Is there a way to do it so that the onboard keyboard is disabled when the external keyboard is plugged in but then lets say the battery of the external keyboard dies and then onboard keyboard is re-enabled? My touch pad on my laptop is a bit wonky, so I purchased an external keyboard that has a touch pad and I was hoping to use that exclusively while disabling my onboard keyboard while the battery (of the external keyboard) last.
Hi bro , Does turning off the deiver save more battery on the laptop or does it just make the laptop keyboard unable to type?

I was so frustrated because my laptop keyboard was repeatedly typing \\\ automatically and I could do nothing with my laptop. No liquid spilled or dust on the keyboard. I tried all kinds of websites, talking with tech support, reading faq's for my laptop and TH-cam methods for turning off the key or disabling the key, and installing various other updates, but nothing. I bought a Bluetooth external keyboard and this video finally allowed me to shut off the laptop keyboard! 🎉 no more annoying \\\\\ every single time!!! You're awesome and this was successful for me!!! Thank you 😊

@@samjesse2206 hi bro i had the same problem with my laptop, i suggest you to download "sharp keys" ,install it and then simply block the / key to get rid of your problem

Your story same as mine with stuck keys auto typing etc.
Your laptop smart it regognized driver not working n set it back to correct drivers. Each time you use laptop you will have to diable laptop keyboard in device manager. Only true perminant way is to open up laptop n remove ribbon cable for keyboard, ive done this but also note that if power switch is part of keyboard you cant put it on (thats my situation n what im looking for a fix for, prob have to jump cables n put a switch somehow).@samjesse2206

Is it just me or many people are experiencing this issue? My friend just went off grid (even if he liked it) because his laptop's keyboard just became an issue.
Now my other friend has similar problem. I told him to get an external keyboard as a cheaper solution, since he needs the laptop for his work, and leaving it at a service center is not possible for now. But we couldn't disable the internal.
I honestly wonder if laptop companies have planned this so customers will go to their service centers. 😑
It could be. Have you downloaded any update from the manufacturer? It could be like some phones get a green line on the display right after a software update.
me too im for first time having this issue on my laptop, none of this methods on youtube worked for me, my laptop keep reversing the changes that i made on the drivers automatically on every start of the system, i tried even go to the register editor and disable the automatic search of drivers but windows still solving the driver incompatibility

@@keepgoingup9562you can do it from command line. It takes 3 seconds and 1 Google search :)
Some laptop don't have the Disable option
@@keepgoingup9562 if not, do it with registry, don't break the install like this video suggests. It will have other negative impact on the system.
@@BrokenSoulConfession as I said above, just use the registry to disable it, should be one key. No need to break the install.

sc config i8042prt start= auto

1. Click Start and type CMD in the Start search box
2. Right click on CMD in the list and click on "Run as administrator"
then type the command
then you can restart your computer
