    Today’s menu is very classic and simple MENCHI KATSU, Ground Beef Cutlets.
    It was a very common snack when I was a kid as many butcher sold hot and fresh croquettes and cutlets at the corner of their shop and my mother often got one for me when we visited for every day dinner.
    At that time, it was only 50yen, a half dollar!
    Now adays, many Japanese people make this menu using combination of ground pork and beef. I use only beef to imitate Butcher style juicy meaty one!

    Ingredients    1 us cup =250cc
                ★be careful it’s NOT 200cc!!
    1 tbs =15cc
       1 tsp =5cc
    (Serve for 3 ppl)
    Onion (Medium size) ½
    Ground/ Minced Beef 1lb/ 450g
    Egg 1
    Salt & pepper
    Ground Coriander ½ tsp
    Sake or White wine 45cc or more
    (Battar Liquid)
    Egg 1
    Water 50cc
    5 tbsp of flour
    PANKO
    Vegetable oil for deep-frying
    Tonkatsu sauce, thick sauce or Soy sauce (depends on your preference)
    ¼ Head of Cabbage For garnish
    Lemon Edge
    Shiso, Japanese perilla 3 leaves

    This looks so delicious!
    I remember eating something similar in Bulgaria when I was a kid.
    We called it schnitzel. And when you see schnitzel in the menu you asked "Is it with mince meat or with meat?"
    The one with the meat was more expensive but I preferred the one with mince meat.
    You inspired me to make this dish!
    I have Le Creuset and not Staub but I think I will manage :)
    What size is your Staub in this video?
