*_Is sharing drinks on a drink package STEALING?_* _Watch this next_ - th-cam.com/video/uRZEWAqnnO8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JUvlcbZdo5ePJH9H
Ok 🎉
It really is, but if only done once or twice an understandable and forgivable bending of the rules.
I would say yes, but cruise lines got to know its going to happen with prices of the Drink Packages.
Clicked on your drink package link. You're transcript was in a different language
No. You are paying for x amount of drinks per day. What you do with them is your business. Cruise lines have handled this by requiring all parties in a stateroom to purchase drink package.
I was behind a man in line to tender into a port in Scotland last year. He was venting about the line very loudly. When we got to a point where a crew member was directing traffic. And he went off on her using every obscenity he could think of. When I got to her I said very loudly “ He forgot to say thank you for doing your job with a smile and putting up with me.” He turned to confront me, then realized, I was a much bigger man than him. Sometimes a bully needs to be reminded there is always someone bigger and tougher than them.
Yes, I agree with your point. I just take the approach and simply "totally ignore them" make them invisible as they are fuelled on attention. Personalities such as that are already living a miserable and unhappy life so I don't want any of it to rub off on me.
I can’t fathom why this woman is arguing with the staff over policies that they did not create and are being paid to follow. What does she realistically expect them to change about this? Kudos to those employees for maintaining their composure and staying professional.
Last time I cruised when I got to my cabin there was a bunch of flyers on the desk. All were ads for all kinds of discounts available. Yes, including photos. Don’t ignore that stuff, it may save you some money. Also, on your app, before you even leave home, there is info on specials and discounts. Look at them. Not the cruise lines fault if you don’t.
Maybe they don’t need to be banned. But presented with a pin required to wear. IDIOT! They will have to tell anyone who asks why they have the pin, in detail. Or find a $1000. charge on their account every time they refuse. Half to the cruiser line, half to the person they refused to tell. If nasty doubles the fee. 😂 Pins should have numbers on them for reporting purposes.
The pictures are vastly overpriced, but that's the way the cruise line makes money. I would just say, "No, thank you." Yes, the prices should be published at the beginning of the cruise.
@@Bobrogers99 The prices are published. That's the point. They never looked at them then blamed the staff
@@notinterested6343 The woman should have been berating herself for not reading the prices on the sign. In practically every venue, the person who waits on you (often the lowest paid employee) has nothing to do with prices.
Yes, I agree Kudos to the employees. But wherever we travel in the world we know that our infamous Karen lives in every country. They walk among us.
I'm so tired of rude people. One of my anxieties on vacation is coming across people like this when I'm trying to relax.
Yup, people SUCK! That's why I pony-up for a smaller ship to reduce the interactions with rude/inconsiderate folks!
Me too.
I think it's random chance, to be honest. I was on the Mardi Gras earlier this year (I don't cruise very much so that was my only cruise this year) and I didn't see any of this kind of behavior at all. It does seem like Tony encountered quite a few more of these rude passengers on this particular cruise, and someone in the comments of a prior video said they noticed that on another Princess ship with this same itinerary (Iceland/Greenland) so maybe it's something specific to Princess cruises that go to Iceland and Greenland, lol.
Yeah..I think the cruise lines should have pricing posted for each and every venue that costs extra.
The last with the luggage may should definitely be banned for being a thief... She seems to think she is entitled to take someone else's property... Which could be anything..even someone's luggage!
Taking the luggage mat from the cruise ship is just the same as talking a bathrobe or a towel. Its theft from the cabin and should be dealt with the same.
And who would want that anyway? 🙄
@@kellyault6468 exactly
A charge not a ban.
I think if we give her the benefit of the doubt if it’s her first cruise, she may not know that she wasn’t allowed to take the mat from the room
@@tahant00 seriously though, what would she do with it after a cruise to warrant her taking it from the ship? I understand what you're saying about first time cruiser and all, but why?
I give you full Cruise Ban authority on all levels!
YES, please
Taking a picture of a picture is indeed stealing. The cruise company has what amounts to copyright on the photos they take.
Picture Story: My husband and I went on a cruise. There were a few backgrounds that my husband wanted me to pose in solo. We went to buy them the next day and found out a STRANGER had purchased my solo photos. To this day, several years later, I wonder why anyone would want my pictures when they don't even know me? It's creepy. Only people in the photos should be able to buy them IMO.
My wife purchased pictures on our first couple of cruises. First cruise was fine because they printed them. 2nd time they were down loaded to her phone with our cabin number. We received quite a few random pics of people we never saw. I assume the number wasn't put in the camera correctly. Have only purchased a few since our first cruise.
@mikecreger9702 they didn't have that back in the 90s.
Never yell at the crew totally agree with that. They work so hard and don't set the picture prices.
Pro Photographer of 28 years- YES taking a photo of a Cruiseline photo with out purchase is stealing. It is copyright infringement.
I was at a pizza restaurant one time and there was a customer complaining about the price of a pizza to the person at the cash register. The lady at the cash register, looked at the person buying the pizza and said I don’t make the prices. I just sell the pizza. People gotta understand that.
$27 for a picture is pretty ridiculous though.
People need to take responsibility for their own knowledge. Many think they’re entitled to things they’re not informed of.
Yeah for sure, it's always "Buyer Beware" everywhere, and in this case that means do your own diligent inquiry in each circumstance.
Yes it is stealing. Wrong to ever attack an employee! Wrong to hold up a line as well.
You and Don need to take pictures of each other covered by luggage mats. 🤣
I'm thinking most cruise lines have photo packages price out and in your daily planner when you get onboard, Think the Crew did a outstanding Job of explaining and being Professional.
Thank you every cruise. I’ve been on on the webpage on the app. It tells you photo prices plus when you walk through most photo areas their advertising because again they want to sell stuff and that’s why they want to sell five at discount price cause that means they’re moving more of their stuff.

Remember when they used to print everything put it on the wall then later you walk by and the garbage cans were full.
Good point about how they used to print everything. Now they are saving huge money because the digital does not cost them the printing material costs. They simply only have to print what is being actually sold.
@@JR-vx4rh Yeah I always thought that was such a a waste.
I want to ban the "special people" who believe that the restrictions on where they can vape don't apply to them.
Some people have such a over-the-top sense of entitlement!
Sometime during her cruise I am sure there was a handout in her room that included picture prices. Cruise lines push EVERYTHING that costs more money.
On the picture of the picture I know some lines that still use the picture wall specifically post to not take pictures of the picture so that is certainly stealing.
I'm reminded of art auctions at science fiction conventions. Before you're allowed to look at the art on offer, you're required to turn in whatever purses or bags you're carrying to the person running the front table. Since mine contained necessary emergency medication (as in if I ever need this stuff, I need it NOW, and can't wait for someone to hunt up my purse and get it to me), I just let them inspect my purse to show that I wasn't carrying a camera or anything that would let me steal an image of the art. I let them babysit my other stuff (shopping bags from the dealers' room), and took out the pen and notepaper that was permitted (to place bids or make notes for later bids if I wanted to come back after thinking it over).
It’s called “rewarding bad behavior “. It started at the airline counters. People screaming at employees
on my last cruise the worst were the people that come into the theater 20 minutes LATE and walk over us to get to seats. I work in community theater and this drives the performers and me crazy 👿
They should close the doors when the show starts, and not open them for latecomers - unless it’s just 2 or 3 minutes
I used to work in theatre as well. Our policy in one company on latecomers is that if they arrive as the curtain is going up or later, they will be seated during the first set change that's long enough to get them to their seats (ours were very quick, mostly, unless it was a complex one).
I worked for a different one that had the policy that if reserved tickets were not claimed by 5 minutes to curtain, they could be resold to whoever was in the vicinity looking for a ticket (we often had full houses, so this was how some people managed to get in - hanging around the ticket office on the off-chance of a no-show).
@@Shan_Dalamani I think it would help if they had ushers, that would hold people until it was a good time. or just close the doors a few minutes after the show starts
@@cathydunn5927 Exactly. I've worked a variety of front of house jobs, including coat check, ticket-taking, programs, and ushering. One of the frustrating ushering incidents happened when we were doing a production of "Grease." The show's performance dates started at the tail end of the Stanley Cup playoffs (hockey, for anyone unfamiliar with the Cup tournament).
We knew it was a sold-out performance, but as the minutes ticked by to curtain (8 pm) and many seats were still empty, we finally realized that it was one of the nights that hockey was on. Would the people make it in time? Many of the theatre-goers tended to be couples, so sure enough, around 5 minutes to 8, there was a flood of people crowding in (I guess the wives/girlfriends had managed to drag the husbands/boyfriends away from the TV). As I was seating people in my section, I kept hearing whispers of "what was the score when you left home?"
This was in pre-cell phone times, so they had to wait until they got home to find out the score and a TV channel that had footage of whatever the final goal was. I'm happy to say that we got nearly everyone seated in the nick of time, and the latecomers had to wait until a lull in the show. That was a close call for everyone.
So if we could do that, I don't see why cruise ship theatres can't. Or just have a policy of "be on time or don't come at all."
We were late for the show one night even though we went to dinner very early as the dining room was full and we were seated at a large share table. It took ages between courses which was unusual. Sometimes it is not intentional to be late when you are held up by traffic, other people or transport difficulties. We changed our dining habits after that incident.
Hi Tony! It never ceases to amaze me how people act???!! There is much to be said about using manners! Have a great day!
The lady didn't have to have five pictures taken to get the five picture deal. She could have bought multiples of one or more of the pictures like you did. I do agree, however, that the prices are too high. Like you said, they print many of the pictures in advance. Most times those are the pictures that you buy. Then they throw them away at the end of the cruise. Wouldn't it make more sense to sell them at a more reasonable price and duplicates, if any, could be priced higher?
Drink package sharing, yes stealing (it's sold per person)... luggage mat taking home, yes stealing... taking pillows from a hotel, yes, stealing... should I go on? Taking things that don't belong to you or that you have not purchased is stealing.
I would think they would have a poster up around the ship describing their deals (listing the individual price vs the package price). And there is no justification for yelling at the cruise employees.
Maybe the cruise lines should learn from this and post the regular and special prices.
Great video as always Tony !! And yes she should be Banned!!
My wife has warmed up to you and now loves your videos. Specially when you do the "ban" videos. On our last cruise, she was constantly saying "ban" when confronting difficult passengers. Keep banning!
We get our picture taken all the time when we cruise! The more choices the better!!
Bro! Are you dropping some LB's or what? Looking sharp, keep up the hard work Tony! Need to keep you and your content around for many years to come!
If I recall correctly, as far as the photo area, they have prices posted. You can always walk by and read what they have or if you don't see anything - just ask. Thanks for sharing!
If the lady didn't want to pay the cost that they charge for the photos, she doesn't need to get any.
You can see all the prices and the various rules in advance. If you don't like them, don't go. Simple as that. Plus the employee is just that, they don't set the rules!
they do add specials sometimes in the middle of the cruise for some things if they have excess capacity, i.e. spa services. I don't know about photos. But I agree that there is no reason to berate someone making less than US minimum wage about the prices.
Thank you Tony, appreciate your insights on cruise issues.
Hard to say if the photo lady should be banned. If simply aggravated and wished they had known, I don't consider that a banning offense. If they started to verbally assault the crew member and cuss them out or something, then yes they should. We all get aggravated at times and voice that we wish we had more information. This is far different than verbally assaulting someone. The lady who stole the matt should have to pay for it and be banned. If something is available to purchase, like the blow-dryer, it will have a sign that says you can take it and simply be charged. The matt stealing is theft and bannable
Love the photo of you and Don!
I don't want to cruise with thieves. If the lady stole the luggage mat, what else is she willing to steal. She shall be banned.
Photographing art, or a portrait is also theft. Portraits are considered intellectual property. A photographer typically sets the pose, composes the shot, and makes equipment adjustments to get a desired look or affect. This makes it art and the property of the photographer (or their employer). By taking a photo of their photo, you are stealing their intellectual property. There's lots of case law that has previously addressed this. Should they be banned? I don't know. There's no monetary gain by posting it on Facebook. If I download a picture from the internet, print it and hang it in my living room, it doesn't affect anyone. If I sell that photo on E-bay, the original artist is out the money I made from selling it, and therefore would have a case against me.
Clear as mud.
Thanks Tony!
You make a copy for your wall, the artist is out what they would have made if you had bought one. That’s theft.
I disagree if it’s one done at a spot where there’s a photo op background but I certainly agree if you’ve booked a professional shoot.
I did the P&O world cruise in 2023 and we had a couple chucked off the ship for stealing watches from one of the shops and there is a huge CCTV camera in that area. Unbelievable!!
I cannot fathom how someone can believe that we purchased the luggage mat in a cabin and can walk off with it. What about the trash can, pillows, clothes hangers? All part of the cruise ship's inventory. There is a list of what's included on our cruise that is given up front.
On our first cruise, 20 years ago, we bought EVERY PHOTO we liked. Oh the Shock & Awe when we got the bill. $600+. 😮 We learned our lesson, now we get the port pics and a couple of the Formal Nights.
Yes it is stealing to take a picture of the cruise ships pictures.
In the UK I think this would be a theft of copy wright.
You are such a great oracle- love your story telling!! Yes- they need to post the photo special in the daily newsletter. Sadly, the crew doesn’t set prices or rules- corporate rules!! Royal now doesn’t print until you pay- just on a screen. Photos are expensive!! They should be less for a memory as advertising for others.
A photograph can be considered intellectual property, taking a photo of a photo can be considered theft
I'm not completely 100% certain, but I believe it is on the cruise line app and posted in the gallery where you pick up and view pics throughout the cruise. I could be wrong, but the past 2 cruises that I have been on, It has been advertised in very bold signage on the ship as well as the daily cruise info sheet and the app.
Everytime you cruise you make this video! I love it!
Oh wow!! My husband always spent too much money on photos, he is a sucker for 😂. Now we always buy the premium package with Princess as it is the cruise line we travel the most. Now we posed for every photographer around the ship. You don’t want to know how many digital photos we had on the last 15 day Panama Canal cruise it’s is so much fun.! We get the 3 prints each and he still orders extras for our girls. ❤ I wish other cruise lines will offer this type of package price that includes what Princess does.
One of the things people don't realize is how strict cruise lines are with the picture packages and won't allow personal cameras in photo spots to essentially force the purchase of photos........that's just common practice everywhere except Disney Cruise Line of all places who will gladly use your personal cameras as well as their professional cameras. That's the nickel and dime game since a lot of companies use the Spirit Airlines method of hooking you in with low price but shoving ads in your face and up charges at every turn where you ultimately pay as much as those premium price cruise lines.
Nooooo! They probably have that posted everywhere. Ridiculous.
Yep every Rule of politeness from yelling to talk at show to “Thats my table” and refusing us to exit elevator at our floor was demonstrated, my favorite was passenger arguing with crew about his use of mini bar and several who thought “If we are late the ship will wait” if they Ban these people wouldn’t hurt me
So glad my favorite cruise company does not have any photographers. Thank you, Tony, the last couple of videos have been super interesting and entertaining. And yes, it is stealing, to take a picture of a
picture.
I buy cruise ship pictures. You can look ahead online to see what the cruise line offers for "deals". Also, you can stop by the photo desk at the beginning of the cruise & find out what the offers are. I get they are expensive & she might have though taking a picture=having to buy it, so didn't take 5. However, if the cruise photographers we constantly mentioning "take more photos & you can get a discount at 5 pictures" - people might find that annoying or too pushy
Yes I think just like the art you get a letter in your room informing the passengers of specials
I am tired of cruisers not doing their own research instead they ask ppl on Facebook and then be angry that FB posters didn’t tell them. I am a planner so doing research about the cruise line, the ports, the food, entertainment etc is part of the excitement of cruising. I mean really they ask silly questions like are there tissues in the cabin? If you need tissues bring them. Think for yourself and don’t count on random posters on FB to do your planning for you. The
Yes it is stealing!!
I'm a photographer and seen some cruise photogs post what it's like working as a photog on a ship. It's not pleasant, but it's a good way to start, and sometimes you can really tell. Considered the videos I've seen it's very stressful. It would be interesting if cruise companies were willing to take on photogs as I would trade time for cruises. But not under current conditions.
Taking a picture of the pictures would be theft. Lifetime bans should be saved for the most serious of offenses where actual harm or property damage occurs. Those and drugs.
Great video ❤❤❤❤
Love watching..you make my day 🌸🌸🌸
I love my port pictures! I also have had pictures taken on the ship, and some have been the best pictures I’ve ever taken! I don’t worry about the price, because it’s all about the memories for me!
🚢🏖 when you get the premier package you can get 3 pictures printed out plus all your pictures on a thumb drive. I believe it is like 15 or 20 bucks for a custom ship shaped mini drive. We stop for all the photos now. Its no pressure when you already know you are getting everything. Take as many or as few as you like. 👍 📷
Princess bombards your cabin with paperwork regarding discounts!!! If she didn’t know, she wasn’t paying attention!
😂😂😂 "SHARING THE DRINK PACKAGE". Wink Wink Nobody does that Tony!!!.
I could be wrong, however I believe, at someplace there are package prices posted.
Taking a picture of a picture taken by a professional on a cruise is stealing. We took a P&O cruise and they had no pictures printed until you picked them out . They had screens set up where other lines have the prints on display. You were asked your cabin number so you could preview and choose the pictures you wanted printed. That is the way to go. No wasted time, money or prints that wasn’t wanted. Prices were posted by the counter.
I would think somewhere in the newsletter it advertises photo stop discount.
I definitely do not like how the whole photo process works on the Carnival-owned brands. I was really upset by the lack of transparency and advance information on a cruise we took on Holland America. On Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line, I always book a discounted package before the cruise (digital only), and on the Carnival brands, you don't have that option.
I have bought a picture and friends take it to a Walgreens and make a copy for $10.00
Good advice, I take advantage of the photo areas and decide two days before the end to get one of those viewing screens and beat the rush. If on the rare occasion I purchase I can pack them
The photographer could wear a sign with the prices. 😂
People need to get a grip.
We went with the Princess premiere package and got to download all the pictures on my phone and got 3 photos free, also.
Lol, I did not know it was a luggage mat, but i knew it wasn't a blanket.😂
Tony , I don’t know how others do it. I a. Usually simultaneously managing 3 to 4 cruises by year 2025 one is 32 days . Looking at discounts from room to excursion to on board experience, you absolutely need to be engaged in the process to truly get the most of your cruise & money spent. This lady probably barks at grocery clerks, retail clerks anyone she feels she can unload on. Fact is ships are not land so responses must reflect this. If you’re in a foreign country how would you treat a clerk ? & what could be the consequences? Same as a ship it’s cruise line & captain’s decision not ours. Tks John b suite life
On my NCL cruise. Your pictures are viewed on computer screens. Staff was walking around as we were view the screen.
People are so used to bullying behind the screen that it’s spilling over to real life and we are becoming a selfish, uncaring society. I feel horrible for the staff that have to put up with people such as this.
Haven't cruised yet but ❤ this channel....thanks for all you share!!! 😂
If you like photos just buy the photo package. We didn’t and had to buy it at the on ship price. It was 25$ more
I wonder if a passenger went around a cruise ship taking photos or videos of some of the ship's decorations including some of the paintings for sale, and then used the photo or video of a painting they liked and framed and hung it at home instead of buying it, is that " stealing"? The same could happen with calendar photos of famous paintings. Does the fact that the original is very valuable and the home made photo is not, does that matter?
Maybe if they put signs up with large-ish font? I worked retail several times decades & know that people don’t always read the signs, read only what’s printed in large/bold font etc… so it wouldn’t stop everyone. They could also hand out brochures when they take the pictures too.
I don’t think the photo lady should be banned unless she was violent.
Yes , the cruise line should be on something that. Is a handout and on the door or something near the print shop.
If you're part of the veterans program on NCL and go to the reception you'll get a free picture of yourself or you and your spouse for free
Shoot, she took only three pictures. So get double copies of two of the pictures to get the $99 price, and give the two copies to your mother or best friend.
I am sure that discount is written somewhere.....what's more the issue is many don't know if the picture is taken it doesn't cost you. Years ago on my very 1st cruise I bought them all because I didn't know we didn't have to! Banned for the luggage mat? No - charge her which is what they did . I'm sure there are lots of towels that don't make it back and sea pass cards get charged.
We love your site but as a newer cruiser we find these things frustrating and don’t find a lot of info on this.
Hotels in ports, not the 200-300 hotels but the more economy hotels.
Best way to get to port … shuttles, Uber, taxi
Where you get dropped off and where to go after you get dropped off …. Regular line vs Priority line
I think when you travel if you could add some of this it would go a long way.
Thanks
Ahhh I saw that photo and I didn't get it, I thought it was a towel. Ha, and then the person posts it, Brilliant. Taking pictures of pictures is stealing my DH was told to stop it by security. Had I known I would have taken care of it myself. But he learned his life lesson that day, all good. I am taking new cruisers out this year on their first cruise since the early 90's (tiny ships) I pray that all goes well and there are none of these people that you encountered on Princess.
20 bucks for a photo is ridiculous. It really is that simple. My wife will no longer be purchasing pictures.
I am not a photographer. I would really appreciate this service. I would really enjoy buying an album.
Ok, on a lighter note, I have to have a makeup artist before my closeup!!!😊
Photo packages are on the Princess website. Just looked at it yesterday. Inform yourself woman! :-)
Yes. It’s stealing to take a pic of the picture for sale
Hey Tony! Great watching you on TH-cam! Just wondering, are there any awesome person cruiser/crew stories? Where have all the awesome people gone!?
Whenever you ask “should they be band” the answer is always YES!!!
I do think they should be advertising the "get 5 for $99", because that could entice people to buy more pictures than they would have otherwise (like the impolite woman), and would be fair for people buying 4 at full price.
Not advertising the discount is like a store not advertising discounts. It's unethical NOT to tell people that a discount is available, so they can make the decision that best suits them
Carnival sends a flyer from the photo shop to each cabin. People need to take steps to inform themselves and stop blaming others for their own ignorance. Just adult!
I have been lucky enough to have been on five cruises this year. I have never had my photo taken by the photographers while on the ship or at port, that I am aware. I would think that anyone interested in having their photo taken for possible purchase would ask about the pricing ... right? I never did the photos since I have not a bit of interest in purchasing.
Maybe they should add the Luggage Mat to their gift store souvenir shelf- I'm sure everyone would want one for their bed at home!😂
Tony, your comments are right on target, as always! In my experience on various cruises, the photo shop always posts some sign or signs showing the various discounted photo packages. So, even if you did not see the discount notices in your Carnival emails or website, you could have seen them in the photo shop onboard. Or, at least one should ask when you get onboard what the specials are. And, as you say, Tony, one should pose for all or most of the photos onboard, as they do not cost anything unless you purchase them.
Carnival gives a flyer detailing photo specials for each cabin.
There is always that one person!
Any photographer has a price list. It would behoove the cruise line to do it too.
Those pictures are my souvenirs! I love them!
The discounted package price is on the Princess trip planner, so it is actually advertised. With the package you also get a digital version of your photos.
1. Taking a picture of a picture is kind of stealing...on the other hand if they don't want you to be able to do that, the pictures should not be on display unless already purchased.
2. Charging for the luggage mat is enough. No need to ban. I would rather ban smokers who smoke on balconies, talkers who talk during shows, drinkers who over indulge, parents who don't watch their kids. They are offensive and ruin other people's cruises.
As for the drink pkg share.. I personally think that the policy of not sharing is ridiculous. Buying one pkg for a cabin and sharing doesn't increase the amount of drinks included. They have still sold 15 drinks. So what if 1 person drinks 5 and another drinks 10. It's still 15. Better to share than have people determined to get their money's worth and get drunk every day.
Hi Tony. I could be wrong but don't they have a list of the photo pkg on the website? WHY would you want something that has been used by so many people with luggage that has been who knows where and then cover herself in it. Nasty!! Glad she got charged for it. If she steals that and advertised it what else is she taking?. As always thank you for all you do ❤
We have never complained but it would be nice to know. If my wife and I go we usually don’t take a bunch of pics. If we have all our kids we do take lots of pics
