amazing…if you’re not going to be disciplined don’t waste your time or money…eating and sleep are honestly the things I had to change the most…lifting is easy.. it’s fun…but the program works..100% worth it.
