In this video, we replace the OEM Toyota Tacoma side view mirror with ones that have a blind spot mirror in them. The mirror is made by a company called Spotter and we have to admit, the quality is amazing! The mirror is super crisp and clear and the blind spot mirror is super helpful!

Just so you know you can replace the taco mirror with the RAV4 mirror with built in blind spot mirror. They are the same size same fit.

I angle the rear view mirror towards the middle of the truck back I have driven some old cars and they don’t have a right side mirror, so now I’m just use to doing it plus you still have vision of the back.

@@mblake0420 maybe it all depends on preference I guess seen some chrome mirrors out on the Big Boys like Chev and Ford and those chrome blind spot mirrors look pretty good . Money is tight too and if it works Don’t knock it IMO

The new 2020 taco has the 360 panoramic view feature which is cool for off-roading.

My mother in law just scratched my left side mirror with a razor blade since she tried to help me to remote the sticky part from a blind spot mirror I bought at Walmart and I want to buy a replacement mirror my question is do it have to be an original from like Nissan? Or I can buy a third party one and the heating function will still be working?
You can get an aftermarket one.

I replaced my mirrors with Toyota OE Rav 4 mirrors which have built-in convex blind spot mirrors. They install exactly like you showed in the video. I think that they are better suited for highway use , which 99% of my driving is..
What year Rav4? Where can you get that part?
@@manuelmenjivar7314 Don't know the years. Part # is 87961-42D20 for LH, and 87931-42D50 for RH. You can buy them from any Toyota dealer, Amazon, etc. I got mine from sparks Toyota.
If they make this for the blind spot monitoring equipped trucks I’d be all over that

Thanks for the vid, Twonz! The spotter mirror is a very nice upgrade-which for my money, Toyota should offer standard.
One thing I didn't see in the video was actually disconnecting the mirror defroster wires. There was no trouble doing it, but it was surprising how much force it took to disconnect. The last thing I needed was to damage something else (or the original mirror) and create more work. This was a zero cuss word mod for me. Great vid.
Does this have good visibility when towing a travel trailer?

I wonder how well these mirrors stack up to the RAV4 swap mirrors? Granted the RAV4 oems seem great regular hwy use, but these seem able to get a better picture of the rear tires (which are a plus when off roading of course). But what kills me is the pricing: $160 vs $96 (a $64 difference).
Any plans to get in stock that mirror for 4gen 4runners?
I put Rav 4 Mirrors on my 4Runner to add a blindspot feature. Great Mod that can be affordable if you buy from the right place.

2018 Tacos have blind spot indicators that when driving in traffic beeps when a vehicle enters your blind spot.

I have the convex ones on my 4Runner and I prefer the mirror to be on the bottom, it's more usable for parking

Just my opinion but adjustable convex mirror should've been positioned at outer top like many oem cars. I've been using adjustable round convex mirror for many years but that outer bottom wasn't ideal spot.
