The amount of entitlement and narcissism where people think everything on a vacation should be hand-catered to their own personal tastes and sensitivities is utterly astounding to me. You are on a cruise ship with up to 5000 other people. The world doesn't revolve around you as the singularity. The people who pull this whiney, mamby-pamby BS need to either stay home or find another vacation outlet. Holy cow.
The beauty of cruising is that you can pick and choose what you want to do, see, eat or participate in. I’m so over people being offended by everything and then trying to force their feelings on others 🤦🏻♀️
We went to a comedy show on Carnival.. My husband is a big guy, like 6 ft + and muscular and I am under five feet. We didn't mean to become the fodder for the comedian' s material, honest! But we arrived late, and the only two seats were...? Yup, you guessed it, front row, AND it was a late night show. That comedian had a hey day with us! Boy did we get a roasting! We laughed so hard I was seriously afraid of the state of my britches! Come on people! Try to be humble enough to laugh at the eccentricity of humans! You're on a cruise! Enough of the whining and complaining! Lighten up!
Thank you. Everyone knows front row puts you in the spot light and comedians make fun. That’s what it’s called fun. Even if it’s more like picking. Laugh that’s whybyoungonto comedy. Some people even volunteer to be the fun. Respect to the thicker skinned
Love Carnival Comedy Club! When we go to the Adult Comedy we know what to expect. If people can’t read, for 18 years and older that’s their own fault 😂.
There shpuld be so.wthing TASTEFUL for adults who don't find vulgarity tasteful. Something abput adult topics, so not a show rhat you'd take xhildren to, with references to Veggie Tales or My Raimbow Pony or Disney characters or plots. Just basic, clean, tasteful humor, without it being child-centric. Humor for adults does not need to be vulgar. With all themoney of those cruise lines, you'd think that they could afford a better comedian.
When people start to complain, my first sentence is “have you gone to the service desk” Usually NOT, they can t fix an issue they don’t know about, if you let it go till your filling out The survey, that’s on YOU not THEM.
Some people are too full of themselves, they seem to carry a mental laundry list of stuff they find offensive. I say please stay home and be miserable by yourself.
It bothers me no end that some people think that if they don’t approve of or like something, no one else should get to experience it. There needs to be a place for those of us who enjoy naughty jokes and aren’t easily offended! Maybe everyone entering the club ought to be told a dirty joke and, if they don’t appreciate it, deny them entrance!
How abput they offer a naughty joke adult show and a tasteful, better-written adult comedy show, simultaneously, in separate theaters, by different comedians? That way, each has an option to suit their own tasye, and EVWRYBODY gets to enjoy a laugh and take the load off?
I totally agree. There are some people who will complain about just about everything. If you think you’re going to be offended don’t go and shut your mouth!
Every time I have been on a carnival ship in the adult comedy show they say “if you are easily offended get the f**k out” I mean how much clearer can they be
Good to know. Thank you. I'll choose to cruise with another line. Thank you. Oh, btw, I'm a former comedienne. Vulgarity is for those performers who don't write good material.
People have no grounds to stand on to complain if they go to a R show knowing there could be bad language or things they may not agree with . And then stay !
Totally agree with everything you mentioned in this review. Cruise ships have a ton of activities so those who think material maybe be offensive….DON’T GO TO THE SHOW.
Agreed we never sit in the front row or even close to it at 18+ comedy shows for that reason. In fact, we rarely sit close in any comedy show in fear of being singled out! However, we really enjoy when the comedian does make the guest part of the show...HAHAHA
this is hilarious... I just got off the Carnival Mardi Gras and went to the rated R show (Arvin) and I got roasted... it was hilarious... its a comedy show... loosen up
I’ve always appreciated that Carnival has both family-friendly comedy shows and 18+ comedy shows, at least on the few that I’ve been on. RCCL only had 18+ comedy during the one cruise my family did with them. And NCL had a comedy routine that was not labeled 18+ then quickly turned VERY raunchy during which my kids and I made a rapid exit.
I went to the adult comedy show on Ovation OTS. The cruise director said 'if anyone is offended by naughty words, get the f*** out. If you complain to guest services, they will laugh at you'
I think in today’s world it must be hard to be a comedian. Everyone is so easily offended and the penalty is to be cancellated (Tony’s term, not mine). I was picked on at a comedy show many years ago so I learned never to sit that close.
No it’s not, in fact it’s EXTREMELY easy compared to 50-60 years ago than it is in today’s day’s world to be a comedian. Back in the day you literally had comedians being arrested on stage just for cursing & if you don’t believe me look up who Lenny Bruce was. Also arrested at that show was George Carlin who was back stage and he used that to write he famous 7 dirty words performance. I’ll also point out that The Smothers Brothers were literally canceled by CBS because they wouldn’t stop talking about Vietnam and after the first episode of All in the Family CBS & the FCC were flooded with calls trying to get them cancelled because Archie flushed a toilet. A few months later Carol O’Conner went in front of it congress to testify because congress was trying to pass censorship rules. Other comedians like Red Fox, Richard Pryor & Rudy Ray Moore were always under constant threat of arrest just for doing their show. Often times their comedy albums had to be sold secretly because selling them was against the law because of what they talked about. The ONLY difference between then & now is social media and the fact that they knew how to use those disadvantages to their advantage. All today’s comedians do is complain and act like what they are going through is something new.
Our first ever cruise 2023 ccld 3 times due to covid for our 40th but then 42nd anniv we went to princess live thing for first time cruisers first nite... the crew director lead it. And the bear mascot was there and some crew. I had on the app indicated we were going but you didnt have to sign up... i had sat down with my husband and they called 2 names to come up and i had no idea they knew i was there even and i was called and went up and we played guessing animal sounds.. the other guest was younger and in pants so she got on the floor and slithered like a snake and barked and clucked and mooed and i guessed them all. Im introverted but heck i had fun my hubby videotaped it! Then the crew played and they had more difficult animals lile sloths etc.. so we won the competition! The other guest got 100 on board Credit and i got 2 . $50 free excursion credit so i went to guest services and they reimbursed me for my current booked excursion for $100 worth. So much fun good memories and we kept meeting that other guest on the ship during the cruise and her little girl and saying hi to them...
Actually I like sitting in the front. Been picked on a few times . One time they ask where we was from and we said Louisiana and they I’m not going to mess with them they know voodoo and shit. It’s all about fun. I think people take life to seriously know. Just my thoughts
someone else had this question! If you don’t like the show you see that it’s X-rated then don’t go and don’t bring your kids. I am sick of these self entitled people ruining it for others on anything. Do not go and bring your kids to the 17+ or even they could be a little why do you sit in the front? My husband doesn’t sit in the front. And he saw Don Rickles! People are so friggin sensitive and easily offended. They really have to grow up. They’re ruined for other people, thank you for your video was very informative, were you that guy building that Star Trek model? L O L tell Jenny I said hi!❤🛳️🦩⚓️🥰
I'm with you Tony: if you go to an adult comedy show, you risk being offended. And there are so many other things to do on a cruise ship, so do one of those and don't complain. And cruise lines: please do not reduce everything to the lowest common denominator. Include activities I don't like as well as those that I do. Bottom line is EVERYONE deserves to have fun!
"Carnival Cruise Line gets a lot of complaints." Well, yeah, because they are the ONLY cruise line with a public-facing spokesman willing to take all the abuse. Gotta give Carnival credit for that, and John H. for being a real trooper.
lol we've sat in the front area, my husband usually gets called out and he plays into it. If I get asked I totally play into it. We don't always sit up front but if we get there later we're game.
We were on a Princess cruise where they gave multiple warnings both on the Patter and multiple times before the show started. It was not comedians it was the crew, including the CD and a ships officer. We enjoyed the show as well as watching people leaving upset after being warned multiple times. It was raunchy, interactive and no one was safe from being called out. Those of us that remained enjoyed it but a full house was half empty by the end!
We were on Royal- they stated at least 2 times not for children or tender hearts! After a few moments, getting into the show, a family left and said they were offended! The comedian replied, some parent you are, taking your children to an R rated show!!
We went to the ADULT comedy show on Royal. The CD mentioned it being adult easily offended at least 3 times up front. And who doesn’t know u don’t sit up front if u don’t want to be part of the action
Hi Tony another great update like I was saying to Don yesterday myself and my wife Mag’s go cruising and have a b-- y good time and to hell with with anything else cheers Tony
We love the adult shows and games😊 they're absolutely fun. Listen, people cruise how you cruise but understand you're on a cruise. Let your hair down, let them body rolls enjoy the beach or pool, and have some fun. 9/10 times you're not going to see these people again unless you make connections. You have no worries for a week or whatever length of time you're sailing. Relax and have fun! You can easily be non offended if you stay at home.
We were on a 19 day South America cruise, a bucket list cruise, and on about day 14, there was a guy complaining non-stock in the theatre about how long it was taking for us to get going on our excursion. His wife was trying to calm him down. I kept thinking, WOW, what were you like on day 1 if you were like this on day 14. By day 14 I am so chilled I could care less about anything.
In my nearly 30 cruises, none of them have been perfect, but I have enjoyed all of them. I have found if you let the proper people know about an issue as soon as possible, the crew will do everything they can to rectify it. If all you do is complain to fellow passengers not much is going to improve.
That is like the server telling you "Be careful, the plate is hot." Then you touch the plate, mildy burn your finger, and then want to complain about it. Either order something different, or don't touch the plate right after being told not to.
It’s so very simple; cruisers that have delicate feelings or who are easily offended, shouldn’t go to comedy shows (especially the 18 plus adult shows)! Perhaps they would have a much better time at the karaoke show or one of the family game shows. They obviously didn’t take heed to the warning that is given at almost every comedy show which unusually warns that if you are under age or easily offended, to get the FXXX OUT!🤣
That is where we are as a society, people looking for a reason to be offended. In their attempt to not be offended they want us to be responsible for their emotions.
Just got off Wonder of Seas and before comedy show they made announcement that this “is going to be a adult comedy show and if you are easily offended please remove the stick from your ass or leave”.
I haven’t really liked the stand-up comedians at either of my last two RC cruises. One, I slipped out and found other fun. The other I stuck through because I was surrounded by family. I played a game silently on my phone, nobody really noticed. My point is, I dealt with it in a way that I was fine and didn’t disrupt the show. No need to complain about it.
People just walk around waiting to be offended. If you think you MIGHT not like a show, now matter what it is, sit in the back and just leave if you don't like it. I LOVE comedians that work the crowd with a back and forth. That makes it fun as hell.
The problem here is a lack of self-awareness. These folks don't think they're going to be offended... they don't realize they're easily offended (or are always looking for SOMETHING to be offended by). Some people think the world revolves around them, and is here to serve them. It's crazy.
The law also depends on the wishes of the parents- 12yo girl in my school was pregnant from a 19yo, parents were happy with it, so no charges. The faculty/admin was beside themselves with outrage, but the call of the PD, not the staff/public.
Lol... I still remember the first time we went to the Quest... the Asst. C.D. started off the show with if you are easily offended, there's the door. If you are under 18, there's the door... and a few others. Come on people, know and understand what you are going to see and as Tony said if you are not sure, sit towards the back and leave. It's just like TV or radio, YOU can change the channel but don't force everyone to listen or watch what YOU want. No one is forcing you to stay.
We just went on Carnival Dream 2 weeks ago. Alot happened. I had 2 complaints 1) some guy always in a thong speedo in the Marketplace. 2) the Quest was in a too small area & we couldnt see. Standing only. All the area facing the main hallway had windows & kids watching through the windows. Stuff that happened- First night some drunk guy went to punch another guy & hit a lady. He was kept in his room the entire time with security sitting at the door. Came back from Costa Maya excursion & there was an ambulance brought in that took a passenger away. The crew member went missing on last day at sea. Husband injured his knee. His clumsiness. The best things- We had a blast. Food was great. Steakhouse was amazing!!! Staff were so friendly & helpful! When my husband hurt his knee the last night he woke up that next morning unable to put weight on it. I called guest services & they very quickly got us a wheelchair & helped us with disembarkation (sp). Amazing!!!
Some people just want us to feel as empty and upset with life as them. I think the majority of us can see this type of behavior and we should be allowed to present them with an actual cookie 🍪 😂
If you DON'T want to be offended, DON'T GO TO THE SHOW!! I was just discussing a cruise we were on and I don't remember what the game was, but I had to wear articles of clothing the girls took off. It was fun and laughable. We've been the comedy shows and some of the comedians really do some insulting. We never got offended. If we did, we could always walk out.
I was offended by a comedian on the Rotterdam who insulted North Carolina. As a North Carolinian I thought he was out of line. Did not complain, just left.
Some people on a cruise have never really experienced live comedy. They get on the ship, see the show and say, let's go it should be fun. They should be required to watch one-night stand or other R-rated comedy on HBO or even TH-cam beforehand. Seeing how shocked and upset people are in these shows amazes me.
I saw a couple get into over the Quest Game show. Here's the story - th-cam.com/video/uvcWjugAA5k/w-d-xo.html
"...get into over"?
If you get offended... Don't go to the show...
@@LaLidoLoca i just watched your suggested video. Wow. That was 4 years ago. I wonder if that couple is still together!

And they choose to be offended. Sadly, I'm not trying to be glib but that's how they work.
What offends me is people who are easy to offend. The ultimate dogooder, if it offends me then no one can see it.
Great video.
I feel sorry for John Heald 😢
What a hard job he has. Listening to all those silly people.
@johnl0715 - sometimes I think people just ask ridiculous questions to get a rise out of John and start a Facebook fracas.

Tony - you need to wear a plastic sheriff's badge that reads, "Complaint Department". 😆
lol
How about one that says NOT the complaint department? 😂
When people start to complain, my first sentence is “have you gone to the service desk”
Usually NOT, they can t fix an issue they don’t know about, if you let it go till your filling out
The survey, that’s on YOU not THEM.
It's crazy how much people just like to complain. They really don't want the problem solved, they'd rather just bitch so they can get attention.
If you don't like a show, then leave! I do not get people who just wait around to be offended? Don't they have hobbies?
I just ask them to go to bed 😅
Being grumpy and irritated and whiny and complaining IS their hobby 🤯🫣😵💫🥴🫨
Seems that is their hobby. 😁
I think getting offended and making a scene is a hobby for some people.
You know you can't fix stupid

If we complain about other people complaining…..does that mean? 🤔 Nahhh! 😂😂 I was offended my wife got a larger slice of lasagne than me.

They obviously didn’t take heed to the warning that is given at almost every comedy show which unusually warns that if you are under age or easily offended, to get the FXXX OUT!🤣
I Agree❤
That is where we are as a society, people looking for a reason to be offended. In their attempt to not be offended they want us to be responsible for their emotions.
NO!!! Don't go
Just got off Wonder of Seas and before comedy show they made announcement that this “is going to be a adult comedy show and if you are easily offended please remove the stick from your ass or leave”.
Simple. Don't go!
Some people are just "Offended at being Offended"! lol
People just walk around waiting to be offended. If you think you MIGHT not like a show, now matter what it is, sit in the back and just leave if you don't like it. I LOVE comedians that work the crowd with a back and forth. That makes it fun as hell.
The only thing that offends me is the ‘pineapple club’ taking over the hot tubs in the evening lol.
The problem here is a lack of self-awareness. These folks don't think they're going to be offended... they don't realize they're easily offended (or are always looking for SOMETHING to be offended by). Some people think the world revolves around them, and is here to serve them. It's crazy.
Hey hey hey LocaFam ❤
Qb!
Good Morning!
Stuff that happened-
First night some drunk guy went to punch another guy & hit a lady. He was kept in his room the entire time with security sitting at the door.
Came back from Costa Maya excursion & there was an ambulance brought in that took a passenger away.
The crew member went missing on last day at sea.
Husband injured his knee. His clumsiness.
The best things-
We had a blast.
Food was great.
Steakhouse was amazing!!!
Staff were so friendly & helpful!
When my husband hurt his knee the last night he woke up that next morning unable to put weight on it. I called guest services & they very quickly got us a wheelchair & helped us with disembarkation (sp). Amazing!!!
Some people just want to complain! They would be miserable anywhere. But I wish they would not act up and ruin anyone’s cruise..
I don’t go to R rated entertainment. However, many enjoy this type of show and it should be available to them. Happy cruising!🚢
Some people just want us to feel as empty and upset with life as them. I think the majority of us can see this type of behavior and we should be allowed to present them with an actual cookie 🍪 😂
Carnival clientele! That says it all.
People just need to grow up and act like adults. Make the right choice for you and not worry about others
Somebody gift Tony a hat that reads "complaint department" 😄
If you DON'T want to be offended, DON'T GO TO THE SHOW!! I was just discussing a cruise we were on and I don't remember what the game was, but I had to wear articles of clothing the girls took off. It was fun and laughable. We've been the comedy shows and some of the comedians really do some insulting. We never got offended. If we did, we could always walk out.
Yes. NO smoking
I was in the room when this happened hahahh
Some people just like to complain, they can not help themselves
😂😂😂😂 thats hallirious hey! If I see ypu ai cant guarantee though 😂😂😂
This best part of a comedy show is watching folks get offended and leave.
I saw on another TH-cam channel and passenger was offended by the ducks. LOL They need to get a life!
Most of the time, they aren't really offended. They just want to see if they can get others to get on their side.
What happens in Quest, stays in the Quest lol
